It’s Britney, Bitches

Britney, Britney, Britney. If you’re sick of hearing it now, there’s much more to come. December is going to be a big month for Ms. Spears. Not only does she appear on the cover of Rolling Stone for the month but her newest album, Circus, is due out December 2, which is also her 27th birthday. As always in the midst of promotion, things are said and done that we are all then left to tear apart and something is always to become a great scandal. Well if that’s the way things have been in the past, especially for dear Britney, they’re about to get really crazy and already have some of the closest people in her life have been speaking out about what she’s said and done - because you just know they have to get their two cents in!

The first thing that popped up, seemingly from out of nowhere, was an interview that Britney’s mom gave via satellite with a UK-based television station. It seems that Lynne Spears always makes her presence known, whether we want it or not. This is what People had on the interview,

“And while the singer still hasn’t regained custody of her two sons, Lynne had nothing but praise for her daughter’s parenting skills.

“Oh she’s a wonderful mother – she’s funny, she’s extremely affectionate,” said the Spears matriarch, who was promoting her memoir, Through the Storm. “[At] home, where there’s nobody around, she’s very normal.”

“I think Britney’s just ready to get started again,” said her mom. “I think this is when she’s most in her element.”

Translation: I’m so glad that my daughter’s getting better so that I can start pressuring her to make money again. I also love how she says that at home ‘with nobody around’, Britney’s very normal. That’s just what I’ve always wanted my mother to say about me.

Then the next person in Britney’s life who’s always wanted to make a buck off her name comes forward, all hurt and upset about what big, bad Brit has done now. Yes, it’s Kevin Federline and he is none too happy about his ex-wife’s words in her upcoming documentary, For the Record, where she claims that she got married for all the wrong reasons and did it for ‘the idea of everything.’ This is what Pop Crunch had to say on the interview with Britney’s ex-husband,

“Friends say Federline is taken aback that Britney “felt the need to tell people that she viewed their marriage as a mistake,” confidante of Kevin’s has revealed to In Touch Weekly.

Kevin is also miffed his former flame implied that the couples two sons were mistakes as well.

“How will that make the boys feel when they’re older. Kevin thinks it’s pathetic and hurtful for no reason.”

Translation:Federline’s a big baby and in his eyes, Britney is damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t. It seems in the tidbits we’ve seen so far from the documentary, that Brit is finally being honest about why she’s done the things she’s done and, I also don’t think there’s any need to imply that she said the boys were a mistake. There are many divorced parents that regret the marriage but don’t regret the kids. Get over yourself!

And then there’s Britney’s latest move, which is very concerning to me. Last night she appeared on-stage at the 2008 Bambi Awards, where she performed her newest single Womanizer (and kicked butt, too, if you can catch the video!) What worries me is that she performed wearing an outfit nearly identical to an outfit that Madonna has recently worn on her Sticky & Sweet tour. Not only does this worry me because I find Madge loathesome but also because if Brit is still worshipping her, she’s getting dangerously close to the ‘kissing a woman on-stage, about to lose my mind’ Britney that we all know all too well.

Britney Shows her Kids her Roots

After a busy week showing up at Dodger Stadium to perform with Madonna, which was also the first public performance she has given since her embarrasment at last year’s MTV Awards, Britney Spears took a little chill time with both of her boys as she packed them up and took them to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, where her mother and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, live with along with Jamie Lynn’s little one, Maddie Briann. The reunion seemed to be a very happy one as the whole family, including brother Brian, is taking some time to reconnect. From Just Jared,

“Britney Spears takes her two sons — Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2 — home to Kentwood, Louisiana on Friday morning. The trio was accompanied by Britney’s older brother Brian and father Jamie.

They were all greeted at the airport by Britney’s mother Lynne. Britney, 26, and the kids are expected to stay in town for a week for a little family bonding.”

Once again, it’s nice to see Britney taking some time to show her boys what’s really important in life and this does just prove that she is off the road of recovery and has made it back to the land of the living. I’m glad that she’s better now but I wish she’d at least start seeing someone so we’d have something more interesting to talk about rather than just her family visits and great performances. But I suppose with the past couple of years that she’s had, it wouldn’t be a bad thing for her to stay boring Britney for a little while longer.

Is Jamie Lynn Preggers…Again?!?

I saw reports that Jamie Lynn was pregnant for a second time just a short three months after giving birth to her daughter, Maddie Briann, and initially, I laughed it off as the National Enquirer trying to sell copies of their rag once again. However, there are now several people picking up the story, which always makes me give it more credit, and her reps are denying it. Now I find that usually when the reps start talking, there’s something to hide or something to share. When the news is no news, reps usually can’t be bothered squashing every rumor. From the Enquirer,

“In a blockbuster world exclusive, The ENQUIRER has learned that the 17-year-old Zoey 101 starlet is now expecting for the second time - a mere three months after giving birth on June 19 to baby Maddie Briann. Jamie’s desperate to keep the shock­ing news secret and some people close to her are urging Jamie Lynn to consider ending the pregnancy, sources say. “Jamie Lynn is about eight weeks pregnant, and she and her mom Lynne are hysterical,” revealed a close source. “Neither of them knows what to do, but for now they’re trying to keep the news from getting out.” Too late. The unplanned pregnancy came as a shock to Jamie Lynn, who’d been breast-feeding her infant daughter Maddie Briann, insiders say. “Jamie Lynn believed she couldn’t get pregnant while she was breast-feeding,” said the close source. “She’d expected to have her period by early September.” A home pregnancy test came back positive and Jamie Lynn cried her eyes out, said the source.”

Also, the fact that she may have gotten pregnant because she thought she couldn’t when she’s breastfeeding doesn’t surprise me either. NOT because I think she’s an idiot, as so many other people do, but because lots of women think that when you’re breastfeeding you can’t get pregnant. I think it really is sad if it’s true and I think it’s sadder that her friends and family want her to terminate. She definitely is very young to be a mother of two but it does seem like she has a good support system around her, no matter how crazy they may all be. Good luck, Jamie Lynn.

More Mom/Daughter Exploitation

I have never been able to catch onto the whole Gossip Girl thing and get wrapped up in that whole socialite, elite teenage kid thing. But it seems that the star of the show, Leighton Meester, may have a lot in common with Britney Spears. Leighton’s mother, Connie Meester, has managed to also see how exploiting her daughter could benefit her greatly and provide for her early retirement. It seems that all one has to do these days to make a buck is to have a baby, have said baby get famous, and then write down all the rotten little details of your life. Slap the term ‘memoir’ on it and presto! You’re rich! This is what Digital Spy had to say about it,

“The mother of Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is to release a book about her daughter.

As well as writing about the actress in her memoir, Connie Meester will also spill the beans on her own troubled past. She was sentenced to one year in a Texas prison in 1985 after being charged with a drug-related crime. In April of the next year, she was permitted to take a break from jail in order to give birth and nurse Leighton, who plays Blair Waldorf on the teen drama series.

Connie has since managed to turn her life around, finding work as a real estate agent after being released from jail in November 1986.

Her manager Loch Powell confirmed that the project is going ahead, though a publisher has not yet been found. He also insisted that Leighton will have no objection to her mother’s plans.

“Leighton and her mom are very close,” he told E! News. “Connie has had a spectacular life.”

I’m thinking that this book is not going to sell too well, if it ever finds a publisher that is. But in the case of Lynne Spears, who has recently written a book about her two famous daughters, this is a woman who is the mother of one of the biggest stars on the planet. Not only that but the skeletons in their very public closet are some of the worst with one daughter who suffers huge breakdowns before being diagnosed with bipolar and one daughter who got pregnant at the age of 16.

Now not only is Gossip Girl a relatively new show but the stars on it are still fairly unknown. They certainly aren’t mega-stars and they’re certainly not splashed all over the tabloids every week with huge drama happening every minute of their lives. I just don’t understand what kind of credit Leighton’s mom thinks her name has. When people barely know your daughter’s name, the chances that they’ll know you’re name are slim to none and that just doesn’t sell books. Too bad, so sad. Guess she’ll have to hope that her daughter’s still famous in a few years and maybe get into some trouble before then.

Britney’s Mom makes a Bad Situation Worse

I know that when they are photographed together, Britney Spears and her mom, Lynne Spears, seem like the perfect, ever-so-close mother and daughter. But I don’t understand how Britney can be completely fine with all of the crap her mom pulls - the most recent, Lynne’s book, Through the Storm, which is a tell-all about what it’s like raising two daughters in the spotlight as well as other personal tidbits of information regarding the Spears family. The first nugget leaked from the book is about Britney’s ex-manager, Sam Lufti who has always been linked to Britney’s unstable mental health condition. Contact Music has pieces of this particular part of the book,

“She writes, “She (Britney) was sad, floundering, ripe for a predator to come along. Britney was open to this man who rode in on a white horse.
“Within a month of meeting, Sam was in complete control of her life.
He appointed himself as her gate-keeper, and there was no one he wanted to keep the gate closed to more than Britney’s family.”
Lynne goes on to tell how Lutfi claimed Britney would commit suicide if they tried to sack him, threatening, “If you try to get rid of me, she’ll be dead and I’ll p**s on her grave.”

So we all know about Lufti and Britney’s unhealthy relationship with him. My question is, as a concerned and loving parent, why would you want to make your daughter relive it all? This all started happening in January, which wasn’t even that long ago when you consider how much crap Britney has been through since then. Just when her daughter starts to recover and make positive steps towards her future, Lynne comes out with this garbage. I’m going to try not to write about it anymore because I just don’t want to draw any more attention to this book but it just outrages me as I have no idea how a mother can exploit her kids this way.

One Teen Mom to Another

I never really thought about what celebrities must think when they read about other celebrities in the news, but the recent news of Bristol Palin becoming pregnant must have struck a very obvious chord with Jamie Lynn Spears. It seems that Lynne Spears has made a call to Petit Tresor and ordered that baby girl burp cloths be sent to Bristol and that they be sent in Jamie Lynn’s name. One does have to wonder if the story is true because the news of the pregnancy is so recent that it’s doubtful that Jamie Lynn would know the sex. From Celebitchy,

“Britney Spears’ little sis is reaching out to Bristol Palin, the 17-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, John McCain’s vice presidential pick.

A source close to the Beverly Hills baby store Petit Tresor tells CelebTV.com exclusively that a gift from Plain Mary was sent to Bristol Palin on behalf of Jamie Lynn Spears.

An insider says it was actually Lynne Spears, Jamie Lynn’s mom, who called about the gift, and requested the gift come from her daughter.

“It was ordered by phone, and they asked what could be done for under $100. They spent $60 on pink burpcloths,” said the source.”

We’re dealing with an unknown person here so who knows if this story is actually true and I also have my own doubts about why Jamie Lynn or her mother for that matter, would call with a specific limit instead of just picking something out themselves if they wanted to stay on budget. Celebitchy, where I first heard of the source also stated that this same store has been known for spreading falsies about Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes.

However, a part of me desperately wants to believe this story is true. I just love the whole human element of it and that Jamie Lynn would actually be feeling what Bristol Palin is going through. I think sometimes we look at celebrities so much and analyze their lives that we forget they’re actually people that we’re talking about. It’s nice to see one of them reach out to another.

A Peek at Mummy Jamie Lynn

So we haven’t actually heard all that much about new mom Jamie Lynn Spears since she had little baby girl Maddie Briann and her sister, Britney reportedly had a breakdown in the hospital. I never believed those Britney rumors either but it’s nice to see Jamie Lynn and her mom, Lynne Spears out and about shopping with the little bundle in tow. The older mother and daughter seemed to be getting along just fine with the little darling all covered and protected from the view of the paparazzi.

However, those that have been thirsting for Jamie Lynn news before this had already been busy spreading rumors about how the actress is battling food and health issues. Apparently, it’s not enough that she has a new baby and is probably as exhausted as hell but now people have to start picking about what she’s eating. From the Gossip Girls,

“According to tabloid rumors, Jamie Lynn has been heading down the road to bad health with her constant fast food binges. And according to one source, if she doesn’t get healthy soon, she could be in big trouble.

“Jamie Lynn says she has been so busy with the baby she has not been looking after herself and instead of eating healthily has been gorging on burgers and fries - too often than is good for her. Everyone thinks she has been comfort eating because of the stress of being a new mum and on top of that she is having to deal with all the rumors that Casey Aldridge has been cheating on her. She needs to start looking after herself better. Not just for herself but she has baby Maddie to think of now too.”

I don’t believe any of the rumors when it comes to Jamie Lynn. What new parent doesn’t grab for what’s fast and easy instead of making homemade, low-fat meals? Please. And from the looks of it, she’s doing awesome with her weight! If she had been carefully watching what she ate and limiting herself, people would rag on her for having an eating disorder and rumors would fly around about how she’s suffering from low self-esteem. It just gets out of control. My take on it is that Jamie Lynn, Casey Aldridge, and their new baby live a somewhat boring life when it comes to the three of them and the papers need to make stuff up. I don’t think her health is in danger and I don’t think Casey is cheating on her. I think she’s a new parent, who is very young, and who is trying to keep a low profile while she’s making this huge adjustment. I think anyone should be able to understand that.

Jamie Spears Speaks Out

As often as Britney Spears is in the news and being quoted on various aspects of her life, her father, who is actually a major part of her life as her conservator, has never spoken about his new role in his daughter’s life. I must say, I was very down on Mr. Spears when this whole thing started because he was asking to be paid for the time spent taking care of his daughter and spending time with his grandchildren (yes, reports were that he actually wanted to be paid for that) but it may seem as though his heart really is in the right place. Celebrity Baby Scoop had pieces of an interview with him where he described the situation in a little more detail,

“We’ve grown a lot,” Jamie said. “I’ve been able to come back into my daughter’s life, and that was an adjustment anyway, because I’m an alcoholic and it’s the first time we’ve really been able to share. I don’t stay here anymore,” he said. “Every now and then, I’ll stay if we have something early in the morning we have to do.”It made no sense for that (custody) trial to proceed so we worked out an agreement,” he said. “The agreement says that on Oct. 1 we’ll probably get another overnight, and that will stay in place until the end of the year or the end of the conservatorship. I do understand that my baby made this monster. But when she was down, people took advantage.”

I’m glad that he has cleared the air on a few of the issues and it makes me see that he probably deep down really is just a father trying to connect and protect his daughter. But I really don’t understand his statement about how his “baby made this monster.” Is he saying that Britney did this to herself? Is Lynne Spears the baby he’s referring to? I’m honestly not trying to poke fun, I’m just very confused as to what he meant by that. Once again though, I say that I’m glad that Britney’s doing so much better and the fact that Jamie doesn’t even feel the need to stay there overnight anymore proves even further that great strides have been taken on the road to Britney‘s recovery.

Britney Spears is the Girl-Next-Door Again

There’s no doubt that Britney Spears is becoming the girl-next-door that we all originally fell in love with when the pop star exploded onto the music scene. She has turned over a new leaf for sure, going in a few short months from crazy psychopath to loving homebody. Spears has been making big moves, trying to show the public, her family, the courts, and herself that she can live life as a normal human being and even more than that, she can be a loving and devoted mother. Now that Britney has regained visitation rights with her two boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James. She even had her mother over at one of their recent sleepovers and has been spending some girl-bonding time with her mom, Lynne Spears. And it sounds like they made quite a pretty picture. “In town since Wednesday, Lynne and Britney have been enjoying some one-on-one time together shopping at the True Religion warehouse and Pottery Barn on Friday before enjoying a “girls dinner” of salad, sushi rolls, and fish at Bond St. restaurant. One source said Britney looked great,
“Britney walked in with a big smile and introduced her mom to the staff. She looked gorgeous, and I have never seen her in a better mood. She was laughing the whole time she was here. Britney seemed to have the best time hanging out with her mom and friends.”

And she seems to be stepping into the new role as Auntie quite well too. WIth the arrival of Maddie Briann, her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ new baby girl, the whole family loves calling her “Aunt Bee” in reference to the fact that Britney used to love watching old reruns of The Andy Griffith Show in which the character, Aunt Bee, was her favorite.

It’s a Girl for Jamie Lynn!!

After months and months of blogging and tabloid reporting all the way along Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy, it’s finally all over as she delivered a baby girl this morning. From Ninja Dude,

“PEOPLE confirms exclusively that the baby was named Maddie Briann. “Just the family was there,” says a source about the birth around 9:30 a.m. at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown. “Everyone is healthy and happy.” Jamie Lynn’s sister Britney, father Jamie and brother Bryan flew in Wednesday to be with her for the birth; her mother Lynne had been with her helping her get ready for the baby.”

I just think - finally!!!! Not only did she finally have her baby but there’s also a celebrity who finally named their child something normal! No fruit or field workers names here, just simply Maddie Briann. Totally southern, totally sweet and I’m very happy for her! Looks like her sister, Britney got there just in time as she has recently gone to the family’s home to be with her sister. It’s a happy time for them and hopefully, people won’t want to turn it into something sour.
