Why I Hate Jamie Spears

There’s something that really bothers me about Jamie Spears and that’s the fact that he is constantly cashing in on the fact that he is helping his daughter, Britney Spears, get better. First he gets paid so much money that he’s able to quit his full-time job. He got paid all of that money to take care of his daughter. Now the courts have awarded him $50,000 in back pay. For taking care of his daughter. Does no one else really see anything wrong with this? I will be the first to give Jamie Spears all the credit in the world for being such an integral part of Britney’s recovery but she was very sick and she is his daughter! If she didn’t have more money than God and wasn’t famous, I’d like to believe that he still would have helped her and not expected a big fat paycheck in return. From Celebitchy,

“Britney’s father Jamie, long credited for helping his daughter regain the sobriety and body shape required to reach mass appeal again, got an extra $51k from his daughter this Christmas. The court awarded him the money as back pay for overtime and increased work, which brings his value to around $75 per hour, or $16,125 per month retroactively. Jamie Spears will also get another $1,200 a month to rent an office.

Britney’s brother Bryan Spears is going to receive a whopping $200,000 for work he did for his sister before the conservatorship. Bryan is a co-trustee of Britney’s estate along with an attorney.”

Jamie Spears stands at the head of a long line of people, namely family members, who are always holding out their hands trying to make some money off of Brit and it just sickens me that her dad actually makes money off of helping her. Britney herself doesn’t seem bothered by the arrangement so I guess it might not be like how it appears to the public but I just wonder how many other parents are getting backpay and money for office rentals for helping their kids out when they need it the most.

Britney Shows her Kids her Roots

After a busy week showing up at Dodger Stadium to perform with Madonna, which was also the first public performance she has given since her embarrasment at last year’s MTV Awards, Britney Spears took a little chill time with both of her boys as she packed them up and took them to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, where her mother and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, live with along with Jamie Lynn’s little one, Maddie Briann. The reunion seemed to be a very happy one as the whole family, including brother Brian, is taking some time to reconnect. From Just Jared,

“Britney Spears takes her two sons — Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2 — home to Kentwood, Louisiana on Friday morning. The trio was accompanied by Britney’s older brother Brian and father Jamie.

They were all greeted at the airport by Britney’s mother Lynne. Britney, 26, and the kids are expected to stay in town for a week for a little family bonding.”

Once again, it’s nice to see Britney taking some time to show her boys what’s really important in life and this does just prove that she is off the road of recovery and has made it back to the land of the living. I’m glad that she’s better now but I wish she’d at least start seeing someone so we’d have something more interesting to talk about rather than just her family visits and great performances. But I suppose with the past couple of years that she’s had, it wouldn’t be a bad thing for her to stay boring Britney for a little while longer.

Jamie Spears in Permanent Control

Now this is a story that saddens me. It’s no secret that ever since her breakdown in January, Britney Spears has worked to become a totally new person - sort of like the Britney we once knew but older and maybe just a little bit wiser. Certainly with more life lessons under her belt. And it’s no doubt due in part to the fact that her father, Jamie Spears, has been in control of pretty much everything that happens in Britney’s life. But ever since the hearing in July that would determine whether he would retain control or whether Britney would be left to have another go of it herself, I’ve been sort of leaning towards the latter side of things. But now, it seems as though that will never, ever happen as Jamie Spears has just recently been granted permanent conservatorship over his daughter. From the Daily Blabber,

“The pop star’s dad, along with her attorney, was granted permanent legal control of his daughter, a court ruled yesterday. The temporary conservatorship was set to expire on Dec. 31, but after court meetings and evaluations of Britney’s mental health records, her lawyer told the judge that the singer has no objections to Jamie Spears remaining in control.

“The court finds the proposed permanent conservatorship is necessary and appropriate [because of the] complexities of her financial and business entities and also potential for her being susceptible to influences,” said Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz, who has been presiding over the case.”

My problem here isn’t really with any particular person in this story. I have no doubt that Jamie only wants what’s best for his daughter and since this has been working so far, why not stick with it? However, with all of the great strides that she has made, I really would like to see her have enough confidence to try and remain on the right track all by herself. I mean, she’s gotten the proper help now and her family could be right there, waiting to step in should it really be too early for Britney to try this but I think she should at least be given the chance. Firstly though, I think that she should realize herself the positive moves that she’s made and she needs to give herself a chance.

Britney Loves her Daddy

So there’s no doubt that ever since Jamie Spears was appointed co-conservator of his daughter, Britney Spears’, estate that he has come under some heavy fire from critics. It’s come out that he’s billing Britney for things such as spending time with her two sons, yes, his grandchildren and for running out to the grocery store for her. Yes, his daughter. So it’s easy to see why people jumped all over him and voiced how they thought that Britney should be given back much more control, even if not all of it, and that her dad is just like everyone else in her life and only in it for the money. Or was all of this just me. Anyway, it seems that Britney has a very different opinion of the role her father has played in her life over the past year. The Daily Blabber gets this quote from Britney,

“My father saved my life. I probably wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. I’ve not always been a good daughter; but he basically gave up his job and his life to look after me at a time when I wasn’t even sure I wanted to go on living. I owe him my life.”

Well sure Britney, put it like that and of course it sounds good! No, there’s no doubt that he has been a hugely positive influence on her life and that things have definitely gotten much better since he stepped in. It may all seem to be a bit much at times but if Britney, who’s an adult, thinks that it’s best for her then for the time being, it probably is.

Jamie Spears Speaks Out

As often as Britney Spears is in the news and being quoted on various aspects of her life, her father, who is actually a major part of her life as her conservator, has never spoken about his new role in his daughter’s life. I must say, I was very down on Mr. Spears when this whole thing started because he was asking to be paid for the time spent taking care of his daughter and spending time with his grandchildren (yes, reports were that he actually wanted to be paid for that) but it may seem as though his heart really is in the right place. Celebrity Baby Scoop had pieces of an interview with him where he described the situation in a little more detail,

“We’ve grown a lot,” Jamie said. “I’ve been able to come back into my daughter’s life, and that was an adjustment anyway, because I’m an alcoholic and it’s the first time we’ve really been able to share. I don’t stay here anymore,” he said. “Every now and then, I’ll stay if we have something early in the morning we have to do.”It made no sense for that (custody) trial to proceed so we worked out an agreement,” he said. “The agreement says that on Oct. 1 we’ll probably get another overnight, and that will stay in place until the end of the year or the end of the conservatorship. I do understand that my baby made this monster. But when she was down, people took advantage.”

I’m glad that he has cleared the air on a few of the issues and it makes me see that he probably deep down really is just a father trying to connect and protect his daughter. But I really don’t understand his statement about how his “baby made this monster.” Is he saying that Britney did this to herself? Is Lynne Spears the baby he’s referring to? I’m honestly not trying to poke fun, I’m just very confused as to what he meant by that. Once again though, I say that I’m glad that Britney’s doing so much better and the fact that Jamie doesn’t even feel the need to stay there overnight anymore proves even further that great strides have been taken on the road to Britney‘s recovery.

Lynne Spears’ Disgusting Book

Whoever said you can’t live off of someone else’s happiness didn’t know Lynne Spears. The cover of her book Through the Storm has recently been released on the Internet and although the book is supposed to be about the life of raising two teen girls, Britney and Jamie Lynn, as well as her husband, Jamie Spears and their son, Brian Spears, only Lynne appears on the cover. I think that this is a true testament as to what the book is really about. It’s about Lynne. And how she is willing to do whatever it takes to exploit her family’s fame as well as their downfalls in order to make the almighty buck. Here is what US says the book is about,

“In this openhearted memoir, Lynne speaks about Britney, Jamie Lynn, Bryan, ex-husband Jamie, herself, and their lives together from Louisiana to Los Angeles, including:

It’s nice that they try to paint a picture of how it revolves largely around her faith but I never think it’s right to use religion as a shield of words when actions speak largely to the contrary. Let’s remember that this is a mother who couldn’t even be there when her pregnant teenage daughter needed her because she chose to stay with her daughter who has a mental condition, even though that daughter was in the perfectly good hands of her father. It’s this same woman who pushed Britney to join dance and singing lessons as well as beauty pageants at the young age of three! It’s this woman that was no where to be seen or heard of as Britney shaved her head, bared it all in public, and came into conflict with the paparazzi. She can call the book whatever she wants but I think we all know what it really is - a cash grab.

In the Latest Britney News

Britney Spears is certainly no stranger to being in the spotlight but she seems to have gotten at least a month’s worth of news in just this past week. From rumors of a new boyfriend to her current conservatorship’s status to making her musical comeback, it all seems to be good news and it’s good to see that she’s on the mend.

In perhaps the most interesting news for those of us that are always searching for the latest hookup and breakup is the rumor that Brit had found herself a new man - her former security guard turned her newest staff photographer. The rumors were sparked when the two were seen dancing in Cabo. The rumors were quickly dispelled. From E! Online,

“The two were spotted dancing and clowning around in Cabo this week, but it’s purely platonic, according to the guy’s brother.

“It’s strictly work,” Kobi Adato tells E! News of his brother, Tsour Lee Adato, a former Israeli army soldier.

“He was her bodyguard, but now he’s her photographer.”

Kobi would not reveal why his brother is now serving as Spears‘ designated photographer.

Even so, Tsour might make a good match for Britney. According to his MySpace, he is currently single, 31, 5’8″ with an athletic build, a Taurus, Jewish and is a college graduate.

He also says on the page: “like to make people Laugh & enjoy when i see them Happy…I always tell people that even when things are difficult they should always see the light and positive in life.”

Tsour also lists his occupation as a music engineer.”

I do think the two might make a very cute couple - going on the very little that I know of the two personally - but I think it’s in Britney’s best interest to keep to herself for now and figure out where her life is headed and continuing on with the new, positive path that she has decided to follow. Men can always come later, right now, Britney just needs to be Britney. I’m sure her conservator, Jamie Spears, would also agree with that and that takes us to the other news that Britney has been making. It was reported on Friday that Jamie Spears will hold all of the control over his daughter’s affairs until at least the end of the year - a decision which I’m quite sure drives Britney nuts! “Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz ordered Jamie Spears and Britney’s lawyer Samuel Ingham to keep responsibility of her financial and personal affairs until the end of the year.

“It is my understanding that Ms. Spears is reluctantly agreeing that we extend the temporary letters [of conservatorship],” said Goetz in the ruling.

Additionally, a restraining order against Spears’s former manager Sam Lutfi has been lifted. However, Ingham said that the popstar has no desire to see him.

“Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama ‘Sam’ Lutfi,” his statement said.”

I’m not quite sure what that whole Sam Lutfi situation was about. He was her best friend, and then stealing from her, and she wanted to be his friend but her dad didn’t, I’m really not quite sure. It does seem though like another good thing that he won’t be hanging around Britney too much, whatever the story is there.

And the last bit of Brit is that she has been nominated for the VMA Award for the “Best Pop Video Category.” This is wonderful news and hopefully, Britney will be making the same kind of strides in her career that she has made in her personal life. There’s also talk that she is scheduled to appear on another episode of How I Met Your Mother. She is awesome on that show and I think that they should just make her a regular! As a side note, Britney is getting back in line when it comes to getting her former body back as well. She looks great in the photos that were released of her time in Cabo!

It’s a Girl for Jamie Lynn!!

After months and months of blogging and tabloid reporting all the way along Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy, it’s finally all over as she delivered a baby girl this morning. From Ninja Dude,

“PEOPLE confirms exclusively that the baby was named Maddie Briann. “Just the family was there,” says a source about the birth around 9:30 a.m. at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown. “Everyone is healthy and happy.” Jamie Lynn’s sister Britney, father Jamie and brother Bryan flew in Wednesday to be with her for the birth; her mother Lynne had been with her helping her get ready for the baby.”

I just think - finally!!!! Not only did she finally have her baby but there’s also a celebrity who finally named their child something normal! No fruit or field workers names here, just simply Maddie Briann. Totally southern, totally sweet and I’m very happy for her! Looks like her sister, Britney got there just in time as she has recently gone to the family’s home to be with her sister. It’s a happy time for them and hopefully, people won’t want to turn it into something sour.

Britney Goes Home and Her Dad Sells the House

Britney Spears has decided to go home and visit with her sister Jamie Lynn while she anticipates the arrival of her new baby, which is due at the end of the month. Meanwhile her dad, Jamie Spears is going to remain in L.A. for a little while as he tries to sell her house. While this may sound shady at first, Britney is actually looking for a home closer to her two kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James. From Celebitchy,

“Earlier today, a Los Angeles court commissioner OK’d a request from Spears’ conservatorship asking for permission to put the property on the market. The court approval comes days after Spears was spotted looking at a $5.6 million, 7,300-square-foot house (above) in the L.A. suburb of Encino, closer to the home base of ex-husband Kevin Federline and the ex-couple’s sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Spears has not exactly endeared herself to fellow denizens of the community, who have complained about the constant presence of paparazzi outside the gates. Some reports have blamed Spears

as the reason neighbor Ed McMahon has not received a single offer on his $6.5 million house that’s facing foreclosure.”

Jamie Spears’ position as conservatorship of her estate is up for review at the beginning of August and if Britney wants to keep him on, things will continue as they have been. If she doesn’t want him overseeing her every move, she can then decide to take things to trial and apply to be her own person, in essence. I hope that she does decide to go to jury trial. Now that she is on medication and it’s been determined that she had a medical issue, I’d be interested to see how Brit would make it on her own.

Meanwhile, we all await Jamie Lynn’s new bundle. I think it’s great that her big sister is coming down to support her for as long as a month. I think she’s probably going to need all the support she can get. I don’t know that Britney should be doling out parenting advice for the time being but she can definitely give lil sis a hug when Jamie Lynn is feeling overwhelmed.

Jamie Spears’ Father’s Day - Complain, Complain, Complain

While most fathers, including those in Tinseltown, spent their big day on Sunday hanging out with their kids throwing a ball around or going out for supper, Jamie Spears decided to pounce on the opportunity to complain about how hard his life is. Did you know he had to quit his full-time job to take care of daughter Britney? Did you know that it wasn’t an easy job? Did you know - and I say it again - it’s his daughter he’s taking care of? Because apparently he doesn’t realize that. From eonline,

“Following up on his petition to collect “replacement compensation” for the month of February for being the coconservator of his daughter’s estate, Jamie Spears stated in a declaration filed June 6 that, starting Feb. 1, when he was first given control over Britney’s affairs following her second hospitalization this year, he was with her “on a near-twenty-four-hour basis to ensure her safety and well-being.”

A court commissioner did not allocate $2,500 a week for the elder Spears—plus funds to lease a car—until March 3.

“After Britney was released from the hospital, I brought Britney home and secured her living and care situation,” Spears said.

“Throughout the time period, I ran errands, including buying groceries and cooking supper on a daily basis. I talked frequently with Britney about her health status…I arranged for Britney’s transport and security to go shopping and so that she could teach a dance class.”

The Spears family’s current arrangement is in effect until at least July 31, when the conservatorship issue is due to be revisited in court.

Jamie Spears also included time spent with the kids—grandsons Jayden James and Sean Preston and ex-son-in-law Kevin Federline—as well as meetings with Britney’s lawyers and doctors, in his list of billable accomplishments over the month of February.

“I visited with Britney’s children and their father, Mr. Federline,” he stated. “I met and consulted attorneys. I also continued to consult with and meet Britney’s doctors and care providers.”

Is he kidding? He wants back pay for taking care of his kid? And for spending time with her and his grandchildren? Oh, I forgot. He had to spend time with Kevin Federline as well. Wasn’t that around the same time that he was trying to strike up a deal with him to run a restaurant? I pray that the court does not allow him to continue the conservatorship past this July. Proving where your “billable hours” are doesn’t account for much when you’re including things such as spending time with your family. I certainly hope that if I’m ever sick, my mom doesn’t charge me for helping me get healthy again.
