Are Drew and Jason a New Couple?

I hadn’t heard much about Drew Barrymore after her heartbreaking break-up with Justin Long this past July and after it was rumored that the split hit her so hard that she had taken back to drinking but it seems that she has been quite busy lately with what could be a new love interest. She was reportedly with Jason Segel, who plays Marshall on How I Met Your Mother, at the end of last month and the two were seen being very friendly with each other. Well, from the sounds of it, Drew was busy licking his face while he sat with a look of sheer contentment. From Contact Music,

“But Barrymore has reportedly moved on again with the How I Met Your Mother star Segel, after their pair were allegedly spotted getting cozy at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont on 28 November (08).
A source tells U.S. magazine Star, “Drew was all over Jason, rubbing him and kissing his face. He was on cloud nine.”

I loved Drew and Justin together and I was shocked and saddened when they broke up but the fact that she has moved on to someone as awesome as Jason Segel really does help make it better for me. He is hysterical and I can imagine that these two would be so much fun together! Whoever she’s with, I hope the ‘back on the wagon’ rumors were just that and that Drew has realized at this phase in the game that men just aren’t worth ruining your life over.

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!

Maureen McCormick, who many know much better as Marsha Brady, has recently come out with a book titled Here’s the Story in which she explains in detail how she was a major cokehead and even exchanged sex adn allowed herself to be videotaped, all in the name of getting more drugs. She almost completely ruined her career, lost a lot of respect among some very big-wigs in Hollywood, including Steven Spielberg and how it mostly, completely ruined her life. From the UK’s Telegraph,

“In her book, McCormick, now 52, tells how she got deeper and deeper into Hollywood’s drug scene - even after a powerful producer threatened to stop her working in Tinseltown.

“I sought refuge in seemingly glamorous cocaine dens above Hollywood. I thought I would find answers there, while in reality I was simply running farther from myself. From there, I spiralled downward on a path of self-destruction that cost me my career and very nearly my life,” she writes.

“Over the years I battled drug addiction and bulimia. I was treated in a psych ward, went in and out of rehab, and looked to God for answers.”

McCormick says she traded sex for drugs with a Hollywood cocaine dealer who later went to jail, and once allowed an older man she met at the Playboy Mansion to videotape her naked in exchange for drugs.

She began to “free-base” cocaine with a music-industry boyfriend and the two once spent a week binging in a hotel room with a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door.

On one occasion, she took amyl nitrate pills, or “poppers”, from a bowl on the coffee table at a party at Sammy Davis Jr’s Los Angeles home.

On another, she turned up to an audition with Steven Spielberg for “Raiders of the Lost Ark” completely “messed up” after being awake for several days on drugs. He politely offered her an orange and did not give her the part.”

I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to be a kid and growing up in those kinds of surroundings. Lord knows that many child actors (think Drew Barrymore) that have grown up in that environment have gone on to battle some pretty serious substance abuse problems and I think it’s so great that she has come out with a book talking about it all. Not because I’m going to rush out and buy it or because I’m extremely interested in a behind-the-scenes look at her life or life on the set of The Brady Bunch but because I can only assume that the whole entire process was so therapeutic for her and was truly a good thing. I’m not putting this on the shelf with the rest of the ‘total exploitation’ books out there, such as Rosie O’Donnell’s Celebrity Detox, which is just filled with vile, hateful misrepresentations and I’m sure was in no way therapeutic but only leads to a more destructive path. I am very happy for Maureen that she has been able to come through it all and still maintain her dignity and grace that she has always possessed. She claims that she was never in any way like Marsha Brady but I think in the way of always being able to show class, this has definitely brought her one step closer.

Celebrities Finding Love

What would celebrities be without their constant quest for love? Okay, and money and fame, and just about everything else but it is true that Tinseltown is like one big soap opera. And in good soap fashion, this week there are lots of couples that have been busy making a love connection!

It seems that Naomi Campbellmay have found a special someone. His name is Vladislav Doronin and he’s a billionaire. Recently she has been quoted as saying that she wants babies and she doesn’t need a baby daddy to do it. Hmm…perhaps she’s found someone after all. Here’s hoping that he’s also on the baby train. Or into creating huge public scenes by hitting innocent bystanders. I mean, you have to have something in common

Michelle Williams has also been rumored to have started something with Spike Jonze. I’m very happy for her and I hope it works out but Jonze doesn’t have the best track record. He once dated Drew Barrymore, another one of Drew’s relationships that ended in heartache and he was also married at one time to Sofia Coppola.

And who doesn’t love Ryan Gosling with Rachel McAdams? These two were very hot and heavy during the filming of The Notebook, in which they both starred. At the time, things progressed quickly and there was talk of a wedding even when things turned suddenly sour and the two split up. Now it seems they may be back together as Rachel was at the Green Room Lounge on Tuesday. Ryan was deejaying and Rachel was there to support him.

Competing for the title of “Most Pathetic Reunion EVER!” is Paula Abdul and JT Torregiani. Not only did these two break up in April and practically no one noticed but they are now getting back together. That’s not the pathetic part. Apparently, Paula baby is perfectly content to just sit around and wait until men have time for her. That seems to be the case here as the reason for their breakup was that JT didn’t have time for any love interests as he opened up his new business venture, Beso. Now that that is said and done, he wants to date Paula again and she has accepted. PUH-THA-TIC!!!

Kate No Longer Taking the Tour de Lance

This has been the summer of hot romances and unexpected break-ups. First Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have a whirlwind romance that seems to be unbreakable and they suddenly break up and now Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong have ended their intense summer romance for reasons that remain unknown. From the Daily Blabber,

“The couple, who had been dating for about three months, have reportedly split. They were both at the Lance Armstrong Livestrong Summit in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend, and that’s where said breakup supposedly took place.

“There was no drama or ugliness – They just decided to end things,” a source close to the couple told UsMagazine.com. “There is no hatred, just sadness.”

I really thought that after having both their fair share of heartache, this might really have been it for both of them. It’s sad to see such a great relationship split up after you see them interacting with each other’s family and kids so well. Not to mention that Kate and Lance are both just so darn cute you just wanna pinch their cheeks! It’s hard to swallow that such great couples break up and people like Paris and Benji are still together!

The Real Reason for Drew/Justin Split?

Well now this is a story that is truly sad. Drew Barrymore is one of my favorite actresses and so, when she split with Justin Long, it was sad to see her heart splattered all over the front pages once again. But what’s even sadder is that Drew may be finding her way back to slow self-destruction as she turns to alcohol once again. From The Evil Beet,

“Until recently, Barrymore and Long had planned to wed – that is until booze resumed its hold on the former child star.

“Justin got tired of having to help Drew to the car at the end of the night,” an insider told The ENQUIRER.

“He felt that Drew’s ‘work hard, play hard’ attitude was more than he could take.”

Drew – who began using drugs and alcohol as a child and did stints in rehab as a teen – now believes she has control over her drinking, the insider divulged.

“Justin gently suggested to Drew that they both slow down on the drinking, and she didn’t take it well,” said the insider.

“Her inability to accept Justin’s advice became the deal breaker.”

I do very much hope that this story isn’t true but honestly, I hope Drew can sort out whatever it is that she’s going through and I still think that it’s just too bad it didn’t work out with Justin. The two were just so cute together I could barely stand it! Justin however, not even two weeks after their split has been seen getting very cozy with Kirsten Dunst, another one of my faves when it comes to actresses.

The End of Justin and Drew

It breaks my heart to say that Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have broken up. This relationship seems to have gone the same way that all of Drew’s relationships do. They meet, they are very public about their relationship in its early stages, claiming from the rooftops how passionate they are about each other and then over a few months, it slowly fizzles out. Well at least she didn’t marry him this time. From The Pop Crunch Show,

“Drew Barrymore and the “Apple Mac Commercial Guy” have called it quits. A rep announced the former child star’s split from actor Justin Long on Monday.

“They are still friends,” Barrymore’s publicist tells Us Magazine.

Drew and Justin had been dating since August 2007.”

It really is sort of sad because these two just seemed so perfect together! Hopefully Drew’s ship will soon come in and she finds what she’s looking for. And Justin? I’m pretty sure he’ll be fine.

A Fun Ditty for the Jen Haters

Fair is fair and with all the crap I talk about Angelina Jolie, it’s only fair that I throw in a catty Jen story once in a while. Although I want to say I remain true to Jen and love her and support her, this is a chance for all you haters to get your rage out as well! It seems that Jen may have a problem with several women in her life and that her tiny little green monster may be rearing it’s ugly head in more places than one. From New Chatter,

“She is reported to have demanded that Jennifer Connelly, her costar in the upcoming film He’s Just not That Into You, not be on the cover of Marie Claire with her. Seems she doesn’t mind Drew Barrymore and Ginnifer Goodwin being pictured, but she doesn’t want Jen C. anywhere near it.”

This could definitely be seen as jealousy on Ms. Aniston’s part and adds fuel to the rumors that she is secretly still incredibly jealous of Angelina Jolie. I brush it off as false reporting.
