David Duchovny and his Marriage on the Mend

It seems as though the split that happened between David Duchovny and his wife, Tea Leoni, may become null and void after all. It was only late last month that the two announced that they were getting a divorce, after David’s release from a sexual addiction rehab center. When that story was announced, David’s tennis coach was being blamed for the marriage falling apart. Apparently David had been getting a few extra lessons on the side. So whether that relationship dissolved as well or whether something else is going on, this is what Digital Spy has to say about it,

“David Duchovny and Téa Leoni have reportedly reconciled their marriage.

The pair were allegedly spotted looking “very mellow and relaxed” while taking their children trick-or-treating in New York’s Upper East Side over Hallowe’en, sparking rumours that they are back together.

“They were very cute and were holding hands,” a source told the New York Post.”

Now I don’t know that going trick-or-treating together constitutes a deep meaningul relationship or reconcilation. Perhaps they were just trying to appear loving for the sake of their children or maybe they really have discovered that there is no one else for either one of them but each other. I guess we’ll have to wait and see as no one from either camps has issued any kind of statement.

So this is when Sexual Addiction Becomes a Problem

I guess there may have been a little more to David Duchovny’s sexual addiction than we all thought. It may not have been a simple case of a man wanting more in his pants than his marriage allowed, it could have actually acted on those wants! Such may be the case here as Duchovny’s ‘tennis coach’, Edit Parkay, may have had somethign to do with their split. I always think it’s best that if people don’t know what to say, they should just keep their mouth shut and she is a prime example. It’s clear that there is definitely something to hide here and she’s doing her damnest to do it, all the while trying to remain honest. Someone should tell sweet little Edit that you can’t be sneaky and honorable at the same time. From US,

“We played tennis, and we were playing partners and friends,” Edit Parkay told E! News Monday. “There is no romance, and we are just friends. No love, nothing. That is all I have to say.”

“We have a very, very close friendship,” she told the British paper. “He is in great shape. He is a wonderful man. He’s very intelligent, very kind and good man.”

Asked if they were romantically linked, Parkay said, “I don’t want to say anything that might hurt David. I am not going to deny it. I don’t know what our relationship means to him.”

But Duchovny’s lawyer, Stanton “Larry” Stein, told E! News that the London’s Daily Mail story was “all lies and deceit.

“Edit Pakay met with me personally before this article came out and told me she never had a sexual or romantic relationship with David,” Stein said.”

Well of course his lawyer’s going to say that! I hope it showed Edit that he will in fact sell you down the river if need be and that should indicate a lot of what their relationship is. I guess we won’t hear too much more on this, at least until David’s divorce from Tea Leoni is final, as then they will feel that it’s okay to then put your adulterous love on display, as other Hollywood cheaters seem to be doing.

Sometimes Rehab Just Ain’t Enough

David Duchovny has been admitted and released from a sex rehab clinic and although there were rumors about his marriage to Tea Leoni being on the rocks long before then, it seems that those rumors are just now coming to light. They say that they have been separated for months and that they wanted to keep it quiet for the sake of their kids and while I don’t deny that any of that is true, I have to question whether or not David or Tea thought that curing the sexual addiction problem would also fix many of the problems that they had in their marriage. If they did think that, it seems that either the therapy didn’t take or the problems were just too great to overcome by spending a little bit of time with a shrink as they have now officially announced that they are in fact, getting divorced. The X-Files star, 48, and Leoni were spotted arm-in-arm at the Czech Festival in New York City earlier this month.

Sources told Usmagazine.com that they weren’t shocked about the revelation.

“He’s a guy who loves women,” a Californication insider told Us. “He’s always noticed an attractive lady.”

In 1997, the actor denied rumors about his sexual appetite.

“I’m not a sex addict,” Duchovny told Playgirl magazine then. “I have never been to those meetings. It’s hurtful to my family and if I was involved with a woman in a monogamous relationship, it would be hurtful to her. There was another story claiming I was a neat freak. If I had to choose one of the two, I think I’d rather be a sex addict. It’s not funny and I’ll be glad when it goes away.”

Well, David, it looks like you got your wish - you’re a sex addict - YAY!!! Please. I do understand why celebrities won’t make comments on their personal lives or why they will deny *certain* things but when you go into this elaborate monlogue about how disrespectful it is to you and your partner, you really are just going too far and it makes you look like a pathetic liar. It also bothers, bothers, bothers me immensely when stars feel that they have to put on this big charade, such as US states they did only one month ago when supposedly they already knew they were getting a divorce. This just shows that stars really do think we’re stupid. Were they planning on getting together for red carpet events for the rest of their lives? Or showing up arm in arm with each other wherever the other one went, all the while knowing that their marriage is over? How long did they think it would take us to figure out that David had another girlfriend - because you know that won’t take long!

Duchovny Speaks about Addiction

It must be catch-up weekend because everyone seems to be giving updates on the stories of the past week, which we always love and fully appreciate! David Duchovny was of course, checked into an addiction facility voluntarily just a few days ago and there was really nothing else said about it except for his plea to respect their family and their privacy. So I suppose he’s thought it’s been enough time because he has released a statement that addresses the issue to People, “But the actor, who has now entered a rehabilitation center for sex addiction, was always quick to add that his marriage to actress Téa Leoni was a pretty good reason to keep his libido in check.

“Twelve years ago, I would have been hard-pressed to understand why I’d want to be involved sexually with one person this long,” the X Files and Californication actor told Best Life magazine earlier this year.

“Before Téa, the longest my intense sexual interest would last would be maybe two years,” he said. “But the real rewards of a relationship come after you’ve been together a while. That’s where Téa and I are lucky.”

Duchovny, 48, and Leoni, 42, were married in 1997 and have two children, Madelaine, 9, and Kyd, 6.”

I think it’s great that even after you’ve been married for awhile and have had children, some Hollywood couples still manage to truly love each other and support each other. I also like it when stars realize that they are in the public eye and so they should issue some sort of statement regarding what they’re going through. Really I think the more they run from it, the more the media presses so letting us in on little details is really just helping themselves out I think and you have to give Duchovny credit for going public with this one. This is a little bit of an embarrasing issue and for other people that struggle with it, and probably don’t want to talk about it, it may be helpful to know that this little-talked about issue is one that affects many.

David Duchovny is a Sex Addict

I don’t know if this is funny or sad but David Duchovny has recently checked himself into a sex rehabilitation center. This is what the Chicago Tribune reported about it,

“Tea Leoni’s husband, actor David Duchovny, has entered rehab for his sex addiction.

Duchovny, 48, said he did it voluntarily, in a statement released Thursday by his lawyer, Stanton Stein. He added: “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

Duchovny’s publicist, Flo Grace, confirmed the report, which first appeared on the Web site People.com. She and Stein both declined further comment.”

I guess all families have problems, no matter how crazy those problems may seem. I don’t know why he couldn’t check himself in somewhat quietly - I guess nothing is quiet in Hollywood and he decided that it would be better for fans to hear it from him than the media. I don’t think however that he or his family will receive the privacy and respect that they are hoping for though. Nothing’s sacred in the world of Tinseltown and now that the cat’s out of the bag, I think I can already hear the paps pulling out their cameras as they huddle as close as they can get to the center David has checked himself into.

Anderson Pregnant with a Third

Gillian Anderson has been a busy bee lately. She has just announced that she is expecting again, just before she turns 40. The child will be the second for her and boyfriend Mark Griffiths who have a son named Oscar, born in 2002. Anderson also has a daughter, Piper, 13, from another marriage. Although this is the first that many people have heard of the pregnancy, Anderson is expected to give birth in a couple of months. The pregnancy reportedly caused many problems while she was on the set of the new X-Files movie, due out this July. From Mail Online,

“Anderson, 39, admitted she found working on the action movie a gruelling task - as she is not as fit as her co-star David Duchovny. So she left him to do majority of the stunts.

She said:’”It was hard work. I’m too old for this. David’s in the best shape of his life and did most of the work. He’s climbing and jumping off cliffs.

‘I was more exhausted by the end of it than he was. I’m a wimp.’

The X-Files TV show officially ended in 2002 but the actress has revived her character F.B.I. Special Agent Dana Scully for the series’ second full-length feature film.

Special Agents Mulder and Scully are reunited on the big screen after six years apart.”

Wouldn’t it be cool if that baby came just a tiny bit early and was born on the same day the movie was released?
