Has Britney Lost it Again?

I really hate to say anything bad about Britney Spears. Well okay, maybe not anything but generally, I try to take it easy on the girl. She’s been through a lot of crap, has never had a life of her own, and has worked hard to rebuild herself. I realize she’s done all of this while rolling around in her millions of dollars but actually, she hasn’t been doing that lately. And she may not be for some time. And this post isn’t saying anything bad about Britney either. Except that I do feel badly for her and think that people should start to see she’s not all that crazy anymore.

Britney Spears had a court hearing on January 22 to decide whether or not her father, Jamie Spears, should remain her conservator. Unfortunately for Brit, the courts sided with her dad and Britney remains under his control. And from the sounds of it, she didn’t get a fair fight either. From National Enquirer,

“Britney Spears “completely broke down” in the car on the way home from her Jan. 22 court date after realizing she may never get out from under her father Jamie’s conservatorship, The ENQUIRER has learned.

And when the father and daughter arrived back at Britney’s home, she “tore into him like a mad woman,” divulged a source.

“Her bodyguards had to physically restrain her from hitting Jamie. It was a terrible scene. Britney was totally out of control.”

The 28-year-old performer had been hoping to speak to the judge privately during the hearing, which was closed to the public, but her request was denied. Instead, she listened as her doctors gave Jamie credit for her progress over the past year.

They also told the court Britney still wasn’t capable of handling her own medical care or personal life.

On the way home, Britney called ex-husband Kevin Federline and told him “she wants to flee the country with the boys,” divulged the source.

Fearing she may try to run, Jamie has hired two more bodyguards. One is posted outside Britney’s bedroom door 24 hours a day, according to the source.

Britney is so angry,she has tried to break several pieces of surveillance equipment used to monitor her.

“Her family is very worried because Britney hasn’t acted out like this in a long time,” added the source.

“They fear she will do something desperate.”

Okay, can we give the girl a break? Just a tiny one. Yes, I give Jamie Spears all the credit in the world for helping – helping- Britney get back on her feet. But no one can tell me that it didn’t take a hell of a lot of hard work on her part to make it happen. I can understand her ripping into her dad. I’d be pretty upset too if someone tried to make it clear 3 years after the fact that I couldn’t handle myself when I knew much, much better.

And as for the part about hitting him? Well, let’s just hope that’s not true. I mean, I can’t say I wouldn’t have hit him myself but it definitely doesn’t make her case any stronger. The same goes with taking off with the kids. Let’s hope that Britney really does know better at this point. That would look incredibly bad and I’m not sure, but I think she’s even capable of having charges pressed against her if she were to do something like that. Again, let’s hope that she knows better and that it’s not true. Or, in the very least, that it was something that was said in the heat of the moment and that Britney would never do it.

Michael Lohan Should Take Lessons from Jamie Spears

I hate to lump Michael Lohan’s name in with Jamie Spears when it comes to celebrity dads but sadly, when people hear the word ‘conservatorship’, they automatically think of Britney Spears and the legal hold that her dad still has over her. Unfortunately for Michael Lohan, that was a case of a father actually seeing that his daughter was in trouble and wanting to help her. It’s unfortunate for the ultimate schmuck of dads because Michael is now seeking to gain the same type of conservatorship over his daughter Lindsay. Of course, this enraged Lindsay and she went straight to Twitter to state her case. From Gossip Center,

“Having spent the Halloween holiday in Morocco, Lindsay Lohan made sure to fit in a little time to lash out at her dad, Michael Lohan, via her Twitter account.

The “Mean Girls” actress made her comments after reports surfaced claiming that her attention-loving dad was trying to gain conservatorship over her affairs and is shopping around personal taped family conversations.

Of the situation, LiLo tells, “My father is a lunatic & doesn’t even deserve such a title since he’s never been around in my life other than when he’d threaten me & my family. He should be where he has always put himself after verbally abusing and physically abusing people all my life-behind bars.”

Continuing on, Miss Lohan adds, “It’s so sad to get a phone call from my baby sister just now asking, ‘why is daddy doing this?’ Through tears. He’s crossed the lines & hurt me & my family 4 the last time.”

I have to say, Lindsay Lohan was once headed for trouble and now she’s knee-deep in it. I definitely do think that someone needs to step in at this point to try and help the girl out but I am also quite positive that person should not be Michael Lohan. If this is true, it would be the ultimate slap in the face to her, if any court were crazy enough to grant it, which is a whole other story in itself.

Britney May Soon be Her Own Woman!

Well, hallelujah! Britney Spears may have an extra bounce in her booty as her dad, Jamie Spears has deemed that she might be all better and ready to take care of herself again! Gives a whole new meaning to her hit cover of My Perogative! I’m thrilled about this news and it could be as soon as before Christmas that Britney will take the reins of her own life back in her hands! What makes me even happier about it is that it’s a decision that seems to have been made by Jamie. It sort of renews my respect in him a little bit. The current order needs to stay in effect until the end of her tour but after that, it may just be a matter of one small court appearance! From the Daily Blabber,

According to TMZ.com, Jamie Spears will ask the court to review the terms of the conservatorship after his girl’s tour ends in November. The judge will look over it over, check out how Britney’s been doing, and decide whether or not the mom should regain control of her life.

Jamie’s been the boss since February of 2008, but apparently thinks Brit has gotten her stuff together and is back on solid ground. TMZ seems to think that if she weren’t still on tour, the judge might have already given Britney her freedom back. Too bad that the vendors for the concert were promised under their contracts that the conservatorship would stay in tact throughout the tour.”

So, I guess if this goes through as it sounds like it will, the next question will be custody. Will Brit try to get her boys back? Or will she try to stand on her own two feet without any help before making that major step? It’s hard to say and the judge may make a ruling on that as well. There’s going to be a lot that’s up in the air, I’d say and we definitely won’t know more until this tour’s done with. But, things are definitely moving in the right direction!

Britney Has Naked Pics

Well, it seems that Britney’s breakdown constituted more than just simply her shaving her head, locking herself into a bathroom with her son and getting mixed up in the wrong sort of people. While she was making all of these mistakes, there’s one more that until very recently has been buried - Britney got topless and allowed someone (probably that rotten Adnan Ghalib or Sam Lutfi) to take pictures of her while she did it! The photos were taken while she was making her video of ‘Gimme More‘ and they are now available to the public. 

I don’t even know if we can call these photos ‘leaked’ since they were taken to be meant to be an actual part of the sexy video but they ended up being a little too sexy and never found their way into the video. Want to hear the really disturbing part? Her father, Jamie Spears, the one who is supposed to be making sure that she doesn’t do foolish things? Well it seems that he might have been there the entire time! Apparently, you can see a ‘dark figure’ in the room who’s thought to be Jamie Spears! Way to make sure that she’s staying right on top of things! I guess the pics were taken in 2007, which would place it before Brit’s breakdown peaked. But still, who wants to take their top off in front of their dad and who wants to watch their daughter dance around topless on a stripper’s pole? Eeewwww!!!!! From news.com,

The pop icon has reportedly been hitting the tourist trail with her sons, helped by ex Kevin Federline, in between her acclaimed gigs at London’s 02.

Meanwhile, in a number of photos released by Britney’s management recently, a heavy-set older man can be seen hovering in the background.

That’s her father, Jamie Spears, who has taken complete legal control of her life.

Under the terms of the conservatorship, all Britney’s spending has to be approved by her father, all her phone calls and texts are monitored, she can see only friends approved by her father and she is not allowed to drive a car.

She is under 24-hour watch — not only by Jamie, who seldom lets her out of his sight, but by her manager, Larry Rudolph, and a team of doctors, psychiatrists, child-welfare officers and bodyguards.

According to some reports, Jamie even checks whether she is wearing underwear when she goes out in public.”

I would like to just say one more time that I think it’s ridiculous that Jamie Spears is in such control of his daughter. Is all of that still really necessary? And do you really need to make sure that she’s wearing panties? God, if she’s such a mess still she should be in a facility receiving round the clock care. But I guess then she couldn’t make all of those millions for him.

I wasn’t even going to run this story because I love Britney (really, I do!) and I think that particularly awful time in her life is over and she should be allowed to move past it. But alas, for all of those who want to mock her, here’s another chance….

Jamie Spears Gets his Restraining Order

Earlier this month it was reported that Jamie Spears, conservator of his daughter and her estate, applied for a permanent restraining order against Sam Lutfi, the man who sent Britney’s life all to hell. Jamie didn’t get the permanent order that he was after but what he got is pretty good. Sam Lufti has been ordered to stay away from Britney and pretty much the air around her and the air around everything near her or that she owns, for a total of 3 years. I’m sure that after that time another order will be applied for but this works for the time being. Oh, and Lufti’s lawyer seems to think that they have some chance of getting out of it. “BRITNEY SPEARS’ former manager SAM LUTFI has been ordered to stay away from the pop superstar for three years.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva Bobb issued a harsh restraining order against Lutfi and his legal associate Jon Eardley on Tuesday (28Apr09).
Both men must stay at least 100 yards away from Britney, her two sons, and her family members’ homes.
Under the terms of the new order, they cannot contact the singer via phone, mail or email.
Spears’ father Jamie filed the restraining order request in January (09) after learning Lutfi had attempted to contact his daughter over Christmas (08), going so far as to smuggle a cell phone to the singer in a hotel.
Lutfi’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, tells People.com he plans to appeal the order on his client’s behalf, stating, “Never before in history has a restraining order been issued against someone who answered another person’s cries for help.”
Lutfi has filed a lawsuit against the Spears family for defamation and battery.”

I think even if Britney did try and make contact with them asking for help, which I’m pretty sure she didn’t do, it wouldn’t matter. Does Sam’s lawyer not understand that Britney does not have control over her own actions? It was Jamie that applied for the restraining order because it’s Jamie that decides what’s best for Britney. And on another note, does it not ring any alarm bells that someone who has a restraining order against them is absolutely adamant about appealing it? Obviously he’s not through with her and obviously the judge sees that.

Britney’s Continuing Troubles

Britney Spears just can’t cut a break. No matter how hard she works or how many improvements she’s made in her personal life, it seems that there’s always someone out to trash her. This time, it comes from two different directions. One, is not surprising and comes from the sister of Sam Lufti, who Britney currently has a restraining order against. Apparently, she’s testifying in court that Britney doesn’t actually want to stop contact with Sam and that Britney also asked Christina Lufti, Sam’s sister, to sneak her a cell phone - for the specific purposes of calling Sam. Of course, this is coming from Sam’s sister and she’s no doubt just doing whatever she thinks is best to protect her brother. “[Britney] told me she wanted to get a hold of Sam,” Christina Lufti, 25, told the court. “She wanted him to help her find a lawyer, and wanted someone to get a prepaid cell phone to her. She was scared because her father was blackmailing her with visitation rights over her kids.”

Brit and Christina supposedly met in a sauna in a hotel gym, where the girl gave Britney a cell phone, telling her it was from Sam and the pop star’s ex Adnan Ghalib. Britney hid the phone in her locker and, according to Christina, asked, “Will Sam be able to help me?’”

The phone was later found by Brit’s security guard and taken away (like she’s some criminal — or a baby!).

Jamie Spears’ laywer Blair Berk is singing a different tune. The attorney says Britney “was in such fear [of Sam], she asked if I could get him arrested, to keep him away from her,” and denies that the singer was seeking outside legal help.”

If I had heard this story even a year ago, I may have believed it. It can’t be much fun for Brit to be under her dad’s complete control and need things like allowances. However, it seems as though she has come to understand that this is what’s best for her right now and I think she has truly seen the light regarding Sam Lufti and all of his wrongdoings. I think if Britney were to be given the chance to get out from under her father’s conservatorship and truly make a go of things on her own, she’d prove that she’s just not this kind of stupid.

But legal battles aren’t the only problems that Britney’s having. StevieNicks who is the iconic singer and face of the band, Fleetwood Mac, has just public released some pretty harsh statements regarding Britney Spears and her ‘easy’ rise to fame. From Contact Music,

“FLEETWOOD MAC frontwoman STEVIE NICKS has blasted BRITNEY SPEARS - insisting the pop singer has never had to work hard for her career.
Nicks, whose hedonistic lifestyle in the 1970s and 80s saw her labelled as one of rock’s craziest characters, is not convinced Spears’ tumultuous past qualifies her as a real music icon and claims the singer hasn’t put in the hours she did as an upcoming artist.
She tells U.S. TV show Extra, “You have to pay your dues to be a real rock star. It’s different in that Britney did not join a band when she was 18 and practice every day for five hours Monday through Friday and then play gigs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.”

I love Stevie Nicks but I really don’t think she understands what Britney did to get as famous as she is. She didn’t just record ‘Hit Me Baby…One More Time’ one day, wake up the next and was a superstar. She did God knows how many auditions and things that we don’t even know about and was in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. While this may seem silly, that’s gotta be a lot of work for a kid that young. Along with all of this, she has a mother that was undoubtedly pushing, pushing, pushing her daughter to get into some kind of show business.

But regardless of whether or not Britney worked hard to get where she was initially, she’s worked extremely hard to get back there. She had to let the entire world see her at her very worst and she’s come back from it and has revived her music career, along with making serious strides in her personal health and life. I just don’t like to see someone else, especially someone who’s such a public and loved figure such as Stevie Nicks, come down so hard on Brit and act as though she’s so much better than her.

Sam Lufti Just Won’t Stop

Something weird happened to me this morning. I woke up, looked out the window and there was snow on the ground. Then I went to my computer, opened my browser and the first headline staring me in the face said something along the lines of ‘Sam Lufti is Trying to Ruin Britney’s Life.’ Just about the time I started wondering if they had gotten her out of the bathroom yet with her son, I looked down at my computer clock and realized that the date was actually 2009 - not 2008! Huh, coulda fooled me. Here we are, one year later and Sam Lufti is still trying to get something from Britney. Honestly, I guess this shows that some mistakes just take a very, very long time to go away. This time what does Sam want? His good name back! And he’s ready to sue to do it! From the Daily Blabber,

“Sam Lufti has filed a lawsuit against Britney Spears and her parents for libel and defamation. This comes just days after Jamie Spears got a restraining order against creepy Sam and Brit’s ex Adnan Ghalib.

Sam’s legal papers say all the stuff that the Spears family is saying about him is crap, and that he actually urged Britney to reconcile with her folks.

“Jamie and Lynne launched a campaign of lies and intimidation designed to destroy Lutfi and drive him out of Britney’s life,” the papers read. “This campaign also provided Jamie with the opportunity he needed to obtain an appointment as Britney’s conservator.”

He’s also claiming that Lynne Spears’ memoir, Through the Storm, is filled with “false statements,” and that it’s impacting his current career.

“Since the publication of the book, Lutfi has been subjected to unfathomable amounts of ridicule and scorn,” and has received “numerous death threats from overzealous fans,” the lawsuit reads, adding that Sam can “no longer find work as a counselor of at-risk teens.”

BAHAHA! The idea of Sam Lufti being any kind of a role model to anybody is just so laughable. He should be tied up in the courts until he’s retired because they’re trying to keep him away from teens, or anybody else! And people who already have deep-rooted issues? Why, because he’s proven himself to be so effective in those situations before? This is clearly tit for tat. Britney made him mad by not falling all over herself doing what he wanted her to do with that bogus legal document saying he still wanted to help her get her kids back and now, he’s doing the only thing that people around Britney know how to do - go for her money. I seriously doubt that he’s going to win his case. One, because just about everybody knows the kind of person that Sam is now and two,because it’s just not a strong case. I’m sure that those 4 people who read Lynne Spears’ piece of trash had nothing to do with the downfall of Sam Lufti’s career.

Britney’s Ongoing Hell

I can’t imagine what it must be like to be Britney Spears. This is a girl who has been in the spotlight her entire life and having made money from that spotlight, has been surrounded by people that want something from her. Imagine what it must be like to separate those who only want to use you for your money and fame from those who only want you to be happy. In Britney’s case, I don’t know that there’s too many people standing on the latter side of that equation.

There was recently a new restraining order slapped on Sam Lufti, the infamous ex-manager of Spears who reportedly drugged her and tried to take complete control of her life. This restraining order was requested by Jamie Spears, Britney’s dad and is the second order that has been out on Lufti, after one had expired in July. And then we have Adnan Ghalib, Britney’s ex-boytoy that she spent a brief time with during her crazy period. There was never a restraining order on him but now, it seems as though Lufti and Ghalib are trying to screw up the conservatorship arrangement that Jamie Spears now has. This is a document that has recently been released, written by Jon Eardley, lawyer for both Lufti and Ghalib. Oh yeah, and he’s right in the restraining order along with the other two scumbags. This document from The Evil Beet,

“You may not be aware of the fact that your civil rights were violated.

I have developed a legal strategy for you that I am confident will turn everything around, and ultimately garner you full custody of your children within approximately 30 to 60 days.

They will not be happy until they have denied you your freedom and milked you for your last dime. The custody case, as you know, is nothing more than a flat out extortion scheme, with your children being used as pawns.

Your case will continue to spiral until they have denied you your freedom, your children and your assets.

All I want is to see you win. I do not want anything in return and am willing to volunteer my time with you to see to it that you are successful in this custody case. I am not interested in publicity, money, or anything other than seeing you obtain full custody of your children.

Please recognize that aside from some anxiety and depression, which are totally normal under these circumstances, there is nothing wrong with you, but that the court system routinely engages in character assassination to conceal its internal bias and to break you down.

What they ultimately want is to get you into a conservatorship; at that point, your freedom will be denied, giving them the full opportunity to steal all of your money and to deny you any access to your children.”

Not only can I not imagine people only wanting to be around you because of the dollar signs that you represent to them but it’s unfathomable to me that someone would use her kids to get to her like that. Britney is in a position right now where she would do just about anything to get her kids back and although clearly, she was smart enough to see through this and do something about it, someone with a weaker state of mind may not have. It’s weird what people will do when they’re grasping at straws.

In good Britney news, it seems as though she may be getting more time with her kids anyway - sans the help of the aforementioned scum buckets. She and Federline have arranged for the boys to stay in one of three cities while she tours and she will commute every night after concert so that she can wake up and spend the day with her boys. Apparently, Britney and Kevin actually came to this agreement on their own and like the adults they actually are but now Kevin’s lawyers are angry that they weren’t involved. Again, people wanting control over Britney’s life when it’s not necessary!! Anway, good on ya, Brit! I hope you see those boys every day of your tour!

Why I Hate Jamie Spears

There’s something that really bothers me about Jamie Spears and that’s the fact that he is constantly cashing in on the fact that he is helping his daughter, Britney Spears, get better. First he gets paid so much money that he’s able to quit his full-time job. He got paid all of that money to take care of his daughter. Now the courts have awarded him $50,000 in back pay. For taking care of his daughter. Does no one else really see anything wrong with this? I will be the first to give Jamie Spears all the credit in the world for being such an integral part of Britney’s recovery but she was very sick and she is his daughter! If she didn’t have more money than God and wasn’t famous, I’d like to believe that he still would have helped her and not expected a big fat paycheck in return. From Celebitchy,

“Britney’s father Jamie, long credited for helping his daughter regain the sobriety and body shape required to reach mass appeal again, got an extra $51k from his daughter this Christmas. The court awarded him the money as back pay for overtime and increased work, which brings his value to around $75 per hour, or $16,125 per month retroactively. Jamie Spears will also get another $1,200 a month to rent an office.

Britney’s brother Bryan Spears is going to receive a whopping $200,000 for work he did for his sister before the conservatorship. Bryan is a co-trustee of Britney’s estate along with an attorney.”

Jamie Spears stands at the head of a long line of people, namely family members, who are always holding out their hands trying to make some money off of Brit and it just sickens me that her dad actually makes money off of helping her. Britney herself doesn’t seem bothered by the arrangement so I guess it might not be like how it appears to the public but I just wonder how many other parents are getting backpay and money for office rentals for helping their kids out when they need it the most.

Britney Shows her Kids her Roots

After a busy week showing up at Dodger Stadium to perform with Madonna, which was also the first public performance she has given since her embarrasment at last year’s MTV Awards, Britney Spears took a little chill time with both of her boys as she packed them up and took them to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, where her mother and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, live with along with Jamie Lynn’s little one, Maddie Briann. The reunion seemed to be a very happy one as the whole family, including brother Brian, is taking some time to reconnect. From Just Jared,

“Britney Spears takes her two sons — Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2 — home to Kentwood, Louisiana on Friday morning. The trio was accompanied by Britney’s older brother Brian and father Jamie.

They were all greeted at the airport by Britney’s mother Lynne. Britney, 26, and the kids are expected to stay in town for a week for a little family bonding.”

Once again, it’s nice to see Britney taking some time to show her boys what’s really important in life and this does just prove that she is off the road of recovery and has made it back to the land of the living. I’m glad that she’s better now but I wish she’d at least start seeing someone so we’d have something more interesting to talk about rather than just her family visits and great performances. But I suppose with the past couple of years that she’s had, it wouldn’t be a bad thing for her to stay boring Britney for a little while longer.
