Jennifer Hudson is Expecting Again!

First Jennifer Hudson was known for her big voice on American Idol, then she was known for hitting the big screen in the first Sex and the City movie. But now, Jennifer seems to want to be known for something else – baby making! It came as a shock to the world when Hudson announced last June that she was seven months pregnant. Now that little baby, named David Jr. is four months old and Jennifer has more shocking news for us – She’s pregnant again! I can’t even imagine having a newborn in the house with a baby that’s not even a year old yet. And apparently, neither can Jennifer! The pregnancy was unplanned but, as many of them are, completely welcomed and anticipated! From Star,

“Big baby news! Star was first to report that Jennifer Hudson was pregnant with her first child — a son she named David Jr., now 4 months old. And now we can reveal exclusively that she and fiancé David Otunga are adding to their family.
“Jennifer was in total shock when she found out she was having another baby,” says her close friend, who adds that the couple learned they were expecting on Dec. 10. “She had wanted some space between the kids’ ages.”

Still, the star, 28, has embraced her second pregnancy.

“She and David love kids,” says the pal. “It’s another thing for them to celebrate during the holidays.”

Will Jennifer Hudson ever be able to marry David Otunga? Probably not if they keep making themselves too busy with diaper changes and midnight feedings. Unless of course they have a couple of those handy dandy nannies that so many celebrities seem to keep on-hand at all times. But whether they ever get officially married or not, I think this is one of the sweetest couples that Hollywood’s got going for it! Congratulations to Jennifer, David, and cute little David Jr.!

The pic above is of Jennifer and her son David when he was just three months old (so last month.) Hopefully we get to see more of the family after the new little one is born. We had to wait for Oprah’s Holiday Extravaganza for this one! But to be fair, David still hasn’t been born all that long for pics. So cute, isn’t he?

Michael Jackson’s Memorial Service

Well, I have to be honest, I didn’t watch Michael Jackson’s memorial service today. I was planning on it but my satellite conked out during the afternoon and so, I missed it. I actually took it as a good sign. Now, I could just read about it and not feel bad that I missed watching an event that the world would never forget. I really didn’t want to watch it because I’m not a big fan of Michael Jackson’s and I never was. And I’ve never been a big fan of memorial services either so, the whole thing was sounding pretty bad to me.

I also figured that the whole entire thing was going to be just two hours of very sad entertainment and again, I thought I might want to pass on it. It turns out that my thoughts ended up pretty much being right. Many, many stars came out to pay tribute to the late King of Pop and they all had very sad and kind words to say about Michael, or they sang, or, in Corey Feldman’s case, they dressed up as Michael to pay their respects. I’ve read enough that I am glad that I didn’t watch it but there did seem to be especially touching moments.

Jennifer Hudson came out to sing Will You Be There and I’ve heard mixed reviews of that, between ‘beautiful’ and ’schmaltzy.’ I can see Hudson being schmaltzy. She always does everything so over-the-top and seems to be overacting on stage. What I did miss that I’m kicking myself for is Jennifer’s baby bump, which is the first time she’s shown it since her pregnancy was announced. I did though still manage to find this picture of her and Usher, who also performed at the service, and Jennifer’s bump.

Brooke Shields, who I love, love, looove, was also there to talk about her ex-boyfriend. Brooke and Michael dated during the 80s when Brooke was just growing into being America’s sweetheart and Michael was teaching the world the moonwalk. At the service today, Brooke talked about howMichael’s favorite song was Smile by Charlie Chaplin and how that’s what everyone needed to do now. The two hadn’t seen each other in almost 2 decades but, as Brooke explains in the newest Rolling Stone, the two would always have each other.  From US,

“Brooke Shields says she “instantly became friends” with Michael Jackson after meeting him when she was 13.

“Nothing was jaded about him. I just was so impressed by his sweetness,” Shields tells Rolling Stone’s special commemorative issue on the King of Pop, on stands Friday.

“He was thoughtful, sensitive, sweet, and had a funny sense of humor,” she goes on. “If you got to talk to him about music or about the future of technology, his voice would get deeper, he would start talking, and it was as if he was this genius.”

Sexuality didn’t play a role in their relationship, she explains.

“As he grew older and the more he started to change physically, the more asexual he became to me,” Shields says. “It was easy for him to be a friend to me, because I was the most celebrated virgin ever; it’s ridiculous, but I was America’s virgin.

“There were times when he would ask me to marry him, and I would say, ‘You have me for the rest of your life, you don’t need to marry me, I’m going to go on and do my own life and have my own marriage and my own kids, and you’ll always have me.’ I think it made him relax. He didn’t want to lose things that meant something to him,” she adds.

She last saw Jackson at Elizabeth Taylor’s 1991 wedding.

“He seemed like his own funny self,” she says. “We snuck in and took pictures of ourselves next to her dress. We always seemed to revert to being little kids. It was a sanctuary for him, because he knew I never wanted anything from him but his happiness.”

But the saddest moment of Michael’s memorial service today was when his daughter, Paris Katherine Jackson, stood up at the end to speak. I think, no matter who you are, and no matter what you think of Michael Jackson, reading about it and watching it on all the thousands of links that are now available from the service, everything was forgotten when Katherine spoke. Even though there was a ridiculous spotlight on her father’s casket and the whole entire thing was done up just a little bit ‘too’ much, when Katherine took to the microphone, it was like everything and everyone just shut up. The world wanted to hear what she had to say and all she wanted us to know was that Michael was a good dad. Say what you will, but the heartbreak in that little girl’s words and that little girl’s eyes tells us all that Michael wasn’t all bad, even if you’re not a fan. “The most poignant moment of the Michael Jackson Memorial came at the end, when his 11-year-old daughter, Paris Katherine Jackson, bravely came up to the microphone to pay her tearful tribute to her father.

“Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine and I just want to say I love him so much,” Paris said as a single spotlight shone on Michael Jackson’s gold casket inside the Staples Center.”

Before the public service today there was a private service yesterday for the family and close friends to pay their respects privately. The family then also joined this morning so that they could have some last time with Michael and each other before the day’s craziness began. It is sad but I really am hoping that we can all get past this and move on. It’s what the family needs now and more importantly, I think it’s in the best interest of his kids.

According to reports, Miss Hudson was thrown a baby shower over the weekend by longtime pal Felicia Fields.

“It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family,” Fields told press. “They’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet. It was a nice time that we had.”

When asked whether the former “American Idol” star is expecting a boy or girl, Fields replied: “They don’t know [the gender]. More yellow.”

I can’t even say how happy I am for Jennifer! What a wonderful year for her after such hardship! Congratulations Jennifer and David!

Jennifer Hudson’s Wedding Gown

Ever since deciding it was time to go ahead with her wedding plans, Jennifer Hudson has been busy planning every last detail. First and foremost of course, is the dress. So who will she be wearing and just what does Jennifer Hudson’s dream wedding gown look like? Jennifer Hudson will be wearing a Hudson, meaning that she plans to design it herself. And it’s going to be ‘traditional but classy.’ I’m not too sure what that means. Does that mean that Hudson thinks that traditional dresses have no elegance to them or that they’re trash? I’m most likely being over-critical as I’m really not a huge Jennifer Hudson fan. From Rhymes with Snitch,

“Jennifer Hudson who recently set her wedding date, has decided to design her own wedding gown. She says, “I’m gonna design my own dress. I want to design it… Definitely classic, more traditional than anything. I want it to be nice and traditional, but very classy, very classy.”

I actually really love the idea of a bride designing her own gown. It allows them to show their personality and truly make it the gown of their dreams. But having seen Jennifer’s past fashion choices, I’m questioning as to whether or not I’m going to love, love this gown. I guess we’ll have to wait and see…

We Know Who But not When

Jennifer Hudson is engaged to David Otunga, who if you know him at all, it’s probably from his reality TV show, I Love New York 2. I had never heard of him before today and I certainly didn’t know that Jennifer Hudson was engaged to him - or to anyone for that fact! But the two are definitely engaged and have been since September 2008, after they had been dating for less than a year. The tragic multiple murders of her family members happened just a month after that and so understandably, any wedding plans were put on hold. But now Hudson is ready to move ahead with her life and she has set a date - although she’s not telling what that date is. From People,

“After Idol’s tribute to Motown Wednesday, Hudson — who finished in 7th place in season 3 — pre-taped a performance for a future episode of the show. Host Ryan Seacrest then chatted with Hudson and asked her if she had set a date for her wedding. “Yeah, but it’s a secret,” she replied. “I can’t tell anybody.”

Hudson, who will be touring with Robin Thicke to promote her self-titled, debut album starting March 31, told Seacrest, “It feels great” to be back on the stage where she started her singing career.”

I’m happy to hear that Jennifer is moving on with her life. I’m not a huge Hudson fan when it comes to her music and such (although I did love her in the Sex and the City movie) but I do deeply sympathize with her for what she went through last year. It’s nice to know that she seems to be coming out of the dark a little bit and focusing on the happier, more positive things in life.

Hudson Murder Suspect Arrested!

It’s about time that William Balfour, the man responsible for the death of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and nephew, was put behind bars permanently! He has finally been charged with the killings of all three members of Hudson’s family and reportedly, has also released a confession stating that the reason why he did it was because he was jealous that Hudson’s sister, Balfour’s ex-wife, was seeing someone new. Did this clear things up for anyone? Does this make it okay to go on a killing spree? From Contact Music,

“JENNIFER HUDSON’s former brother-in-law killed three members of the Oscar winner’s family because he was jealous about his ex-wife’s new romance, according to prosecutors trying to jail the accused.
William Balfour has been charged with the October (08) slaying of Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew - and lawyers representing the family feel sure they have a motive.
In a hearing on Wednesday (03Dec08), during which Balfour was denied bail, a Cook County prosecutor told a Chicago, Illinois court the accused confronted Hudson’s sister Julia over her new romance before going on his killing spree.
Hudson’s mother and brother were found dead at their home and the body of the singer/actress’ seven-year-old nephew was found in an abandoned SUV three days later.
Balfour has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, and had reportedly confessed to the crimes, according to Chicago Police.”

Of course it’s senseless to anyone who’s not crazy because there’s obviously something going on inside of Balfour’s head that nobody semi-sane would be able to understand. Hopefully something good and productive will come out of this confession and it may be able to bring some closure and some peace to Jennifer Hudson and the rest of her family.

Suspect in Hudson Case About to Walk

Not only does it seem incredibly wrong that William Balfour, the man who is suspected of killing Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and nephew, may just be set back free on the streets again as soon as tomorrow but it also seems as though this release comes on the heels of a reported confession. Apparently, Balfour told his girlfriend exactly what he was going to do and it was she who told police what he had said his plans were. From TMZ,

“William Balfour — the only suspect in the Hudson triple murder case — allegedly told his current girlfriend he was involved in the murders of Hudson’s mother and brother, according to sources at the Chicago Tribune.

Balfour’s girlfriend in turn told police what he told her. The Tribune also cites sources saying Balfour “acknowledged being at Hudson’s Englewood home” on the morning Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were shot to death inside, and Jen’s nephew was abducted and later killed.

These are incredible statements considering William — who has not been charged with a crime — could be released tomorrow morning pending a decision by the Illinois Prisoner Review Board on whether he violated the terms of his parole.”

I suppose we can only pray that the courts do the right thing and find that he has in fact violated his parole -even though he hasn’t officially been found guilty of committing these heinous crimes. It would be nice to see him go away for a very long time not only to make him pay for what he has done but to also possibly provide what little peace can be taken for Jennifer Hudson and her family. The last heard on Jennifer was that she is still in hiding due to the fact that it’s believed that Balfour killed her family members in order to get to her. Apparently, she is staying in a hotel in an undisclosed location. There’s no hope for this story to have a fair ending but the best hope one can have is for the story to have an ending soon, so the family may find peace and begin to move forward.

The Body of Julian King is Found

This is truly heartbreaking as our thoughts go out to the Hudson family. The tragic story of course began when Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were found murdered in their Chicago home and Jennifer’s nephew, Julian King, had gone missing. The story has come to a tragic end as Julian’s body was found today. From US,

“The body of a slain young boy has been identified as that of Jennifer Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew, Chicago police confirmed at a press conference Monday.

Police have no suspects.

Julian King was missing all weekend after an unidentified assailant fatally shot Hudson’s mother Darnell, 57, and brother Jason, 29, on Friday.

At 7:05 a.m. Monday, Chicago police discovered the slain boy — who was shot multiple times, according to the Tribune — in the back seat of an abandoned white 1994 Chevy Suburban on Chicago’s West Side.

Chicago police call the killings “domestic related.”

Though he has not been charged, William Balfour — the estranged husband of Julia Hudson, Jennifer’s sister — was taken into custody Friday by Chicago police for questioning.

The 27-year-old Balfour — who spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle — is not the boy’s father.”

I can’t even imagine the amount of grief that is being felt by everyone and I can only pray that this is an instance in which the media is respectful and we quickly express support and leave the family to mourn. Having to survive the loss of so many loved ones in a lifetime is more than one should have to take but all within a weekend and all such brutal deaths is unthinkable. And of course, our thoughts are most with poor Julian. Such a short life and such senseless actions to take it away. I don’t know how one begins to work through this sort of grief but our thoughts are certainly with the Hudson family at this time.

Jennifer Hudson’s Family Dead or Missing

Jennifer Hudson as a person normally bothers me but she is experiencing heartbreak of the very worst kind right now and you have to be some kind of awful to not feel for her right now. Her mother and brother were found dead in their Chicago home, both murdered with multiple gun shot wounds. As if this story isn’t bad enough, Hudson’s nephew, Julian King, is now missing. Julian appears to be the son of Jennifer’s sister who was once married to the person who is now in custody for being a suspect in the shootings. It’s a terrible story and here is what Contact Music has to say about it,

“Police have arrested a suspect in the double shooting of singer/actress JENNIFER HUDSON’s mother and brother - but the star’s seven-year-old nephew who was taken from the scene of the crime is still missing.
Authorities took William Balfour, who was once married to the actress’ sister Julia, into police custody on Friday (24Oct08) after the victims were found gunned down in their Chicago, Illinois home earlier in the day.
Neighbours allegedly heard gunshots between 8am and 9am local time on the south side of the city, but emergency services weren’t contacted until 3pm, when another relative, believed to be Hudson’s cousin, discovered the star’s 57-year-old mum Darnell Donnerson shot in the head in the living room.
Officers subsequently found the body of Jason Hudson, 29, who had died from bullet wounds to the chest, in an upstairs bedroom.
Police launched a child abduction alert after quizzing Balfour, 27, over the whereabouts of Julia’s missing son Julian King, according to FOX News’ Chicago affiliate.
Balfour has not been charged with any offence as WENN goes to press, but police spokeswoman Monique Bond said the deaths appeared to be connected to domestic abuse.”

This is just such a terrible story that there’s really nothing that you can say about it except that our hearts truly go out Jennifer and her family and that in time, they will find the peace they need. Hopefully her nephew is found soon and that he is in good health and can also someday find a way to cope with the damage that has been done to him.
