Chris Daughtry Expecting Twins!

I love stories about celebrities expecting. And I love stories about celebrities using a surrogate even more. Don’t ask me why. I think it has something to do with the fact that people with such a huge challenge have found a way to overcome it, and will be rewarded with beautiful and wonderful children. And, I really, really love Chris Daughtry, so this story has me over the moon!

Yes, Chris Daughtry and his wife Deanna are not only expecting a baby through surrogacy, they’re expecting twins! And just like all good celebrities these days, Chris announced the news on his website. From Daughtry Official,

“Chris and his wife Deanna Daughtry are proud to announce that they are expecting twins this November. Due to Deanna’s partial hysterectomy in 2006 the couple used IVF and had their embryos transferred to a gestational surrogate, the babies will join the couples’ other children – Hannah and Griffin.

“Deanna and I are overjoyed about this double blessing,” says Chris. “Thank you for your expressions of love and support and for respecting for our privacy during this special time.”

I am happy for them but, I’m also a little confused over the ‘respect our privacy’ bit. I mean, don’t stars say that when they’re going through a really difficult time and don’t want to be bothered? And are the paparazzi really beating down their door? I mean, Chris Daughtry may be a big star, but there are definitely bigger ones out there. And I just don’t get why the demand for privacy. It just seems odd to me. Maybe they’re scared that what happened with Sarah Jessica Parker’s surrogate will happen to them.

Well, in all attempts to respect their privacy, I’d like to congratulate Chris and Deanna! Maybe once those sweet little babies are born, Chris will post pictures up on his website too. Here’s hoping!

First Pics of Sarah Jessica Parker’s & Matthew Broderick’s Girls!

It’s so nice on a day that is filled with news about Michael Jackson’s will and Farrah Fawcett’s funeral that we can turn to lighter - and much happier! - news. It was just days ago that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick welcomed their twin girls, Marion and Tabitha and they have already released the first family picture! As most first baby pics go, this one is just adorable! I love how James Wilkie seems in such awe of the tiny bundles while Sarah Jessica and Matthew are just eating their family up! Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick are Parents Again!

The much anticipated birth of the twin girls of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick has finally happened! The twin baby girls were born in Ohio, presumably early today or yesterday, although the Daily Mail doesn’t specify. We do know however, that everyone is doing well and that the Parker/Broderick clan are thrilled to finally have those babies here! I bet Michelle Ross, the surrogate, is also extremely thrilled! Not only is she no longer pregnant but maybe her private life will return to being private. The Daily Mail has more details on the birth,

“Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have become the proud parents of twin girls delivered by a surrogate mother.
The newborns, named Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick, were said to be ‘doing beautifully’, according to the couple’s publicist.
The Sex and the City star and her actor husband, who have been unable to conceive since the birth of their son, were said to be ‘over the moon’ about the news.
Marion was born weighing 5lbs 11oz, while Tabitha weighed 6lbs.
Parker and Broderick revealed in April that they were hoping to expand their family and had previously confirmed that they were expecting twins by surrogate mother Michelle Ross.
The Hollywood couple already have a son, James Wilkie Broderick, who is 6.
‘Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters,’ a spokesman for the couple told website Access Hollywood.
‘Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.’
The babies were born at the East Ohio Regional Hospital in the U.S. and a hospital spokesman said ‘everything’s good’. It was reported that Parker and Broderick were on hand for the birth of their twins, although the hospital would not comment on this.
The twins were reportedly delivered a few weeks ahead of schedule.”

It’s not unusual that twins would be born early. There’s usually an added risk with any kind of multiples and twins usually mean automatic C-section, which would be another reason for an early delivery. The good news is that they are here and that is extremely exciting! I’m so glad that Sarah Jessica and Matthew picked out beautiful names for their girls. I hate it when celebs decide to go wonky. Hopefully we’ll soon see the first pics to get a look at these beauties!

The Price of Being a Surrogate

Ever since the news that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were having twin girls via a surrogate, said surrogate has had no privacy. Worse than that, she’s had her home broken into! All so that someone, namely some police chiefs, could get their hands on a recording of Sarah Jessica’s voice leaving personal messages. People never cease to amaze me. From TMZ,

“The burglars allegedly sent to the home of Sarah Jessica Parker’s surrogate were on the hunt for voice mail messages left by SJP, according to sources.

A law enforcement source tells us cops have hard evidence to prove that the police chiefs under investigation were in on the plot. We’re told the investigation will take 2 - 3 weeks to complete.”

So I’m guessing that it’s the police chiefs that were investigating the original burglary that are now under investigation, although the wording is kind of weird. Whoever it was, I can’t imagine wanting a celebrity’s voice on tape so badly that you would break into a woman’s home to get it. Even if you weren’t a fan, you just saw a cash cow, I can’t imagine wanting anything that badly enough. People are crazy.

I’ll bet that woman, whoever she is, will be more happy than most women giving birth, to finally get those babies out of her and maybe go back to leading a normal life. Hopefully anyways. It won’t be long now! Sarah Jessica’s and Matthew’s little girls are due at the end of the summer!

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Surrogate has no Privacy

I imagine that when you agree to become the surrogate for uber-celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, one of your biggest concerns is that your life will not be the same for at least 9 months of your life. Not only are you pregnant but you’re pregnant for famous people, which kinda puts you at the top of the paparazzi’s “Most Wanted” list. These concerns are certainly valid and reason for them has become obvious to the surrogate of Sarah Jessica and Matthew, who now not only has zero privacy but has also had the people she loves threatened as well.

It seems that the threats have not only made people over at the couple’s camp pay more attention to the security of this woman, but also of the new babies once they are born and Sarah Jessica sounds like she’s understandably, quite upset about having such a wonderful event such as two births be tarnished by such horrible things. “Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that husband Matthew Broderick is “furious” about the privacy of their surrogate being invaded.

The woman carrying the couple’s twin daughters has allegedly had her phone and computer hacked, as well as threats made against her family and friends by the tabloid media.

Talking about Broderick’s reaction to the incidents, Parker told Access Hollywood: “He’s furious. He’s angry. He doesn’t need to know what’s upsetting me right now. It does him no good. He can’t help me. He will only worry.”

The Sex And The City star, 44, added that she does not want to think about a security plan once the babies arrive, but realises that it is a necessity.

“I don’t want to look at the delivery of our children that way, but I have been forced to for the last 48 hours… you know, everything has changed,” she said.

“I don’t want to forget in all of this to celebrate these little girls coming home.”

I don’t think there’s any worry that people will forget to celebrate their arrival no matter what…something tells me that Sarah Jessica just wouldn’t let that happen. But it is too bad to hear that such awful things are happening at a time that should only bring joy and happiness. The babies aren’t due until this summer so I wonder why the couple came out so early with the news? I imagine that they would hold off on coming out with it for as long as possible, and I would also think that you would be able to do this longer when surrogacy plays a part of things. Don’t get me wrong - I love Sarah Jessica Parker and I’m sure she had her reasons. I’m just nosy and want to know what they were!

Matthew and Sarah Jessica are Getting Ready!

Matthew Broderick recently appeared on Letterman, where they both talked about the recent announcement that Matthew was going to be having twin girls with his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker. Matthew opened up on how he’s nervous about having little pink things all over the house while they also talked about James Wilkie’s reaction to the bundles that are soon to arrive!  ”Matthew Broderick, who is expecting twin daughters with wife Sarah Jessica Parker, insists, “Yeah, I’m ready” – well, almost.

“Oh man, I’m nervous just even thinking about it,” the actor, 47, said Friday on the Late Show with David Letterman, in his first interview since he and Parker, 44, announced they are having twins via a surrogate.

“You know, I’ve asked people, ‘What’s it like to have twins?’” Broderick tells Letterman. “One father said, ‘I don’t recommend it,’ but the rest have been very positive.”

As for the couple’s 6-year-old son James Wilkie, “He’s pretty excited” – and already making a shopping list, according to Broderick. “He said, ‘We have to get a lot of princess toys.’ “

Princess toys, yes, they are a definite must. But what I would be more concerned about is the fact that there are two of them, as Dave mentioned himself during the interview. I have no doubt that Sarah Jessica and Matthew will handle it beautifully and flawlessly. Sarah Jessica’s Sex & the City costar and friend, Mario Cantone was also quoted as saying that she’s been waiting for a little girl for a very long time. And now she’s getting two of them! I can just imagine what princesses they’ll turn out to be! Can you imagine inheriting SJP’s Manolo collection? Oh. My. God.

Sarah Jessica and Matthew Broderick to Have Twins!

I never really thought that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were getting divorce. I did think that their marriage was on shaky grounds and that SJP was going through a pretty miserable time. I also thought all of this galavanting about the town arm in arm like the happy couple was a load of bull but if it was all a facade, they have taken it to a new level. The two, who are already parents to James Wilkie who is 6, are about to have twin girls, born via a surrogate. From Gossip Girls,

The couple are expecting twin daughters - being their second and third children, as they have a six-year-old son named James Wilkie.

Making the announcement earlier today (April 28), SJP and Matthew said that they weree “happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed.

Let me tell you I’m so happy that they chose to go through a surrogate. Not only because I have both considered using one myself and being one but also because had it not been for this additional piece of information, I may only to just be able to stand gape-mouthed and wondering what kind of virtual reality I had just entered. This news come less than a year after Matthew’s reported affair last summer, which seems really soon to me to be having children. Could the reports of the affair really been false? Maybe Matthew was just seen speaking to this woman who was to incubate his children for 9 months? Who knows really but this does tempt me to believe it was all really just rumor in the first place. 

Whatever the case, they are obviously in a very good place now as they prepare for the arrival of their twin girls. Congratulations Sarah Jessica and Matthew, and James Wilkie too!

Sarah Jessica’s Obvious Mistake

Sarah Jessica Parker has been under much scrutiny lately after the affair her husband, Matthew Broderick, had became public knowledge this past summer. Many assumed that she would immediately leave the actor but through it all, Sarah Jessica has stood by her man. Will it last? Who knows but if this marriage is doomed, SJP may just have something to blame it all on - her wedding attire. Parker wore a black dress to her wedding and to this day, after almost 12 years of marriage, she still regrets it. From Celebrity Baby Scoop,

Sarah Jessica, 43, relays a recent conversation on the topic with her 7-year-old son James,

“James Wilkie’s teacher is getting married, and he said, ‘Do you think she will be wearing black?’ I said, ‘No! I can almost assure you.’ Then he said, ‘Do you still regret it?’ and I said, ‘Yes, I still regret it.’”

It seems pretty obvious to me that if you’re at all superstitious, you shouldn’t wear black on your wedding day although I have personally known many brides that have chosen black and they are still happily married to the same person today. I do feel bad that Sarah Jessica regrets her choice of a wedding gown. Only because it’s supposed to be the biggest day of your life and especially for the bride, what you’re wearing is such a huge part of it! For any woman to regret her choice of wedding attire is bad but for Sarah Jessica, who has become a fashion goddess in the eyes of many, man! She must just kick herself over and over again. Well so far, it seems to be working out okay for her anyway.

Dare SJP Say She’s Happy?

It came as a huge shock this summer when it came out that Matthew Broderick had cheated on his wife and the mother to his child, Sarah Jessica Parker. Poor Sarah Jessica looked so sad every time we saw her out and about and I’m not talking a pathetic kind of sad just sad like a woman who didn’t know where it all went so wrong. And ever since the story broke, there have been rumors of a breakup and counseling, or not counseling. Just a few weeks ago it was reported that Sarah Jessica was actually moving out of their New York apartment. But if that’s true, she did a damn good job of hiding the fact that she’s miserable because she appeared on the arm of her still-hubby on Thursday, when they went out as a couple to enjoy a New York show. What I love about this is that they both look happy and it doesn’t seem as a ploy to put on a big show for the media. I would’ve gone either way with my favorite New Yorker on this one and was prepared to hate Broderick for the rest of my life. But maybe I liked him too much to begin with because if she can forgive him, so can I.

Parker seemed more than happy with more than just her marriage recently as she gushed about the new Sex & the City movie and even more recently, about America’s new style icon, Michelle Obama, and her inauguration dress. From the Gossip Girls,

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, the Carrie Bradshaw cutie recently is readying up for another go at “Sex and the City” - as all four ladies are reportedly on-board.

“Not all the contracts are signed, but everyone is on board. It just happened.” And all four ladies are getting hefty raises for this one,” an insider tells.

On a side note, SJP also recently commented on how much she loved First Lady Michelle Obama’s white Jason Wu gown from Tuesday’s inauguration ball.

She tells: “She’s perfection. I am a great admirer of her support of American designers. I think she will be great for the business of American fashion and fashion designers. But she will do extraordinary work for Americans in general. They are exceptional people and just happen to both be beautiful. What a wonderful combination.”

What I love about this is that Sarah Jessica really does seem to be getting back to the woman, inside and outside of Carrie Bradshaw, that we all have known and loved for so long. Hearing one style icon talking about another with such passion proves that Sarah Jessica may just be getting back to her old self and whether or not they ended up going to counseling, or didn’t, I’m glad to see that she and Matthew really do seem to be making a good go of it. Sarah Jessica Parker looks happy once again and that makes me happy.

Some Divorces are more than Sad

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are getting a divorce. Are you surprised? Probably not because I don’t think anyone’s surprised about this one. Although there have been rumors for months and months and months about these two being headed for Splitsville, they actually started in March, when it was told that they would divorce but that Madonna wanted to make as much money as she could first. See here to read when we first told of their impending divorce. However, they continued to make ridiculous appearances and tried to come off as a happy couple. This absolutely disgusts me as it’s just one more way that celebrities have dangled a piece of information in front of us and then continually denied it - did I mention for months and months and months? I don’t mind that celebs like to keep some things on the down-low as it is their private lives and really, none of our business. But here’s an idea - keep your mouth shut about it until you make the official announcement! Not only that but outright lying to her fans by saying things such as ‘her marriage doesn’t need saving’ and denying that there are any problems is just disrespectful to her fans - of which I used to be one. It’s a shame that when there’s people out there trying to make an honest (and discreet) go of their marriage, such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, these two are making a mockery of the whole institution! Ritchie could make out quite nicely from their breakup, pocketing as much as $100 million of the popster’s estimated $500 million-plus fortune since the twosome did not have a prenuptial agreement.”

Okay, and I also didn’t realize that Madonna was stupid enough to not have a prenuptial agreement. I know love is blind but considering that she also went through a divorce with Sean Penn, she should know the ins and outs and what should be done before any marriage certificate is signed. Honestly, I think Madonna may have lost her mind on this one. I secretly hope that Guy makes out like a bandit on this one, which he most likely will, as the Material Girl has lost a fan on this one.
