Stars Can No Longer Seek the Security of Twitter

This post has nothing to do with heartbreak or hookups, but then again, it could have everything to do with the two. It’s now being reported that stars working for some major companies are being banned from using Twitter as an outlet. The worry? That these celebs that are Twitter-tastic will spill the beans on some major plots for their work, or leak certain details of upcoming projects. Mind you, the source is from the National Enquirer but I had actually read about it a few times before I landed on it again and decided that I was somewhat boiled up about it. This is the official word from National Enquirer,

“Livid studio execs have banned stars from using Twitter to prevent security leaks or spoilers from on-set.

Citing a rash of spoilers being leaked online, execs have expressly forbidden stars including Cameron Diaz and Mike Meyers from blabbing on the microbloggin’ phenon Twitter.

Less they break the dictum by tweeting, Dreamworks, the first studio to go public with the ban, now has a contract clause, forbidding stars from posting – period.

Diaz and Meyers who have been signed for yet another Shrek flick are the first to be affected by the anti-Tweet clause.

Previously, The ENQUIRER was the first to report that with the departure of Miley Cyrus from Twitter, the end is nigh for the narcissistic OCD social disorder.”

No, I’m not disagreeing that some celebs use Twitter to a ridiculous point. And I’ve been known to get pretty bent out of shape about John Mayer’s Twitter Factor. That being said…really?

Are celebrities really going to be censored like this? In a day when anyone and everyone is free to take attack on them at any time, they can’t have the one voice they do have in all of it? I don’t always like what stars write on Twitter, and how much some people use it does really grind at my nerves. But if it’s a legal thing and plot spoiler deal, they can easily have certain clauses written into their contract. But to ban them period. Done.

I just think it’s leaving them with no outlet of their own. And I think that even though it may get out of hand in some cases, I really think Twitter has been a fabulous thing for stars. It’s an easy way to reach a lot of people and debunk rumors or just let them know small details about themselves, or thank them for their support.

Aren’t we always saying that these stars are just people too? So, let them be people. Let Mayer write that he’s lonesome without Jen or going to buy her a diamond ring. Let Jessica Simpson talk about how sad she is about her dog. Who cares? They’re just people! And I think banning them from Twitter is an outrage!

Tony Romo is Movin On

When Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson split up earlier this summer, most of the blame was placed on Jessica’s shoulders. Either she was drinking and partying too much, or she had a bad case of jealousy. Either way, it was Jessica’s fault, and I didn’t like it. Mostly because I think Tony Romo is a giant crap-pile. But now it seems that if they did break up, it may be because Romo was done with the serious relationship thing and wanted to move on to someone new. But has he really?

Yes, Tony Romo has a new girlfriend. She’s a beauty queen (literally), and the sister of Chace Crawford. Yep, she’s Candice Crawford, Miss Missouri. And why do I doubt that this new girl is actually new? Only because she looks like a carbon copy of Tony’s last serious girlfriends – Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood. I guess blonde locks and a killer smile is all you really need to date Tony. From Bump Shack,

I wonder if it will last beyond the NFL season? Tony has always been one that’s shown no fear about commitment. But after Carrie and Jessica, maybe he’s ready to just have a little fun without being Mr. Boyfriend. I just wish he had hooked up with someone who looked just a tiny bit different. It’s starting to get really boring seeing who Romo’s newest girl is when they all look exactly the same.

In the Most Immature News of the Day

There’s nothing that says, “I’m taking the high road” after a breakup than posting signs telling people how much you dislike your ex. That’s exactly what Tony Romo has done with Jessica Simpson, after she’s kept relatively quiet post-split. Nope, she’s not welcome there, nuh uh. Tony Romo has actually posted a sign on the gates of his mansion, saying that Simpson is no longer privileged enough to grace its entrance. Oh boo hoo. I hate this. A lot.

I hate that Tony Romo apparently seems to think that he’s God and that people are to be deemed worthy or not to step onto his precious territory. I hate the fact that he feels this is necessary, or appropriate, behavior. They broke up and Jessica hasn’t even made a statement yet. She’s not staying awake at night thinking up ways to humiliate him. Ugh! And my dislike for Tony Romo grows. From US Weekly,

“After Tony Romo callously dumped Jessica Simpson the night before her 29th birthday, he made sure his ex wouldn’t be able to get near his Dallas home.

The new issue of Us Weekly, on stands now, reports the Dallas Cowboys quarterback instructed security to keep Simpson out of his gated community.

And red alert? Okay, I realize that Jessica Simpson is a touch annoying but she’s not exactly a bomb threat. I think I’m going to go post a sign on my door. It’s going to be an Emergency Alert stating that Tony Romo is no longer on my list of people allowed in my house. He’ll never see it, or know about it, but it’ll make me feel better.

Tony Romo Should Keep his Mouth Shut

When it comes to the whole Jessica Simpson/Tony Romo split, I was sort of rooting for Tony Romo. I don’t watch football and don’t really pay too much attention to athletes other than NHL players so I really never knew too much about him except that he was some sort of big-time star. And that he was Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend. Of course, he’s no longer the latter but he’s been making some pretty stupid statements about it and he seems to be trying to get us to feel sorry for him. Apparently, Tony is “emotionally drained” and it showed in his performance at a golf tournament this week - where he took home second place.

This whole thing has me shaking me head at Tony Romo. You really, really shouldn’t try to paint yourself as the “exhausted” and “drained” party when you dumped a girl and she’s most likely been at home crying ever since. Tony, on the other hand, has been out partying at hot L.A. clubs such as MyHouse and has been in golf tournaments, for cryin out loud! He even talks about how “it showed in his performance.” Please. This is not his life, it’s not his career. Even I know that Tony plays football, not golf, for a living. It just seems to me that he’s trying to score pity points when he doesn’t really deserve any. Tony scored second place on the week end at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Tahoe. Friends are saying he is emotionally drained after the public split with Jessica Simpson.

Tony told People magazine “The more stuff you’ve got in your mind, probably the less successful you’re going to be. “So the only thing I think about is the task at hand. When you let your mind wander or think about other things, you’re setting yourself up for failure. So I just try to stay focused. I’ve done a pretty good job of that this week.”

Sorry, Tony. I actually felt worse for you when you were with Jessica Simpson. Having to explain every single thing must have been truly exhausting. But I’m not going to feel bad that he stayed out too late partying and drinking and therefore, was so exhausted and drained that he could only bring home second place from the golf tournament.

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson: Splitsville!

Wow, I didn’t see this one coming! I really thought that Jessica Simpson would have Tony Romo entrenched in herself as much as she is for a very, very long time. And I also sort of expected that she would con him into doing a show after they got married. Something along the lines of The New Newlyweds, perhaps? But none of that is going to happen now as Romo has kicked Simpson to the curb. Not only did he dump her but he did it the day before her birthday. Normally I would say that that’s cruel and unusual. But seeing as how Jessica was planning a Barbie and Ken-themed birthday party, I’d say that Tony escaped some cruel and unusual punishment himself. And just in the nick of time, too! From US,

“Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have called it quits, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

A source close to Simpson confirms they broke up the night before her 29th birthday July 10. She was supposed to celebrate with a Ken and Barbie-themed party. (On Simpson’s birthday, Romo spent the night at Los Angeles hot spot My House.)

“She canceled her party because of this,” the source tells Us. “She’s doing OK.”

“Barbie party didn’t happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!” she wrote on her Twitter page Saturday.

Later, she wrote: “Everyone needs to know that hope floats…grab the strings and pull it back to you… Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please, Lord, give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace.”

A close friend of Romo’s tells Us of the split: “It’s been a long time coming.”

Still, another source tells Us the volatile couple could always get back together. “They go from one fight right into another, without a second break,” the source tells Us. “It’s always something with Jessica.”

Simpson’s rep had no comment.”

I wonder if the Dallas Cowboys are happier now that Simpson will no longer be a ‘distraction’ for Tony (if those rumors are believed to be true.) Either way, I’m sure that Tony’s much happier. I can’t imagine the patience that it takes to be dating Jessica Simpson. Not only is she the epitome of dumb blonde but she’s also the epitome of spoiled brat.

I wonder if Tony Romo will set his sights back on Carrie Underwood. There were also rumors while he was dating Jessica that he couldn’t stop himself from calling Carrie. Hopefully he’ll just focus on his football career now as Carrie seems pretty happy with her new beau, Mike Fisher too. Or will Jessica go back to Nick Lachey, who also recently split with his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo. I really don’t think that will happen either as I think Nick sort of hates Jessica now. I have nothing to base that on, except that I saw him getting endlessly frustrated with her on that horrible reality TV show they did together. But, these are all questions that we get to ponder as we wait to see who Jessica winds up with next. Who knows? If these ‘friends’ of Jessica’s are to be believed, these two could very well end up back together. But, I’m pretty sure that Tony has finally gotten fed up and isn’t about to go down that road again!

Are Jessica and Tony in Trouble?

From her supposed ‘weight issues’ to the reality of her failing music career, Jessica Simpson has not had an easy go of things lately. And it seems to deal with things, she has gone the route of many other major stars - she has taken to partying until all hours and hitting the bottle - hard. But on top of all this, Jess also wants a husband and children which I find very strange. The girls that I’ve known that are most interested in partying and drinking are generally not looking to settle down. But apparently that’s the scoop. And Tony’s not prepared to do anything until Jessica is willing to put the bottle down. From Gossip Girls,

“It’s no secret that her career has taken a few hits as of late, and Jessica Simpson has reportedly turned to partying to cope.

However, the “Come on Over” songstress’ boyfriend Tony Romo is less than impressed with his gal’s behavior as of late, and he’s calling for it to stop.

An inside source told press, “Tony is fed up. She’s been pressuring him to marry her and have children, but he’s giving her a firm ‘no’ until she cleans up her act.”

The source continued, “Tony won’t even consider moving forward with Jess until she cuts back on partying.”

If any of this is true, I can’t say I really blame Tony. I wouldn’t want a drunk raising my kids either. Hopefully this is just a case of Jessica needing a way to deal with things for a little while and even more hopefully it’s a phase that she’s going to come out of real soon. Her boyfriend dumping her at this point may really send her over the edge.

Is Simpson Happy? Or in Denial?

Jessica Simpson has had a tough go of it lately, first with this huge supposed ’scandal’ over her weight (which was probably 3 pounds in actuality) and then her breakdown on-stage just a week ago when she was opening for Rascall Flatts. There was brief speculation that her downward spiral may have been due to problems with her long-time boyfriend, Tony Romo. Maybe this was because he didn’t come to the now infamous Rascall Flatts show or maybe just because Jess is a celebrity and so whenever something goes wrong, it must be blamed on her relationship. Apparently however, Jess is fine, Tony’s fine, and everyone is just happy as a pile o’ clams. While I would be very happy to hear this, something about it just doesn’t ring true to me. From People,

“Jessica Simpson is not letting recent criticism get her down. The singer, who helped announce nominations for the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Wednesday, says she’s fine just as she is, thank you very much.

“Honestly, I am right where I’m supposed to be. I am so happy,” she said on The Early Show Wednesday. “Right now I’m on tour with Rascal Flatts having a blast.”

Part of having a blast includes spending time with friends – and boyfriend Tony Romo. The pair had a casual fun-filled night out over the weekend at The Great Dane Pub in Madison, Wis., where they partied after she opened for Rascal Flatts at The Kohl Center Saturday night.

“They came in side-by-side at about 10 p.m. with a big group,” according to Ted Peterson, the pub’s director of operations.

Peterson says he was struck by how great Simpson looked and how happy she and Romo seemed together.

At the end of the night, Simpson and Romo, both 28, embraced and talked closely. “He came up to her and was holding her,” says Peterson. “They were in a half hug, talking closely. They seem like they’re very much in love. They looked very happy.”

I don’t doubt that Jessica and Tony are very happy. I’m pretty sure those two have a wedding somewhere in their future. But the fact that Jessica could have such a public meltdown and then days later claim that she’s ‘right where she’s supposed to be’ and ’so happy’ just seems like a big fat lie to me, and the person she’s lying to the most is probably herself.

Jessica’s Michigan Meltdown

Jessica Simpson has been under heavy fire lately, first for the few pounds that she gained and debuted at a radio promotion just a couple of weeks ago and now for having a meltdown during a show in Michigan. During the show, she was opening for Rascall Flatts and kept forgetting the lyrics to her own songs as well as making comments to the audience such as ‘It’s hard to be so vulnerable.’ Unfortunately, her beau Tony Romo wasn’t there to offer his support either as he missed his flight. And he’s probably glad that he did! From Gossip Girls,

Then, during her opening set for Rascal Flatts, she stopped in the middle of several songs after seeming to forget the words. At one point she left the stage to get a sip of water.

Jess revealed her embarrassment with her performance, telling the audience that “it’s difficult to be on stage and be so vulnerable.” By the end of the set she was wiping tears away and thanking the band for having her back.”

Jess is a mess lately and while I would generally think that these types of attention-grabbing antics are just her way of once again being a media whore, I do think there’s something real going on here. I wonder if her relationship with Tony is in trouble or if all those rumors about her being jealous over sister Ashlee’s new ‘Mommy’ status really are true. Whatever it is, Jessica Simpson is not happy and seems to be falling to pieces little by little. It’s unfortunate that the world is here to watch.

Ashlee Says, ‘She’s Not Heavy; She’s my Sister’

The pictures of Jessica Simpson’s performance at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff in Florida over the weekend have been on just about every blog post, newspaper headline, or entertainment and celebrity gossip show ever since they first hit the wires and all kinds of theories have been formed about just how Jessica gained all this weight without anyone noticing and what is all the extra weight from - pregnancy or overeating? Well one person certainly wants to put an end to the speculation and not by giving their own theory but by simply telling us all to shut our mouths. That person is Jessica’s sister, Ashlee, who wrote on her blog,

“I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight,” Ashlee writes on her blog after photos appeared of Jessica, 28, at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff on Sunday in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

Under the headline, “Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy,” Ashlee says: “A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure.”

She adds: “All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.”

I agree and disagree with Ashlee. Firstly yes, there are certainly more important things going on in the world than Jessica’s weight and I do think that headlines like this promote bad body image and promote low self-esteem. I don’t however, think that Jess was born any particular ’shape’, ‘form’, or ’size’, as Ashlee seems to be disdainfully referring to here. We have all seen Jessica at her former weight and it was what, by industry standards, would be ‘normal.’ I’m not agreeing with it or condoning it but it’s a fact that she used to be skinny and now she’s not as skinny. 

I do have my own issues with this story that I consider to be more important than Jessica’s weight. The first is that I don’t think that she is actually overweight but I really do think that she needs to be wearing something else. Yikes - that belt hurts my eyes! Secondly and most saddest I think, is the fact the Jessica Simpson’s career is truly down the toilet. Seriously - she’s performing at a chili cook-off for a radio station!

Say It Isn’t So!

It must be difficult to not only be a celebrity but to be a celebrity and also have your sibling be a celebrity must make for one messed up relationship. When Ashlee Simpson first exploded onto the music scene, it seemed as though she was determined to prove that she was nothing like her older sis, Jessica Simpson. She died her hair jet-black and sang songs that were much different than the love ballads her sis was belting out. But now the rumor tables have turned and it’s being said that it’s actually Jess that now wants to be like Ash. In the way that she would also like to get married and have babies. Of course, Jessica and Tony Romo, her serious boyfriend have had their fair share of pregnancy rumors to deal with but the fact that this one is questioning whether Jessica is pregnant but just saying that she wants to be very soon, has me worried that this could in fact, be true. “Jessica recently sat Tony down for a baby talk. Unlike Ashlee, Jessica doesn’t want to get pregnant and then get married. She’s a little more traditional, so she’d like to marry Tony first and then get pregnant, ideally on their honeymoon,” a pal of Jessica’s told Touch Weekly magazine.
“She wants to get engaged in early 2009, married in Texas in the summer and get pregnant soon after,” the pal added.
It has also been reported that Jessica is certain that Tony would propose her over Christmas, reports China Daily.”

It’s never a good idea to get your hopes up about something so huge but it is Jessica Simpson that we’re talking about. This whole pretty picture that she seems to have in her head does seem naive and idiotic but again, it’s Jessica Simpson that we’re talking about. I predict that she will not get engaged over the holidays and that she does not get pregnant any time soon. But that may just be my own wishful thinking. I’m really hoping that Jessica Simpson doesn’t produce spawn. Ever.
