Simon Cowell’s the Marrying Kind After All!

Normally, I wouldn’t think that Simon Cowell getting engaged is such a big deal. I know he has this image as being this untamable player, but even with all the money and cars and mansions, but I just never really cared one way or another. But, not only has some woman tamed him, but it comes not that long after he broke up with another woman who wanted to do the exact same thing. That woman was Terri Seymour and she and Simon broke up in 2008 amidst rumors that Simon was a cheater and that Terri was tired of waiting for him to marry her. Oh the scandal! Now I’m interested!

It was shortly after Terri and Simon broke up that Mezhgan Hussainy appeared on Idol as a makeup artist or hairstylist or ‘Simon’s new work friend’, or something. Now, a couple of years later and yes, the two are getting hitched. I bet hell hath no fury like Terri Seymour right now. From Radar Online,

“It’s official. Simon Cowell is getting married!

Beautiful Mezhgan Hussainy told RadarOnline.com exclusively that she and Simon are officially engaged.

Until now, there have been only whispers and rumors about the couple possibly getting married — but their plans have been a secret.

Meet Simon’s New Love Mezhgan Hussainy

But, gorgeous brunette Mezhgan told RadarOnline.com’s executive vice president David Perel that indeed, she and Simon are getting married.

Sporting a beautiful sparkling engagement ring, Mezhgan was all smiles as she told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the couple, who are living together, are officially engaged.

They met on American Idol several years ago and what began as friendship grew into love after Simon’s previous relationship ended.”

Well, at least they keep it interesting, I guess. Now, do we think this will last? I’m guessing no but Simon won’t be too put out if it ends badly. He’s currently getting things together to hand her over a prenup so she doesn’t take him for the whole $2 million he’s worth. Nuthin says love like reading fine print…

Simon Cowell may have a Soft Spot

December 1st, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Simon Cowell, Terri Seymour

I’ve always thought that Simon Cowell would be the type of person to have the attitude of, ‘Well, it’s your loss anyway,’ in the event of a breakup. He just seems so arrogant and like the type to think that his next conquest was right around the corner anyway. But it seems as though he may be hurting a little more from his recent split from Terri Seymour than I thought he would be. From People,

“Cowell also opened up about his recent split with longtime girlfriend Terri Seymour. “I take it day by day, that’s the only thing you can do,” Cowell said. “You just get through the day. I’ve given myself years on this one. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it’s a day-by-day struggle.”

I imagine it would be hard for anybody when a relationship ends because of things that are out of either person’s control, such as just wanting different things. There’s no scandal or betrayal to cloud the feelings of love for the person and so maybe that can actually make the breakup even harder. Although it is sad to see these two break up, it’s nice to see that Simon does have a soft spot and that he’s spending time grieving for the relationship that he spent six years of his life in.

Simon Cowell and Terri Seymour are Finished!

I think being the girlfriend of Simon Cowell must be one of the most interesting and infuriating experiences there could be but Terri Seymour enjoyed it for six years before calling it quits with the super nasty and super honest judge from American Idol. Apparently, it’s just a classic case of one wants kids and the other doesn’t. And guess which one wants the kids? It sure as heck isn’t Simon! Although I do think that Simon would make a great family man, he’s made it quite clear on several occasions that he is one bachelor that will forever remain so. This is what Bumpshack reports on the split,

“Simon Cowell and Terri Seymour, his girlfriend of six years, have split according to Cowell’s talking head. The split took place back in September when Seymour decided to end it with the popular American Idol judge.

”Terri phoned Simon and finished it in September, about six weeks ago,” says Cowell’s rep, Max Clifford. “They are going to remain close friends. Simon thinks the world of Terri and that isn’t going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it.”

The couple were together for six years. Seymour, 34, first met Cowell, 48, when she was 18, but the couple didn’t begin dating until she interviewed him for a show in 2002.

“In the past Terri has said that she wants kids but that just isn’t Simon,” added Clifford. “Nobody else is involved, certainly not on Simon’s side.”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for this amicable split business that they seem to want the public to believe but the way this break-up has been handled seems very odd to me. First of all, why does Terri Seymour think that it’s okay to break up with your long-term boyfriend over the phone? Does six years really not deserve more than that? And the way Simon’s reps are talking clearly indicate that they are only concerned with making sure that he comes out of this looking like some kind of understanding, non-cheater in that they specifically mention that there ‘was nobody else involved,’ and then kindly add, ‘certainly not on Simon’s side.’ I don’t think it’s necessary to allude to the fact that nobody cheated, unless it’s a case of protesting too much. And to further go on and say that at least definitely not on his side, as if to say that there was probably somebody else on Terri’s side of things. My guess is that underneath the surface of this warm and fuzzy split, there are some very bitter feelings and subtle shots are being taken.
