Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Are Engaged!!!

December 22nd, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher

Oh, be still my beating heart, they’ve gone and done it! Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have gotten engaged!! I am so super excited about two of my most very favorite stars getting together and preparing to spend the rest of their lives together! Well, it’s Hollywood so who knows if it really will be ‘to death do us part’ but these two have seemed to stay pretty real ever since they first hooked up so, it really could be the real thing this time. US has most of the details, what with how quiet the two were about their relationship in the beginning, and Carrie’s song to Mikey on her latest album. But it seems that there are little details to be given out about the engagement or the upcoming wedding, even though Carrie’s reps and Fisher himself have confirmed that the story is true. From US,

“Carrie Underwood and Ottawa Senator hockey player Mike Fisher are engaged, her rep tells UsMagazine.com.

“I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier,” the rep tells Us. “No wedding date has been set at this time.”

According to the Ottawa Sun, he also confirmed the news at a press conference Monday. He said he popped the question Sunday, but declined to offer any other details.

“It’s true,” he said. “We’re both obviously excited and very happy.”

His teammate Chris Neil said Fisher, 29, called him shortly after he proposed. “I think it’s great,” Neil told reporters. “It’s a long time coming. There’s going to be a lot of broken hearts in Ottawa with all those girls who are in love with Mikey.”

Underwood, 26, and Fisher have mostly been hush-hush about their relationship since they began dating last year.

But lately, they’ve been opening up.

Underwood gushed about the hockey player, 29, on the liner notes of her new CD, Play On.

“Thank you #12,” she wrote, referring to his jersey number. “You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day… xoxo, Carrie.”

He also praised her singing during a recent chat on The Sens Show, a Web news program for his team.

“She can sing anything – I like it when she sings a good rock song,” he said.

He added that she was “very committed” and worked “extremely hard. She doesn’t get too many days off – a lot less days off than I get. She’s always going.”

Despite their tough schedules, “we always find a way to make it work,” he said.

Now that they’re engaged, are babies next?

In the January issue of Self, she opened up about wanting to start a family.

“Not that I have a husband to have one with yet, but someday I’d like a family – not a big one, but not a small one either,” she said. “Two kids is good; three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!”

Aaaww, these two are so cute!!! I can’t wait to watch and see what becomes of them and I’m just so, so happy that this didn’t become another relationship that quickly headed for Splitsville. A very heartfelt congratulations goes out to both of them and we can’t wait to hear more about wedding details!

Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood Both New at Relationships

November 24th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher

So maybe the secret to a high-profile relationship is it stemming from two people who are very low-profile in their past dating relationships? So seems to be the case with Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood, who have been very public about their relationship lately. Carrie has been showing up more and more often at Senators games and she also included a line on her new album, Play On to him, telling him outright that she loved him. Mike in response seems to be going with blushing and indirectly telling us that he feels exactly the same way about her. These two are just so cute it kills me!

And even though they do seem to love each other very much, neither of them are seriously thinking about marriage or moving in together at this point. Mike has both denied it and Carrie has made it very clear that her old fashioned values go farther than just into her songs. So even though I think we will see these two get married someday, it won’t be any day soon. From US,

“He’s a star hockey player for the Ottawa Senators today, but Mike Fisher might be turning over a new leaf: recording artist!

After his girlfriend Carrie Underwood wrote “I love you” to him in her new album’s liner notes, the 29 year-old athlete jokes, “I told her that when my CD came out, I’d return the favor.”

In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Fisher poo-poos marriage talk but admits that Underwood, 26, is only his second “serious girlfriend.”

“There has been only one other girlfriend, really,” he says. “It lasted a while, but it was a long time ago.”

Similarly, Underwood recently told Ellen DeGeneres that her one-year relationship with Fisher is “the longest relationship I’ve had.”

In the Play On liner notes, Underwood coos of Fisher. “You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day.”

“Obviously, it was very nice,” Fisher tells the Toronto Sun of the tribute. “I was happy she included me in something like that.”

Stressing their need for privacy, Fisher acknowledges, “we’re both happy with the way things are . . . I’m obviously happy . . .things are great off the ice.”

Last week on Ellen, Underwood stressed that they have no plans to move in together. “Call me old fashioned,” she said. “The next guy I move in with will be my hubby. Who ever that is. I’m not saying it’s going to be him.”

Sigh. These two make my heart pitter patter.

Tony Romo is Movin On

September 7th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Candice Crawford, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo

When Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson split up earlier this summer, most of the blame was placed on Jessica’s shoulders. Either she was drinking and partying too much, or she had a bad case of jealousy. Either way, it was Jessica’s fault, and I didn’t like it. Mostly because I think Tony Romo is a giant crap-pile. But now it seems that if they did break up, it may be because Romo was done with the serious relationship thing and wanted to move on to someone new. But has he really?

Yes, Tony Romo has a new girlfriend. She’s a beauty queen (literally), and the sister of Chace Crawford. Yep, she’s Candice Crawford, Miss Missouri. And why do I doubt that this new girl is actually new? Only because she looks like a carbon copy of Tony’s last serious girlfriends – Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood. I guess blonde locks and a killer smile is all you really need to date Tony. From Bump Shack,

“Jessica Simpson’s ex-boyfriend, Tony Romo, is reportedly dating Miss Missouri Candice Crawford, the sister of Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford. How did the quarterback meet the beauty queen!?!

The 22 year-old model currently works as a Dallas TV sports reporter covering Tony’s Dallas Cowboys team.”

I wonder if it will last beyond the NFL season? Tony has always been one that’s shown no fear about commitment. But after Carrie and Jessica, maybe he’s ready to just have a little fun without being Mr. Boyfriend. I just wish he had hooked up with someone who looked just a tiny bit different. It’s starting to get really boring seeing who Romo’s newest girl is when they all look exactly the same.

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson: Splitsville!

July 14th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson, Mike Fisher, Nick Lachey, Tony Romo, Vanessa Minnillo

Wow, I didn’t see this one coming! I really thought that Jessica Simpson would have Tony Romo entrenched in herself as much as she is for a very, very long time. And I also sort of expected that she would con him into doing a show after they got married. Something along the lines of The New Newlyweds, perhaps? But none of that is going to happen now as Romo has kicked Simpson to the curb. Not only did he dump her but he did it the day before her birthday. Normally I would say that that’s cruel and unusual. But seeing as how Jessica was planning a Barbie and Ken-themed birthday party, I’d say that Tony escaped some cruel and unusual punishment himself. And just in the nick of time, too! From US,

“Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have called it quits, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

A source close to Simpson confirms they broke up the night before her 29th birthday July 10. She was supposed to celebrate with a Ken and Barbie-themed party. (On Simpson’s birthday, Romo spent the night at Los Angeles hot spot My House.)

“She canceled her party because of this,” the source tells Us. “She’s doing OK.”

“Barbie party didn’t happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!” she wrote on her Twitter page Saturday.

Later, she wrote: “Everyone needs to know that hope floats…grab the strings and pull it back to you… Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please, Lord, give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace.”

A close friend of Romo’s tells Us of the split: “It’s been a long time coming.”

Still, another source tells Us the volatile couple could always get back together. “They go from one fight right into another, without a second break,” the source tells Us. “It’s always something with Jessica.”

Simpson’s rep had no comment.”

I wonder if the Dallas Cowboys are happier now that Simpson will no longer be a ‘distraction’ for Tony (if those rumors are believed to be true.) Either way, I’m sure that Tony’s much happier. I can’t imagine the patience that it takes to be dating Jessica Simpson. Not only is she the epitome of dumb blonde but she’s also the epitome of spoiled brat.

I wonder if Tony Romo will set his sights back on Carrie Underwood. There were also rumors while he was dating Jessica that he couldn’t stop himself from calling Carrie. Hopefully he’ll just focus on his football career now as Carrie seems pretty happy with her new beau, Mike Fisher too. Or will Jessica go back to Nick Lachey, who also recently split with his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo. I really don’t think that will happen either as I think Nick sort of hates Jessica now. I have nothing to base that on, except that I saw him getting endlessly frustrated with her on that horrible reality TV show they did together. But, these are all questions that we get to ponder as we wait to see who Jessica winds up with next. Who knows? If these ‘friends’ of Jessica’s are to be believed, these two could very well end up back together. But, I’m pretty sure that Tony has finally gotten fed up and isn’t about to go down that road again!

All the Fuss over Carrie’s Acceptance Speech

April 7th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Matthew McConaughey, Mike Fisher

Carrie Underwood certainly made her presence known at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, as she always does, and this time she did it by taking home the Entertainer of the Year award. This made news for many reasons, mostly because she’s only the 7th woman ever in the history of the awards to win the award and because she wrested it away from Kenny Chesney, who had he won, been the winner for 5 years in a row. But this huge accomplishment was all overshadowed by Carrie’s own acceptance speech. Two things came from that speech - Carrie went public with her relationship with Mike Fisher and she embarrassed herself, in separate comments.

When thanking everyone that was important in her life, including her family and God, Carrie also thanked her beau-hunk, Fisher, who plays center for the Ottawa Senators. I missed out on seeing Carrie accept her award but you can clearly hear her beaming through the quote. From US,

“When the former American Idol champ won for Entertainer of the Year, she used her acceptance speech to tell her boyfriend, Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, that she missed him.

“Mike, baby, I wish you were here!” Underwood said.”

So not only did she confirm to everyone that she is indeed dating the hottie hockey player (because being seen at the games wasn’t enough) but it also seems to be quite serious. I mean, to get a shout-out during one of the biggest moments of her life, that’s really something. Someone else got a shout-out too but this one, Carrie really just wishes everyone would forget.

This remark was made to Matthew McConaughey, in an effort to show that she has a sense of humor and listens to what her colleagues are saying, even when she’s on the edge of her seat just waiting for them to open that envelope. What happened was that Matt told a light-hearted story about boots and Carrie made a somewhat, very subtle, very innocent, remark about wanting to see his boots. Now I suppose the whole thing has gone so far that she needs to apologize for her comment. From FOXNews,

“Carrie Underwood was overwhelmed to have won “Entertainer of the Year” at the American Country Music Awards on Sunday night, but the moment did turn a little mortifying when she made a sexual reference joke to wanting to see Matthew McConaughey’s “boots” in her acceptance speech.

The Texas-born actor presented Underwood with the big award, but before his official duties he entertained the audience with a story on how he and his brother once took a road trip thru Texas to see Dwight Yoakam perform. While there the brothers tried to “pick up” a few ladies by telling them that they made a livin’ exclusively custom-making George Strait’s boots.

“We’re like, ‘Oh yeah. Say, as I a matter of fact, out in the parking lot, in the trunk of our white Corvette, we have the next year’s new edition white ostrich quill George Strait signed series that he’s gonna wear on tour next year.’ And they got pretty excited about that and said, ‘Well, can we see? Can we see? Can we see?’” McConaughey told the audience. “And we obliged … Point of the story is, we got lucky that night. Thank you, George.”
After taking the trophy from McConaughey, a tearful Underwood caused jaws to drop when she said:

“I don’t know what to say. I got nothin’ … I want to see those boots, Matthew.” (The audience erupted into laughter but somehow we don’t think his leading lady, Camila Alves, was so amused). And clearly, Carrie regretted the spur-of-the-moment sexual advance.

“I’m so embarrassed, I totally embarrassed myself. I just blanked,” Underwood told Tarts backstage, burying her head in her hands. “You want to say something eloquent in a moment like that and I embarrassed myself. I’m sorry Matthew, I’m sorry to my family. I’m totally embarrassed.”

I really hope that this is just a case of Ms. Underwood being a proper Southern belle and making apologies when really none are necessary and that she wasn’t actually forced to give this apology. There’s really nothing to apologize for and she really has no reason to be embarrassed. Don’t worry, Carrie, you’re always eloquent…and stunning….and perfect with Mike Fisher….

Keith Urban Talks about Sunday

April 6th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman

I think out of all the celebrity baby names, Sunday Rose, the name chosen by Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman, is one of the most normal. However, there was still personal meaning behind the name as that day of the week happens to hold special sentimental value to Keith. From Celebrity Baby Scoop,

“The country star tells Ellen DeGeneres that his daughter’s name holds a more personal meaning for him as well.

“Particularly when you don’t have someone in your life… in my experience, Sunday was the loneliest day,” he says in an episode set to air tomorrow. “It went from being sort of the most dreaded day of the week for us to being the most joyous day, because we just had a family.”

Keith, 41, and Nicole are both native Australians, though they now make their home in Nashville. He admits the combination may result in Sunday picking up a rather unique accent.

“I think she may say, ‘Good day, ya’ll.’ A nice mix.”

I don’t really get Sunday being the loneliest day when you don’t have anyone in your life but apparently, it’s true enough for him to name his child after that day. Whatever her name is, she sure is one of the cutest little babies being toted around Hollywood (and Nashville, and Australia.)

Keith Urban was up for two awards last night at the Country Music Awards - Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year - but he lost out to Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, respectively. Keith however was joined by Nicole, who was with him all evening and whom Keith couldn’t take his eyes off of the entire evening! Aw, what a happy little family!

Hilary Duff Joins the Team

February 26th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Hilary Duff, Mike Comrie, Mike Fisher

Hockey benches and celebrity rags have been abuzz for the past few months with the news that Carrie Underwood has been dating Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher. The two are both keeping pretty mum on the subject although Underwood has been spotted cheering her man on at one of his games in her hometown of Nashville. But it seems that Carrie Underwood won’t be the only big name gracing the cheering section for the Senators. She may just find herself sitting next to Hilary Duff, who has recently talked about her relationship with center-man Mike Comrie, who also plays for the Sens. From Gossip Girls,

“Meanwhile, Miss Duff recently chatted about her growing passion for hockey - the sport at which her boyfriend Mike Comrie stars for the New York Islanders.

“I like to sit in the audience, you know I don’t sit up in a box or anything, and people started to know that I’m sitting there, and they’ll be like ‘Mike sucks!’ Or [they] try to rile me up,” Duff told Rachael Ray on an episode airing today. “And I’m like, ‘Hey, watch it! I’ll come up there, you know.’

“The first couple of games I went to, I’m like, ‘These people are nuts,’” Duff tells. “They are, like, so into it. And then, I got really into it once I started learning about the game.”

Comrie actually used to play for the Senators before signing with New York Islanders during his free agency. He was just recently traded back to the Ottawa Senators and if Hilary thought that New Yorkers were crazy about hockey, wait until she sits in some Canadian stands.

What I don’t understand is why am I just finding out about this hookup when Duff and Comrie have been dating since last June? Perhaps because Ottawa is my very favorite team and it caught my attention that she could soon be seen quite often at my team’s rink. It’ll be good to see. I wonder if she and Carrie Underwood will become fast friends or whether this will start some sort of crazy woman feud, since both are sort of famous for that. Either way, the Senators are certainly becoming more and more fun to watch!

Carrie Supports her Man

February 17th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher

Every time I see Carrie Underwood I love her just a little bit more. And, I think that her current boyfriend, Mike Fisher probably does too. These two have been dating for several months now but both have been trying to keep their relationship pretty low-pro. That didn’t stop Carrie from going to see her boy play in Nashville on Monday. Because the Ottawa Senators are the only hockey team that really matters in my humble opinion, I watched this game and they showed Carrie in the private box laughing and cheering on her man. But as soon as she saw herself on the Jumbotron, she quickly made her way to the back of the box to watch the game from a TV, until the attention went back to the game and she came back out. From People,

“Though she’s kept mum since first being romantically linked with Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher last month, Carrie Underwood publicly cheered for her guy when his team took on her hometown Predators in Nashville Monday night.

Sitting in a private box in Nashville’s Sommet Center, Underwood gripped the edge of her seat as he drove the puck to the goal and grimaced and cringed as Fisher was body slammed. At one point, Fisher appeared to look up in her direction and she flashed a smile.

Fisher was credited with an assist, helping his team beat Nashville 2-0, and Underwood – who in the past has appeared at Predators games to root for her home team – clearly battled divided loyalties. The singer tensed up when the Predators appeared close to scoring, but also gamely displayed her “fang fingers” (a gesture mimicking Predator mascot Gnash’s teeth) along with the crowd.

Having a great time, Underwood boogied and sang along to snippets of “Ice, Ice Baby” and “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” played over the loudspeaker. She remained in her box throughout whole game before reportedly joining Fisher in the team’s dressing room.”

*Sigh* I just love these two so-o-o much and I think that Carrie is totally too cute as she cheers for Fisher. What else is there to say about these two except that I love them and I hope that they can bypass all of the scandal and crap that so often sullies the beautiful things that so rarely come up in the celebrity world.

Carrie Underwood Scores with Mike Fisher

January 7th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Michael Phelps, Mike Fisher, Tony Romo

It’s just now being reported that Carrie Underwood is dating Mike Fisher, who is the second line center for the Ottawa Senators but apparently, this relationship has been going on for months and the two are extremely happy together. Aw, this relationship makes me so happy I could cry! One of my favorite singers and a player from my favorite hockey team finding true love…it’s almost too good to be true. But apparently, these two are super serious and even chose to ring in the New Year together. From NY Daily News,

“Country-crooner Carrie Underwood, 25, has a new man in her life. Enter: hockey player Mike Fisher.
The 28-year-old Canadian-born hunk, who plays for the Ottawa Senators, was spotted earlier this year hangin’ around some of the “American Idol” winner’s concerts. But over the holidays, Underwood was caught by the Jumbo Tron at one of his games relaxing with his family in the VIP box.
And New Year’s Eve? Underwood reportedly spent it with Fisher.
“I think it’s serious, I mean he’s really happy with her. They’re a perfect match,” Tony Greco, a fitness trainer and close friend, said.”

I tend to get nervous when anyone talks about how someone, or something such as a relationship is perfect but I have to say, I don’t think I could handpick a couple that would make me happier. Carrie certainly has something for athletes. She had a very serious relationship with football star Tony Romo and she was also linked to Michael Phelps when he was making all those headlines during the Olympics. I do hope that Carrie and Mike find happiness together for a very long time. They look so cute and their kids would be so cute. I wonder what their kids’ names would be…….?

Is Carrie Underwood an Idiot?

November 4th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo

I really love Carrie Underwood and I always thought ‘that would be the day that I would write something about bad about her,’ but some of her more recent public comments really have me wondering if the bright lights have really gotten to her in a not-so-good kind of way. The first interview that got me thinking I read in the Daily Blabber, where she talks about her new feud with Jessica Simpson. Remember when Carrie started talking some time ago about how her ex, Tony Romo, kept calling her? Well apparently, Jess didn’t like Carrie talking that way about her man and got upset. Really?!?! I am not a Jessica Simpson fan by any stretch but really, you have to understand why this would upset her. Apparently Underwood didn’t think that far in advance before she let that story slip from her lips. From the Daily Blabber,

“Carrie says that she’s sorry for making Jessica Simpson mad by telling the world that Jess’ boyfriend/Carrie’s ex Tony Romo still calls the American Idol winner.

“It was something that was said in passing, and I would never mean to say anything to hurt anybody or stir up anything, because I’m just not about drama…at all,” Carrie told the mag.

Jessica reacted by saying that there was no way her man was calling Carrie — and that she had looked at his call log to find out the truth.

And Carrie says she gets why Jess was pissed at her. “I might be mad too if somebody said my boyfriend was calling some other girl,” she said. “So I can definitely see where she would be coming from.”

Now, I’m not going to mention the fact that if you need to look through his call log to get the truth, chances are there are bigger issues. But really, Carrie! How could she be so naive as to think that a statement such as that isn’t going to offend anyone. But she wasn’t going to stop there. She still had a whole slew of celebrities to insult, by stating that she has no respect for anyone who publicly supports a presidential candidate. From US,

Carrie Underwood has a message for Oprah, Diddy, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and even Heidi and Spencer: Don’t publicly back candidates for office.

“There is someone I do support, but I don’t support publicly,” she tells TV Guide, as excerpted by Just Jared. “I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate.

“It’s saying that the American public isn’t smart enough to make their own decisions,” she goes on. “I would never want anybody to vote for anything or anybody just because I told them to.

“Music is where you go to get away from all the BS,” adds Underwood, who recently apologized for saying ex Tony Romo still calls her. “Whether it’s from politics or just the world around you, music should be an escape.”

I don’t think anyone was saying anything about the American public until she brought them into it, to begin with. And I also don’t think that it’s wrong to publicly support one candidate or another or to choose to keep your opinion to yourself. I would much rather someone that I recognize speak from their heart and tell me why they are voting for someone, rather than have a politician reiterate their rehearsed speeches and tell me why they are the best. Whichever way you want to play it, whatever you want to say about politics, I think it’s an area that needs to be respected at all times and saying something such as you have no respect for people who publicly show support really does just seem idiotic to me.
