Don’t Ya Just Love Jim Jenny?

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy are one of my favorite couples. At first, it was their anti-marriage stance that made me pay more attention to them. As far as I know, the two aren’t not getting married for political reasons, or taking any kind of “not until it’s legal for everyone!” stand, they just simply don’t see the point. And I say, hooray for them! I think that kind of thinking is refreshing in today’s world, when a couple is actually just doing what’s best for them and not trying to make some kind of statement about it.

Okay, more reasons to love Jim and Jenny. They also do oodles of good work, most of which is for autism, which Jenny’s son is affected by. They recently just hosted a poker tournament to raise money for the cause and People nabbed them long enough to talk about the event, and of course, to give them a chance to talk about their relationship, and give us even more reasons to love them. “Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy have been together four years – and they have a simple explanation about what makes their relationship work.

“Say what you mean,” McCarthy tells PEOPLE. “No one has the energy for mind games.”

“Jenny is the first person that I’ve been with where I don’t have a giant question mark over my head,” Carrey says at the Saturday Night Spectacular poker event he hosted with McCarthy at Miami’s Bank of America Tower.

But how do they keep their relationship on track? “Communication,” McCarthy says, before ticking off other important factors. “Being turned on by each other. Being each other’s soul mate.”

“When you’re not turned on, there’s generally something to talk about,” Carrey interjects. “So, it’s good to listen to that.”

Carrey, 48, and McCarthy, 37, hosted the event to raise funds for their autism organization, Generation Rescue. “This is so important,” Carrey says. “Everyone knows someone who has been touched by autism. It’s important to know that there is hope.”

It’s an issue that hits close to home for them both. McCarthy’s son, Evan, was diagnosed with autism in 2004. Since Carrey started dating McCarthy, he and Evan have developed a close bond. “I think a man who is good with children is sexy,” McCarthy says. “And Jim definitely is. He loves Evan so much.”

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, does the happy couple have any big plans? “I don’t know,” McCarthy says, before turning to Carrey. “What are we going to do?”

He just smiled: “Every day is Valentine’s Day, baby.”

I’d like to imagine that with these two, every day is Valentine’s Day. But I think because they’re so honest, it’s most likely not. Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy have always been quite open about their relationship, even though there’s not a whole ton of drama surrounding these two. They’ve also made it quite clear that they are in it for the long haul with each other – but that there will most likely never be a piece of paper to prove that.

Trouble in Paradise for Ashlee and Pete?

I have never been happier to see a headline about a Hollywood couple fighting! The story goes that this past Saturday, Ashlee Simpson went with her husband, Pete Wentz to celebrate the anniversary of his Chicago bar being open for one year. During the party, Pete was DJing, and Ashlee was  drinking. All of this led up to a major fight, which led to both Ashlee and Pete storming out. The story was first run on Perez Hilton’s website. It was then later denied on Ashlee’s Twitter page. So is it true? I certainly hope so.

I have no problem with Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz as a couple. With the exception that I kind of despise Pete Wentz. But I am happy to see that they are a normal couple who fights. Ever since they’ve gotten together, it’s been nothing but puppy-dog eyes and roses and well, I’m just happy to see that they don’t live in some fairy tale land where there’s never any disgruntlement. It makes them seem more human to me. From Contact Music,

“Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is said to have rowed with ”horrible” husband Pete Wentz at a party at his bar in Chicago and insisted he take her home early.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz called her husband “horrible” during a drunken public argument.

The ‘Outta My Head’ star is said to have rowed with Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz during his DJ set at his Chicago bar Angels and Kings at a party to mark the venue being open for a year on Saturday (15.08.09).

After aiming a series of series of barbed comments at Pete, Ashlee insisted he took her home early.

A source told gossip blogger Perez Hilton: “Pete was in the DJ booth when Ashlee came up completely wasted and yelled at him to leave. They fought, she told him he was horrible in front of a whole group of people and made him leave his own party early. So they make a scene and leave the bar.”

Sources say Ashlee was “beyond drunk” and the pair continued to argue as they left.

When someone tried to take a photo of the couple, Ashlee “chased the guy down the street and made him erase the pictures”.

The couple - who have a 10-month-old son Bronx - were then ushered into a car by their security team and taken home.

Ashlee, 24, has since denied she and 30-year-old Pete rowed at the bar.

Writing on her Twitter page she tells Perez: “Your story is WAY off. my husband is an amazing dj and was dedicating songs to me. We were just havin fun. Our love is amazing. (sic)”

Perez insisted the story was accurate, posting on his own micro blog: “I don’t want to name names and get people fired but several of the people I spoke with work at Angels and Kings. I’m not wrong.”

This is not the first time Ashlee has been caught up in a drunken altercation.

In June, the singer had a public row with Pete’s ex-girlfriend Michelle Trachtenberg during a night out in Los Angeles.

A source said at the time: “Ashlee was staring directly at Michelle and starting hurling insults at her. She was grinding up on Pete like a stripper. It was actually pretty disgusting!”

Ashlee later apologised for her behaviour.”

So, is there some truth to the story? Or is it really just Perez doing whatever he needs to do for a story? Well, as much as I hate to agree with Perez, I do think this story is probably true. And I don’t understand why Ashlee would try to deny it. Maybe she’s just embarrassed about being that drunk? Maybe she thinks it’s wrong to call your husband horrible? Maybe all of those things are true. But hey, who doesn’t have a few too many once in awhile? And I’m sure any married couple would be the first to tell you that sometimes, you say things that you just don’t mean. Either way, denying it only makes Ashlee look lame. And pretending that you have this over-the-top marriage that never sees trouble, is only fooling yourself. Someone should tell Ashlee that you can fight with your husband occasionally and still have a fabulous marriage.

David Beckham Overreacts in Wife’s Defense

David Beckham is serious about two things: soccer, and his family. He’s managed to keep things in balance this past week. Early in the week, while his wife Victoria was away playing on swings during a photo shoot, David took his boys shopping in Hollywood. A few days later he played a game for the LA Galaxy in Kansas City and snapped at a fan who made ‘disgraceful’ comments about his wife, Victoria. It seems that David tried to brush it off after almost getting caught up in the heat of the moment, but afterwards, he still seemed pretty angry. From Daily Mail,

“Here we go again! These days it seems David Beckham is intent on getting more attention for run-ins with angry fans at his matches than for his footwork on the pitch.
Yesterday the football superstar had yet another unfriendly face-to-face with an angry spectator at a Kansas City game - this time to defend wife Victoria Beckham’s honour.

This comes a mere few days after that now infamous encounter with a riled up LA Galaxy fan - now banned for life - who refused to shake his hand.
David looked upset as he went up to the man who was wearing an England shirt during the LA Galaxy’s game at Kansas City Wizards on Saturday claiming he was bad-mouthing his wife Victoria.

David could be heard during the match - broadcast live on U.S TV - shouting to the fan: ‘Is that an England shirt?’

But rather than have an angry war of words to defend his wife’s honour, he held out his hand for a handshake in what appeared a friendly gesture and a peace offering.

David made sure there was no repeat of the bust-up, which marred last weekend’s friendly with AC Milan and saw him fined $1,000 (USD) by Major League Soccer.
Later, however, he branded the fan a ‘disgrace’ for allegedly hurling insults about Posh.
When asked about the incident in an interview immediately after the final whistle, he blasted: ‘He shouldn’t actually be wearing that shirt because what he was saying about my wife was a disgrace.’
But he was clearly disappointed with the fan, who appeared to be holding a can of drink.
David was again booed by sections of the sell-out 10,000-plus crowd at the ground, which is actually a minor league baseball stadium.
But there was still plenty of support for the England star, who signed autographs for fans after helping the rejuvenated Galaxy come from a goal behind to draw 1-1.”

I don’t know much about the world of soccer so I’m not sure if I’m right here. But I don’t think it’s necessary to call a fan out during the middle of a game and then later say that they aren’t even fit to be a fan. Seriously! That might be a slight overreaction. I also think that David Beckham is just a touch too arrogant for his own good to begin with so, this type of behavior only backs up my theory. I am glad to see that he really does love his wife, and that he’s really ready to fight for her, should the need arise. I just think he needs to start choosing his time and place better, and maybe not be ready for a fight all the time.

The Latest Lindsay Rumor

Normally, I tend to disbelieve all of the Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson rumors, although they did have me after that big blowout fight on New Year’s Eve. But even though those breakup rumors didn’t turn out to be true, it’s no secret that at least ever since then, the two haven’t been the happy, happy couple that we’re used to seeing. And while I’m still pretty objective and level-headed about all the other garbage, there are a few things about this newest Lindsay rumor that have me thinking. However, combat that with the fact that it’s OK! reporting, a tabloid which has recently been notorious for getting things wrong, and it all may just add up to nothing after all. You be the judge. “While the cat’s away, the mice play — that’s how the saying goes, at least. And, though she’s denying any trouble in her romance with girlfriend Sam Ronson, Lindsay Lohan has only been feeding the rumor mill with her behavior.

See, while Sam has been recuperating from an alleged ear infection in Los Angeles, Lindsay’s been party-hopping, and according to TMZ, that includes a 6am pop-in visit to the Big Apple apartment of Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford.

While the I Know Who Killed Me star denied any illicit goings-on with Sir Chace of Sexyshire, there is a bit of little-known history between the two young stars.

Back in Oct. 2008, Linds made no secret of her crush on Chace. The twosome met at the Diesel XXX Rock Party in NYC and swapped numbers and an insider tells OK! that Lindsay texted Chace nonstop.

“She has a habit of over texting people, especially when she’s attracted to them which is what happened with Chace. She’d have insomnia and he’d wake up to 5 or 6 text messages asking what he was up to. She has a habit of getting bored in the middle of the night and likes to flirt and get attention in order to keep her busy. Chace never acted on some of the things she suggested like meeting up, it was a little stalker like and creepy to be honest. He was just trying to be friendly!”

The fact that Lindsay would become text-obsessed doesn’t surprise me. She was also rumored to be doing the same thing with Mike Phelps, right around the time he won 47 medals at the Olympics. The fact that she likes to be the center of attention also shouldn’t surprise anyone as she is a known drama queen. What interests me here is not whether or not Lindsay has become Crawford’s new stalker but how much longer we have to wait until Lindsay and Sam finally and officially pull the plug on their relationship.

While I do agree with Celebitchy that the two are just keeping it going with no real feelings to back it up, I don’t think Lindsay’s staying with her just for publicity. I have a feeling that Sam is waiting for Linds to just finally let go and she’s having a problem with that. She’s not the most stable girl to begin with and now she also has a sexual identity crisis on her hands, as well as losing the person who she probably had her first real relationship. It definitely can’t be easy being Lindsay but I think it’s time she finds out exactly who that is.

Another Aniston Interview

In all of her promotioin for both He’s Just Not That Into You and Marley & Me, Jennifer Aniston has been doing a whirlwind of interviews and has certainly gotten people talking. In the December 12th issue of Entertainment Weekly she touches on the pregnancy rumors although, ‘touching’ may be a bit mild of a term to use. She actually harshly, aggressively, and lewdly talks about the rumors and why they make her so angry. From Pop Crunch,

“Jennifer Aniston is pulling out the potty mouth to get tabloid snitches to quit starting pregnancy rumors about her.

“It’s almost going to take away the fun from actually being able to say one day, ‘I’m pregnant!’” the Marley & Me star told Entertainment Weekly in the magazine’s December 12 issue. “Everyone will be like, ‘Yeah, right.’ It’s the boy who cried wolf. Stop stealing my thunder, motherfuckers!”

Aniston has been back for a long time and by ‘back’ I mean has gotten out of the dark place she seemed to be in after her marriage fell apart. But with all this new promotion she seems to be taking it to a new level. We have seen her being confident, not giving a damn what people say about her or think about her, and really speaking her mind about what bugs her and what she loves. Aniston is one of those fabulous women that can be both one of the classiest women in all of Hollywood and yet, remain so real that sometimes, she gets mad and a swear falls out of her mouth. And do we even need to talk about how she looks? To. Die. For.

Jodie Sweetin and Cody Herpin: Divorced!

This is truly a heartbreaker. With their daughter only eight months old and after only 16 months of marriage, Jodie Sweetin and her husband, Cody Herpin have filed for divorce. From People via the Pop Crunch,

“Sweetin’s agent, Stella Alex, says the actress is “absolutely clean” and that the couple have “come to this path in their life and she felt like this is the way she had to go. Jodie says it’s unfortunate but it’s just what has to happen right now. No more detail, only because she says she doesn’t want to be disrespectful to him.”

Well it certainly sounds as though things ended amicably enough but it’s so sad to see such a young family split up like this. Sweetin made her appearance back into the spotlight after her years on Full House when she got hooked on meth and became one of Hollywood’s party girls. She straightened up her act, got married last summer, and until now, seemed perfectly happy and healthy. I guess we’ll find it all out in her tell-all book that she’ll soon be releasing, which currently has the working title of Wild Cards.

Violet and Daddy

We so often see Jennifer Garner toting around sweet little Violet that it’s nice to see Ben Affleck getting in some quality time as he drops the little flower off for preschool. Ben looks just as Jen always looks as she takes Violet to her numerous events on the social calendar: slightly unorganized, trying to juggle everything all at once, and very, very happy! Paris Gets Royally Snubbed

Paris Hilton isn’t used to people ignoring her. But then she may have never tried to impress a Prince before. The heiress showed up to London club Whisky Mist last night while Princes William and Harry were also in attendance.

Paris apparently headed over to the boys in a bid to get their attention, but Harry was having none of it. According to on-lookers, he tried to ignore her, concentrating on his pals instead.  At this point, she even started to do a sexy dance in front of him, until he finally stood up to shake her hand. He then just wandered off, and Paris looked a bit annoyed.

Paris apparently tried the same thing with William, but again, to no avail. Looks like they won’t be your new BFFs Paris, sorry!

Queen of Pop Calls it Quits With Hubby

Looks like the rumors are true. In spite of them declaring otherwise for months, Madonna’s publicist confirmed the pop star and Guy Ritchie are splitting.

The couple has been together for nearly eight years -a record in Hollywood! - and has two kids together, eight-year-old son, Rocco, and a three-year-old son adopted in Malawi, David Banda. Madonna also has a daughter, 12-year-old Lourdes, by her former fitness trainer Carlos Leon.

According to Yahoo!News, the confirmation followed a report in Britain’s Sun tabloid quoting a source who said Ritchie, 40, had pushed for the split.

A “highly placed sourced” told the Sun that the couple “just couldn’t live together anymore” after arguing incessantly over the amount of time devoted to their respective careers and Madonna’s desire to adopt another child.

Presley’s Twins’ Names Revealed

Lisa Marie Presley has settled on names for her twins: Finley and Harper.  The publicist for the 40-year-old singer, confirmed the names  a week after Presley, gave birth by C-section  in LA.

Presley is married to Michael Lockwood, and also has a 19-year-old daughter, Riley, and a 15-year-old son, Benjamin, from her marriage to musician Danny Keough, which ended in 1994. She was briefly married to Michael Jackson and to Nicolas Cage.
