Nick and Vanessa Want to Have Their Cake…

It seems that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo just can’t decide what they want. They dated for several years and then broke up early in the summer. Then they were seen out once together just recently making out and clearly not caring who was in the room or who saw them doing what. Now, they’ve been seen everywhere together but are denying that they are together. According to reports, they are just ‘hanging out’ and ‘aren’t exclusive.’ Yep, they want to have their cake and eat it too. Meanwhile, I’m still shaking my head wondering why on earth we care about what Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are doing. From People,

“Some couples just can’t stay apart – just ask Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo, who’ve been spotted rekindling their romance in three different cities in the last week.

The couple, who split in June after three years together, were spotted last weekend in Los Angeles making out in a booth at the bar Dime, completely unaware of anything in the world except each other.

Then, on Wednesday, the couple took it to the East Coast, where they hit a party at the bar McFadden’s with Entourage star Kevin Connolly. Lachey, 35, and Minnillo, 28, called it a night early and left at the unfashionable hour of 9 p.m.

Just the next day, the pair decided to spread the love to the Midwest, and were spotted together at Cincinnati’s new hot spot, The Righteous Room.

But don’t call them boyfriend-girlfriend just yet, a friend of the couple’s tells PEOPLE.

“Nick and Vanessa are not officially back together, but they’re hanging out,” the source says. “They’ll see what happens. Maybe a reconciliation will happen, but they’re not exclusive right now.”

So it sounds like one of them wants commitment and one doesn’t. One is on the marriage path and the other isn’t. So which one is it? Is Nick pushing to take things further or is it Vanessa? It doesn’t really matter. When you’ve been together for three years and then break up, there’s no going back to casual dating. Relationships are meant to go forward, not back. Whether they’re back together or just hanging out, it’s not going to last for very long.

Are Nick and Vanessa Back Together?

So, are they? Aren’t they? Do we care? I never really understood why Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo breaking up was such a ’shocker’ or why anyone cared so much. I realize they were together for a long time but, it’s Nick Lachey for cryin’ out loud! Why our we still talking about him? Apparently, some people still care. So here goes.

In June, Nick and Vanessa broke up. Just days after, Vanessa was seen with Topher Grace and there were rumors floating around that the two had already hooked up. Apparently, that’s either not the case or Vanessa and Nick have decided to not get back together, but still get in some smooch time. Just recently they were seen together at a nightclub and they had trouble controlling themselves around each other in public. From Gossip Center,

According to a report, the former “Newlyweds” stud and his former MTV veejay were spotted making out at The Dime, a Los Angeles nightclub.

An eyewitness revealed, “They were making-out in one of the booths and seemed totally into one another. They were having a great time and definitely appeared to be back on. They didn’t care who saw them.”

Another bar patron told press that Nick and Vanessa were only there for 20 minutes before Miss Minnillo began crawling all over Lachey. Perhaps this time it will last.”

Okay, ewww. I don’t really care if they’re back together. And I care even less if it will last. What I do have a problem with is people crawling all over their ex-boyfriends while in a nightclub booth. It’s not a bedroom, people. Other people can see you. Ew, like I said.

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson: Splitsville!

Wow, I didn’t see this one coming! I really thought that Jessica Simpson would have Tony Romo entrenched in herself as much as she is for a very, very long time. And I also sort of expected that she would con him into doing a show after they got married. Something along the lines of The New Newlyweds, perhaps? But none of that is going to happen now as Romo has kicked Simpson to the curb. Not only did he dump her but he did it the day before her birthday. Normally I would say that that’s cruel and unusual. But seeing as how Jessica was planning a Barbie and Ken-themed birthday party, I’d say that Tony escaped some cruel and unusual punishment himself. And just in the nick of time, too! From US,

“Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have called it quits, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

A source close to Simpson confirms they broke up the night before her 29th birthday July 10. She was supposed to celebrate with a Ken and Barbie-themed party. (On Simpson’s birthday, Romo spent the night at Los Angeles hot spot My House.)

“She canceled her party because of this,” the source tells Us. “She’s doing OK.”

“Barbie party didn’t happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!” she wrote on her Twitter page Saturday.

Later, she wrote: “Everyone needs to know that hope floats…grab the strings and pull it back to you… Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please, Lord, give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace.”

A close friend of Romo’s tells Us of the split: “It’s been a long time coming.”

Still, another source tells Us the volatile couple could always get back together. “They go from one fight right into another, without a second break,” the source tells Us. “It’s always something with Jessica.”

Simpson’s rep had no comment.”

I wonder if the Dallas Cowboys are happier now that Simpson will no longer be a ‘distraction’ for Tony (if those rumors are believed to be true.) Either way, I’m sure that Tony’s much happier. I can’t imagine the patience that it takes to be dating Jessica Simpson. Not only is she the epitome of dumb blonde but she’s also the epitome of spoiled brat.

I wonder if Tony Romo will set his sights back on Carrie Underwood. There were also rumors while he was dating Jessica that he couldn’t stop himself from calling Carrie. Hopefully he’ll just focus on his football career now as Carrie seems pretty happy with her new beau, Mike Fisher too. Or will Jessica go back to Nick Lachey, who also recently split with his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo. I really don’t think that will happen either as I think Nick sort of hates Jessica now. I have nothing to base that on, except that I saw him getting endlessly frustrated with her on that horrible reality TV show they did together. But, these are all questions that we get to ponder as we wait to see who Jessica winds up with next. Who knows? If these ‘friends’ of Jessica’s are to be believed, these two could very well end up back together. But, I’m pretty sure that Tony has finally gotten fed up and isn’t about to go down that road again!

Vanessa Recoups Quick from Nick

Just days ago I was yawning as I wrote about the breakup between Nick Lachey and his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo. Both of these people had me bored to tears and I couldn’t understand why the media was calling it a ‘high-profile breakup.’ For heaven’s sakes, they’re not Brangelina. But, I may stand corrected. On the front that this breakup was boring and uninteresting anyway.

Because it seems that Vanessa has wasted no time in getting over her love-Lach as she has already hooked up with someone else - Topher Grace. Topher, up until recently, has managed to stay pretty much out of the tabloids, even though he played one of the starring roles as Eric Foreman in That 70’s Show. I have a feeling if this continues, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Topher. From Radar Online via Celebitchy,

The music switched to The Jackson Five’s ABC and that’s when Vanessa and Nick, er Topher, (sorry, it’s so hard to make thetransition, for us, not her) starting MAKING OUT right on the dance floor!

Yup, we tried not to stare but we pretty much were staring. Ok, we were staring pretty hard. Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday they left the party — together. We’re so happy when love blooms right in front of us.”

So whatever happens between these two, it’s clear that the relationship between Vanessa and Nick was long over before these two officially called it quits. That much is clear if she’s taking guys back to her house after a party, just days after splitting with her long-term boyfriend. I don’t think this thing with Vanessa and Topher will last but it sure is fun to watch stuff like this! And as for Nick, I have a feeling that we’ve been talking about him for too long already.

Nick and Vanessa Break Up

Honestly, why are we still talking about Nick Lachey? His boy band died off long ago, he’s not even married to a famous blonde bombshell anymore and he’s not really doing anything, except appearing in tabloids. So why do we care that he’s broken up with the woman that claimed she wanted to have little Nick babies? We don’t. Well, I don’t anyway but I do realize there might be people out there that do. If there are, here’s the full scoop from US and for those who don’t, I’m sorry for the additional time you’ve wasted thinking about Nick Lachey.

The couple hooked up in 2006 — the year after Lachey split from wife Jessica Simpson.

In 2007, Minnillo told Us she wanted to have kids with Lachey: “I always say I want three boys and a girl, but at the end of the day, I just want healthy kids.”

Well, it looks like Vanessa will have to have those healthy babies with someone else. Pooh. What’s more interesting in Nick Lachey news is that he recently was making his way out of a restaurant when TMZ caught him and Vanessa on camera and started talking to them. Nick apparently wasn’t in the mood to be cordial and raced out of there as fast as possible - while managing to also be as rude as possible. Nice, Nick. You’d think a has-been would be a little nicer to those who still wanted to talk to him.
