Is Derek Jeter Getting Married?

I’m not a big baseball fan. I have to admit, before Alex Rodriguez started dating Madonna, I only vaguely knew who he was. But I definitely didn’t know what he team he played for, and I still couldn’t tell you what position he plays. The same goes for Derek Jeter, but even more so. I had no clue who he was, the name rung absolutely no bells. So the fact that he had gotten engaged didn’t even faze me, let alone shake my world. But apparently, it shook the worlds of many.

Derek Jeter apparently, is this huge ladies man, let alone being the Captain of the New York Yankees, and some kind of superstar in that area too. But the news that he had finally decided to settle down with one woman, after being notorious for sleeping around, was big news to some. I wasn’t interested until I heard that Derek Jeter may not actually be engaged, let alone planning a wedding in the near future. Then I became very interested. Even though it may not be to me, that’s big news to muck up. Here People has a rundown of the debate as to whether or not Derek Jeter is engaged,

“Somehow it’s hard to picture: Derek Jeter picking out place settings and flower arrangements in between chasing another World Series title.

But that’s the word from his hometown paper, the New York Post, which reports the Big Apple’s most eligible bachelor for a long time is finally going to settle down with a November 5 wedding to Minka Kelly.

Never mind that the pair haven’t even confirmed they’re engaged, or that the run-up to baseball’s Fall Classic may cut into the Yankee star’s wedding-planning commitments: the ceremony is supposedly scheduled for two days after the end of the World Series. Not to mention, the Yankees still have to make it to the Series for the scheduling conflict to be an issue.

Their reps so far have not commented, and the news reports that have come since conflict. An NBC Sports blog thinks the wedding is for Jeter’s sister, not him, while Sports Illustrated reports that not only is the wedding true, but they’ve known about it for weeks.”

Usually a story that says the reps aren’t talking tells me that the story is true. And it’s hard to say because all of these sources are reputable enough to believe. But, there’s just something about this that just doesn’t ring true to me. Why would Jeter plan a wedding just days after the ending of the World Series? And, the couple hasn’t even confirmed that they’re engaged so, how did we jump to a wedding later this year? So, Derek Jeter probably isn’t engaged? Or maybe he is but the media has gotten the date wrong? Who knows at this point but I’m starting to feel sorry that I got involved in the first place.

Cutie Watch: Gwyn, Apple and Moses

I’m not really a huge fan of Gwyneth Paltrow. And to be honest, it’s not even really her fault. It’s her super close relationship with Madonna and the fact that she gives her children ridiculous names that makes me cringe every time I hear her name. But, walking down the streets of London with her two very cute children, Apple and Moses, it’s clear that even though Gwyn may not be all that perfect in my eyes, she certainly has some very cute kids! And it’s clear that they’re happy and healthy, so I guess it doesn’t really matter what their names are. Thanks to Pop Sugar for the pic and caption!

The Latest on Madonna and Jesus

I was just thinking that it’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything about Madonna and whoever her current love interest is. And to be honest, I was sort of happy about it. But, just when I was thinking that we were all getting a reprieve from all things Madonna, she’s popped back up in the tabloids. And apparently, she’s still with Jesus. Not only that, but she’s also still acting like his Sugar Momma. According to the latest story, anyway, which claims that she just bought him his own home in NYC. I don’t get this, wasn’t Jesus living with her? Was there a lover’s quarrel? From Pop Crunch,

The Material Girl is reportedly splashing out an impressive sum for a NYC loft for 23-year-old Brazilan model Jesus Luz.

Madonna is buying Jesus an apartment in New York. She has her real estate agent searching for the perfect pad for him in the new neighbourhood where she has just moved,” a tipster tattled to Britain’s The Sun newspaper on Thursday.

“….She is financing everything but Jesus will own it once it’s found and bought She really wasn’t kidding when she told him he’ll never have to worry about money from now on,” the snitch spilled.”

That’s nice. A relationship that’s built purely on an old woman lusting after a young Brazilian hottie, and a Brazilian hottie that’s more than willing to let an old woman pay for everything in his life. Good, that sounds healthy. Honestly, I’ve gotten so sick and freakin tired of Madonna that I don’t really care who she’s buying what for.

Guy Ritchie is Still In Love with Madonna

There’s no talk of a reunion here but apparently, Guy Ritchie is still very much in love with Madonna. In a recent interview, the London director spoke about his feelings for his ex-wife and swooned and swooned about the pop star’s physical capabilities, saying that Madonna could out-dance and out-move any 23-year-old. He also talked about how hard the divorce was for him and that apparently, people were telling him to just get over it. The interview comes from Contact Music,

“Guy Ritchie has revealed he has struggled to cope with his divorce from Madonna, and admits he still loves her.

Guy Ritchie says he still loves “retarded” Madonna.

The British film director has deep feelings for his ex-wife – who he split from last year after almost eight years of marriage – and admits he has found the separation extremely difficult.

He said: “Here you go: I still love her. Of course, but she’s retarded, too.

“You can’t tell someone when they’re getting divorced that their pain is an illusion. I’m f***ing telling you, I feel it. I’ve been through that… No one can say you don’t feel that.”

The 41-year-old star – who raises three children with Madonna – also hugely admires the 51-year-old singer’s work ethic.

So I guess all those harsh words about marriage contracts and her ‘wrinkled and withered body’ were just comments made in the heat of the moment. The very fact that Guy is being so generous after the foolish way Madonna handled their divorce. She was the one cavorting with 20-year-olds and she was the one who was having flings with famous baseball players, probably even before they were married. This just goes to show that Guy Ritchie is too big of a man, and too good of a man, to be strapped to that wrinkled and withering body for the rest of his life.

Jesus Luz is Madonna’s New Protege

Back off, Britney Spears, Madonna has a new protege in the making and it’s none other than her former lover, Jesus Luz. Reportedly, Madonna dumped the much-younger man just a short while ago but that doesn’t mean that she’s lost interest in making him a star. I guess the modeling career that she had laid out for him didn’t go so well because Madge’s next step is to make Jesus a pop star. Yeah, I can just see it now, can’t you? In my vision of the whole thing, it looks like it will probably be much like Paris Hilton’s singing career. He’ll release maybe one single and we’ll only know that he has an album because we read about it somewhere. Oh, a pop star Jesus Luz is not. From Pop Crunch,

Well, Jesus really is Madge’s little project that just won’t quit, isn’t he? Unfortunately for him, it’s going to be difficult to replicate the impact Madonna has had on music. I don’t know if he’s looked in a mirror lately, but he’s much different than Madonna. Not to mention the fact that not even someone of the same sex can replicate Madonna. She can try as hard as she wants but if Madonna wants a protege, she might want to find another Britney (let’s face it, Brit doesn’t need a mentor anymore.) But Jesus Luz just ain’t gonna cut it.

Gwyneth Paltrow Likes to Remind Jen Garner She’s Still There

I’m really not a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow’s. She never does any movies that interest me in the least but mostly, she’s Madonna’s BFF, which means that she has a level of respect for that woman that I just can’t understand. Also, Gwyneth always seems to me to be the type of person that needs to be the picture of perfection wherever she goes. She can never have a hair out of place, and god forbid if her face doesn’t have that perfect, angelic glow that we all think of when we think of Gwyneth Paltrow. But, aside from my petty and shallow reasons to dislike the actress, there may be a new one that is somewhat legit.

According to Gossip Rocks, Gwyneth has been sending personal notes to her ex-flame, and now married man, Ben Affleck. The notes actually do sound harmless enough and Ben’s wife, Jennifer Garner, doesn’t seem to be acting like crazy wife person just yet but, it is clear that she’s not a fan of Ben still being contacted by some of his ex’s. “Gwyneth Paltrow is that kind of person who likes to stay friendly with her exes. Especially her ex Ben Affleck.
Friends tell FOX411 the star is big on sending personal notes and gifts for births and other major celebrations, and Ben and his wife Jennifer Garner have been on the lucky receiving end of such gifts.
“Ben and Jen got one of Gwyneth’s famous notes this year just after Seraphina was born,” says the insider. “It was very nice, but it was a little too personal. “Luckily, Gwyneth and Chris are barely in California three months out of the year, so Jen should not have to run into her too often at school,” says the insider. “The other moms already have a problem with the paparazzi following the Garner-Afflecks, and Gwyneth Paltrow will only make the situation worse.”
So far Garner, and Paltrow’s husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, are playing it cool with the Ben/Gwyneth thing. Martin is so laid back, says our source, he actually promotes Gwyneth to stay in touch with Ben. And Jen is taking his cue.
“Jen will always allow Ben to have contact and friendship with Gwyneth,” the pal says. “But she doesn’t always like it.”

There’s just no need to discuss the family you’ve always wanted with an ex. No reason for it whatsoever. Especially when he’s just had his second child with his wife. A wife who, by the way, he seems to be perfectly happy with. I’m not sure if this story is true or just made up high school crap but, I definitely can see Gwyneth doing some like this. She does seem like she’s got that sneaky side to her that’ll hit you when you least expect it. And, I can’t see Jennifer Garner putting her foot down and forbidding her husband to speak to certain people. I think that people who love people just don’t do that. But, I do feel for her and I wouldn’t mind seeing Jen take Gwyneth down just a few pegs and showing her that her GOOP isn’t all that!

Jesus Jealous of Guy

Ya know what one of the problems is with dating a 20-something guy when you’re 50-something? It’s that you’ve experienced a lot in life and he hasn’t. Another big problem is that he won’t understand why your past experiences are still following you around and will be for the remainder of your life. In Madonna’s case, that past experience goes by the name Guy Ritchie. And the 20-something that doesn’t understand why he’s still there? Is, of course, Jesus Luz. Apparently, Madge is still talking to Guy and Jesus wants it to stop. Oh the manure when we’re so immature! If you can’t understand why two parents of the same children need to keep in contact, then I don’t know what to tell ya.

The story also goes that another reason why Jesus is so upset is because Madonna has also ordered him to stop speaking to anyone he’s ever dated in the past. What did he think was going to happen when he started dating the Queen of Pop? Anyone who’s been on this earth for more than 5 seconds knows that Madonna is a complete control freak and that she becomes total ruler of your life when you get involved with her. I don’t think Guy is ‘back in the family fold’ because I don’t think he was probably ever out of it. He is the father of two of Madonna’s children - Rocco and David Banda - and therefore, will never be completely out of the lives of his children or their mother.

I’m really sick of hearing Jesus whine about how hard it is to be with Madonna. And mind you, I realize this story has no verification and could be completely false but anything I hear about Jesus Luz, is him talking about how difficult life with Madge is when she’s been very good to him. She’s put him up in her swanky NYC apartment and his modeling career has completely taken off ever since he’s hooked up with the Material Girl. I think Jesus should be thankful for what he’s given and enjoy it while it lasts. Because you know it won’t be long before Madonna becomes completely bored with him and tosses him for someone else that she can completely dominate over.

Is Angie Going to Have More Kids?

Well it’s been awhile since we last talked about the possibility of Angelina Jolie having more kids. I think it might have been a whole five seconds. So now, maybe because Madge is busy making preparations for Mercy’s arrival, Angelina has come out to say that she doesn’t want you to forget that she adopted foreign children first and that she’s also thinking about having more kids. Angie would also like to remind us that she’s the Queen of the Earth but that’s really unspoken and assumed. From National Enquirer,

While promo-ing plight of refugees on Anderson Cooper 360, saintly Angelina answered all the hard hitting Qs but then chatty Coop zero-ed in for the kill when Jolie brought up the thought of the Brangie Brood in a war-torn world.

“Everyone in my office asked me to ask — any plans for more kids,” Anderson asked the raven haired enchantress.

“Always,” Angelina replied. “We do love children and we do want a big family.

“Never say no.”

I would really like to know when Angelina and Brad are both planning on quitting their jobs to take care of these children. Lord knows they have enough money, they should be able to retire. I realize that people use to have 8+ children all the time but those people weren’t high-profile actors that kept them away from home very, very often. Angelina said shortly after the twins were born that she wanted to quit acting and stay at home to care for all her children. Then she turned around and filmed Salt. And now she has a deal to film multiple Patricia Cornwell movies, playing the lead role of Dr. Kay Scarpetta. So which is it, Angie? Acting or being a mommy? Or are you just a hypocrite that says whatever she thinks people want to hear? That’s what I thought.

Mercy is Coming to the States!

Madonna’s battle with the Malawian courts over her adoption of Mercy James has finally ended in happiness. The Material Girl was granted permission to adopt the little girl very early this morning and unlike the latest word from Madge’s reps (where they had ‘no knowledge’ of the decision), this was news that was being eagerly anticipated.

I do find Madonna’s response to the news a little weird. No crying or breaking down with emotion. No shouting, “She’s coming home! She’s coming home!” No, the ever-icy Madonna simply says, “Thank heavens.” Mind you, I wasn’t there and I am incredibly biased but it sounds to me like, “Thank heavens I got my way one more time.” Whatever her response though, it certainly is good news for her. “Great news for Madonna this morning, as the pop icon has a new daughter!

Through all the heartache comes a happy ending for Madge, who has legally won the right to adopt Mercy James, 3, from Malawi.

“It’s the early hours in New York now but my client has been awake all night waiting for this,” Madonna’s Malawi lawyer, Alan Chinula, told People.com.

Alan said he called Madonna immediately after the decision was handed down.

“She was ecstatic when I broke the news to her. She said, ‘Thank heavens.’ ”

The lawyer is “now awaiting instructions from New York to start preparing travel arrangements for Mercy. I have to be there for her passports and everything.”

It’s looking like it will be 3-5 days before all the legalities are taken care of and Mercy can join her new family. She will be transported to the U.S. via private jet.”

The good news is that now Mercy is pretty much guaranteed an awesome life. And however I feel about Madonna herself, that really is something very special. Congratulations to Mercy, the rest of the family and, ugh, Madonna.

Is Madonna Adopting Mercy or Not?

Well, well, well. This comes as an unpleasant surprise to me. It seems that Madonna has earned her way into the hearts of the Malawian government after all. Reports are now coming out that Malawi couldn’t just stick to their guns and give Madonna the big N-O once and for all. After her application to adopt Mercy James was denied, Madonna of course appealed the decision. And while we’re all sitting and waiting with baited breath to hear that she is officially not going to be able to adopt, it seems that they are considering overturning the original ruling. Why, you ask? Apparently, Madonna threw some money at the problem and it went away. 

However, Madonna’s reps are denying that there has been any ruling yet. True, there hasn’t been but according to the Daily Mail, that’s not to happen until next Sunday anyway. From the Daily Mail,

“Madonna will be allowed to adopt Malawian toddler Mercy James, three, after all.
Three Malawian appeal court judges will reverse the original verdict, blocking the singer’s bid in March, her lawyer said.

Alan Chinula passed on the news after persuading two of the three appeal judges to alter their decisions.
Madonna’s adoption application was originally rejected because she had not lived in the east African state for 18 months, as required - a ruling which her lawyer argued was out of date.
Madonna, 50, is now said to have the backing of two of the judges with the third set to agree.

The official ruling will be announced next Sunday at Malawi’s Supreme Court of Appeal.”

According to some other stories that I’ve read regarding the subject, the government is considering allowing the adoption because Madge has poured so much money into a daycare center over there. I’m sorry, what? Does that actually have anything to do with her adoption or Mercy James directly? Well, not unless Mercy James is going to stay in her own country, I guess. However, Madonna’s reps have a different story and apparently, the pop queen has no idea that she’s about to become a new mommy. From Pop Crunch,

“Publicist for pop star Madonna has released a statement responding to that early morning reports claiming African courts have decided to allow the singer to adopt Mercy James, a four-year-old orphan from Malawi.

“Madonna has not been informed that a ruling has been made,” says her rep.”

Yes, a very vague statement indeed. Could Madonna really be trying to stay out of the spotlight on this one? It would probably be a good idea since Malawi has given her a hard time already. Or is all of this going back and forth just Madonna’s way of showing us that she’s still the queen of the media reports as well? I’m not too sure. I guess we’ll have to wait until next Sunday to see. I hope she doesn’t get the adoption though. I really, really hope not.
