Ashlee and Pete May Really Be Headed for Splitsville

Just a couple of weeks ago there were stories floating around that Ashlee Simpson might be headed for Splitsville with her new hubby, Pete Wentz. I chalked it up to a slow news week, and the fact that they had a public fight, as married couples sometimes do. But now it seems, there may have been truth to the thinking that this was more than just an argument. And the initial reports that the trouble in Paradise is due to Ashlee’s drinking and partying apparently couldn’t be more wrong. Now, that I’ll believe. Ever since she got married and preggers, Ashlee has really not seemed like the party girl. That may change now that she’ll be out more and working more on the set of Melrose Place but up to this point, I don’t think her wild girl ways can be blamed. And Pete Wentz is a schmuck, I’d just also like to say. From Star via Celebitchy,

“It was Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s worst nightmare come true. While rummaging around in a guest bedroom in her $4.7 million Beverly Hills home on Aug. 19, she discovered what she believed to be evidence of husband Pete Wentz cheating on her, a friend tells Star. Ashlee was so distraught that she dropped off their 9-month-old son, Bronx, at her parents’ house and checked into a hotel, even though Pete was performing with Fall Out Boy in St. Louis that night. “I can’t stand being at that house anymore,” Ashlee, 24. told her pal. “I need to clear my head. I have a lot on my plate, and my marriage is stressing me out.”

But when she called Pete to talk things out, he didn’t answer, which only enraged her. After repeatedly calling him (and getting his voicemail), Ashlee finally reached her husband – and snapped. An insider says she screamed, “Don’t even bother coming hoe! I don’t want to look at you!”

She must have struck a nerve, because that same night, Pete posted on Twitter, “Money doesn’t grow on trees. Neither does happiness,” before referring to himself as an “a–hole.” Four days later, he took a break in the band’s tour and traveled hoe to L.A. Pete Twittered about his excitement to see his son – but made no mention of his wife: “Can’t wait to see the little homie.”

As Star reported, Ashlee has long suspected her husband of getting too close to the young female musical acts he works with, Hey Monday and Millionaires and she can’t take the flirting anymore! “Ashlee doesn’t trust Pete at all,” says an insider. “They fight all the tie and sometimes don’t speak for days. Things have gotten bad. Pete doesn’t want to deal with Ashlee and her drama.”

Pete’s flirting sparked the latest public brawl between him and Ash at the one-year anniversary of his Chicago bar, Angels & Kings, on Aug. 15. Although he hadn’t seen his wife in almost a month and she’d come to town just for the day to support him, Pete, 30, quickly left Ash in the VIP area to hit the DJ booth and party with friends. After an hour and a half, she’d had enough and stormed over to her inebriated husband, says an eyewitness. “Ashlee was fumin. She yelled at Pete, ‘Enough! Let’s go!’”

I once really liked Ashlee Simpson and I stopped liking her a lot more once she married that idiot Wentz. So it wouldn’t kill me to see them break up. But I’m never a fan of families splitting apart either. It sounds like it’s a case of ‘he said/she said’ with Pete’s camp blaming it on Ashlee and vice versa. I think things just happened way too fast for this young couple. There really was a time that they were extremely happy and in love. But when you push something too far too fast, it’s bound to crack under the pressure. And when one of you is a complete schmuck, it’s gonna happen sooner rather than later.

First Candids of Bronx!

Bronx Mowgli Wentz has been spending some time across the pond lately with his parents, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz and some paparazzi managed to snap some pics. Bronx looks so cute, albeit a bit surprised (probably by all those bright lights!) snuggled up against mom, Ashlee’s shoulder. Get used to it, Bronx, for the rest of your life strangers will be taking your picture! Ashlee and Pete posted the first official pic of Baby Bronx on their blog over Christmas to wish fans a happy holiday but these are the first candids. Baby Bronx’s Broken Arm

Baby Bronx, the heir to the throne of Ash Wentzday, is not even 3 months old yet and it seems that he has already suffered a major injury - a broken arm! There are very few details being released just yet and I have only come across this one source so far so who knows if it’s even true but can you imagine if it is? Headlines wouldn’t see that kind of limelight since the days when Britney almost dropped Sean Preston. From Pop Crunch,

“Oh no! The Rumor Mill is ablaze with grumbles that Pete and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s infant son Bronx is being treated for a broken arm.

According to X17Online, Ashlee has cancelled a promotional appearance in Las Vegas due to her son’s injury.”

Hopefully this story isn’t true but if it is, hopefully poor little Bronx will be okay. And hopefully it doesn’t turn into a media frenzy of people questioning Ashlee and Pete’s parenting abilities. The media can be harsh and no young family just starting out needs that.

Jessica’s Michigan Meltdown

Jessica Simpson has been under heavy fire lately, first for the few pounds that she gained and debuted at a radio promotion just a couple of weeks ago and now for having a meltdown during a show in Michigan. During the show, she was opening for Rascall Flatts and kept forgetting the lyrics to her own songs as well as making comments to the audience such as ‘It’s hard to be so vulnerable.’ Unfortunately, her beau Tony Romo wasn’t there to offer his support either as he missed his flight. And he’s probably glad that he did! From Gossip Girls,

“According to Perez Hilton, the “Come on Over” songstress began her night of stress when her boyfriend Tony Romo failed to show up at the Grand Rapids venue due to a missed flight.
Then, during her opening set for Rascal Flatts, she stopped in the middle of several songs after seeming to forget the words. At one point she left the stage to get a sip of water.

Jess revealed her embarrassment with her performance, telling the audience that “it’s difficult to be on stage and be so vulnerable.” By the end of the set she was wiping tears away and thanking the band for having her back.”

Jess is a mess lately and while I would generally think that these types of attention-grabbing antics are just her way of once again being a media whore, I do think there’s something real going on here. I wonder if her relationship with Tony is in trouble or if all those rumors about her being jealous over sister Ashlee’s new ‘Mommy’ status really are true. Whatever it is, Jessica Simpson is not happy and seems to be falling to pieces little by little. It’s unfortunate that the world is here to watch.

Ashlee Says, ‘She’s Not Heavy; She’s my Sister’

The pictures of Jessica Simpson’s performance at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff in Florida over the weekend have been on just about every blog post, newspaper headline, or entertainment and celebrity gossip show ever since they first hit the wires and all kinds of theories have been formed about just how Jessica gained all this weight without anyone noticing and what is all the extra weight from - pregnancy or overeating? Well one person certainly wants to put an end to the speculation and not by giving their own theory but by simply telling us all to shut our mouths. That person is Jessica’s sister, Ashlee, who wrote on her blog,

“I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight,” Ashlee writes on her blog after photos appeared of Jessica, 28, at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff on Sunday in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

Under the headline, “Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy,” Ashlee says: “A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure.”

She adds: “All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.”

I agree and disagree with Ashlee. Firstly yes, there are certainly more important things going on in the world than Jessica’s weight and I do think that headlines like this promote bad body image and promote low self-esteem. I don’t however, think that Jess was born any particular ’shape’, ‘form’, or ’size’, as Ashlee seems to be disdainfully referring to here. We have all seen Jessica at her former weight and it was what, by industry standards, would be ‘normal.’ I’m not agreeing with it or condoning it but it’s a fact that she used to be skinny and now she’s not as skinny. 

I do have my own issues with this story that I consider to be more important than Jessica’s weight. The first is that I don’t think that she is actually overweight but I really do think that she needs to be wearing something else. Yikes - that belt hurts my eyes! Secondly and most saddest I think, is the fact the Jessica Simpson’s career is truly down the toilet. Seriously - she’s performing at a chili cook-off for a radio station!

Staying true to the way these two have always led their personal lives, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz took to their blog over the holidays to not only send season’s greetings to their fans but to also debut the first pics of their newborn son, Bronx Mowgli. This picture along with the following message was posted on the blog (from Bump Shack),

This is one of those things that this couple is famous for doing that really makes you want to like them. And then Pete opens his mouth and it all changes all over again. You can’t get a really good look at Bronx in this pic but he’s a newborn and they all really do look pretty much the same. I do though, love the look on Ashlee’s face, very sweet.

Say It Isn’t So!

It must be difficult to not only be a celebrity but to be a celebrity and also have your sibling be a celebrity must make for one messed up relationship. When Ashlee Simpson first exploded onto the music scene, it seemed as though she was determined to prove that she was nothing like her older sis, Jessica Simpson. She died her hair jet-black and sang songs that were much different than the love ballads her sis was belting out. But now the rumor tables have turned and it’s being said that it’s actually Jess that now wants to be like Ash. In the way that she would also like to get married and have babies. Of course, Jessica and Tony Romo, her serious boyfriend have had their fair share of pregnancy rumors to deal with but the fact that this one is questioning whether Jessica is pregnant but just saying that she wants to be very soon, has me worried that this could in fact, be true. “Jessica recently sat Tony down for a baby talk. Unlike Ashlee, Jessica doesn’t want to get pregnant and then get married. She’s a little more traditional, so she’d like to marry Tony first and then get pregnant, ideally on their honeymoon,” a pal of Jessica’s told Touch Weekly magazine.
“She wants to get engaged in early 2009, married in Texas in the summer and get pregnant soon after,” the pal added.
It has also been reported that Jessica is certain that Tony would propose her over Christmas, reports China Daily.”

It’s never a good idea to get your hopes up about something so huge but it is Jessica Simpson that we’re talking about. This whole pretty picture that she seems to have in her head does seem naive and idiotic but again, it’s Jessica Simpson that we’re talking about. I predict that she will not get engaged over the holidays and that she does not get pregnant any time soon. But that may just be my own wishful thinking. I’m really hoping that Jessica Simpson doesn’t produce spawn. Ever.

I don’t at all like Ashlee Simpson or Pete Wentz but I have to admit, no matter how weird or annoying I think they are, it’s clear that there is something very special about these two and that they are in fact, very much in love. Daily Blabber recently had pieces of an interview that the two had done with E! and there was definitely a lot to talk about now that they are starting to talk about new Baby Bronx. In the interview Pete starts off by being the annoying juvenile that I normally think he is but then he opens up about his new wife, Ashlee and even I have to admit, I can’t help but thinking, ‘aawwww….’ From Daily Blabber,

“New dad Pete Wentz has been gushing about his wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, and all the things about her that he just adores — you know, like her bod.

“I would start with the breasts,” the Fall Out Boy rocker told E!’s Daily 10, about his wife’s best feature.

But, after the typical guy answer, Pete got all mushy about Ash.

“Ashlee is the kind of person that understands me in a way that other human beings don’t understand each other,” he said. “I would say that we fit together kind of like Lego pieces, and that’s how we’re able to communicate.”

“She’s always there for me, she always has my back no matter what,” the guitarist revealed. “If I have to leave at 6 a.m. to go somewhere, she’s packing my bag for me. I’m like, ‘What are you doing up at 6 a.m.?’ and she’s packing my bag.”

I think part of what I like most about this story is that it shows that these two do normal married things, like think about what the other needs while they’ll be traveling. Yeah, these two might just make me like them after all. But it would really help if Pete got a better fashion sense.

Ashlee and Pete FINALLY Had Their Baby!

The news came in early this morning that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz had a beautiful and healthy baby boy late Thursday night. And isn’t it about time? From US,

“Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz have welcomed their first child, a boy.

Bronx Mowgli Wentz - who weighed 7 lbs, 11 oz, and was 20.5 inches long - was born Thursday night, a spokesperson for the couple confirms to Usmagazine.com.

“Proud new parents Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz welcomed new son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, late this evening,” the rep tells Us. “Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!”

Maybe Jess thought that Ashlee sent her unborn child to time-out or told little Baby Bronx to clean up her uterus. Well, I guess now we’ll wait to see who gets the rights to the first baby pictures but knowing the vintage/hippie/rocker types these two are, we’ll most likely see them up on their blog or MySpace page!

Ashlee Simpson’s Baby Watch

Ashlee Simpson has got to be overdue with that baby she’s been carrying around for 9+ months. Like, way, way overdue. This pregnancy just seems to be going on forever! There was talk that Ashlee was going to be induced but that doesn’t seem to be the case as Pete Wentz, her dear husband, recently missed a gig at MTV to be with his preggers wife. Well I guess so! She’s so big now that she probably can’t even make it out of bed! The Gossip Girls caught up with him as he left her for a moment to go catch up on some shopping and they also had words from his bandmate, who was at the MTV event and talked about missing his bandmate. From the Gossip Girls,

“At the MTV Total Finale Live shindig this past Sunday (which Pete missed to be with Simpson) Fall Out Boy vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stump told press, “I’m not spilling anything. As far as I know, there’s no baby yet. But still, there’s a very pregnant woman, so he definitely needs to be there. It was a mutual thing, though I miss the crud out of him. I wish he were here.”

Okay, so I understand that it would suck to not have your whole band present but really, what kind of guy talks about ‘missing the crud’ out of another guy? That’s just weird to me. What’s even weirder though is Pete’s look. I really wish he would ditch the skinny jeans because they just look absurd on him and he just in general has very, very bad fashion sense. And the stone-wash or acid-wash or whatever that is, is NOT back in style…someone should clue him in. I guess that’s what he and Ashlee initially bonded over as she aslo usually trots around in some particularly awful wardrobe choices. Hopefully Ashlee will hurry up and have that baby so that we can stop talking about these two!
