I really expected better of Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan, who at the age of 45, looks hotter than just about any woman in Hollywood. Apparently, she rang this year in by canoodling with none other than David Spade. Eeeewwww. Granted, David is a funny man but it ends there. He is neither charming nor in any way attractive. And what makes it double ‘eeeewwww’ is the fact that this is not even a case of Sheridan getting so drunk that she didn’t realize what was happening - she actually meant to do this! “Nicollette Sheridan had a special guest at her party to ring in turning 45 – a possible new beau in David Spade.

Celebrating her birthday at new L.A. hot spot Luau with Desperate Housewives costars Felicity Huffman, onscreen husband Neal McDonough and Kyle MacLachlan, the newly single Sheridan at first played it coy with her man of the evening.

“They arrived separately and even started dinner at different booths,” says an onlooker. It was a familiar scene: The duo were spotted a couple of weeks ago at the restaurant’s opening, where they spent the night in deep conversation. This time, though, things got a little more intimate.

“They cuddled and kissed,” says an onlooker. “They were full-on making out in a booth.”

I probably wouldn’t have had much of a problem with this six months ago, before Spade acted burdened at the thought of becoming a dad when he found out, after extensive biological testing, that he would be doign just that. It was around that same time that I lost all respect for him. I really didn’t think that Sheridan was a desperate housewife but apparently, she’s got one part of that equation right. This is so obviously a complete rebound from her split with Michael Bolton back in August and I hope she gets over it - and quick!

There is really nothing to say about this story except that it’s true that Michael Bolton and Nicollette Sheridan have split up. These two were very serious about each other and had been dating for a total of eight years, on and off again, with the last two years overseeing their engagement that was announced in 2006. Their reps aren’t talking so whatever happened between these two will remain between them…at least for the time being. From Reuters,

“Desperate Housewives” star Nicollette Sheridan and singer Michael Bolton have called off their engagement, the actress’ spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

Bolton, 55, and Sheridan, 44, started dating in 1992 but broke up five years later. They revived their relationship three years ago and announced their engagement in 2006.

“Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement,” Nicole Perna, a publicist for the actress, said in a statement.

“They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter,” Perna said.”

This is quite sad I think only because Bolton is so well-known for his love songs that speak of a greater love than many of us will ever know. It just makes you think that if someone who seems to know love so personally can’t make it work, then what hope do the rest of us have? Well these two have found their way back to each other before so maybe they can do it again. Michael in the meanwhile, can sing sad love songs.
