Anne Heche is Expecting…and a Tramp?

December 13th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Anne Heche, James Tupper

I normally wouldn’t couple pregnancy announcements with calling someone names and I really did like Anne Heche before her news of a bun in the oven also rehashed the old news of how, apparently, Anne Heche is a bed-hopper. This is news that I was not aware of before although I did know of her highly-publicized relationship with Ellen DeGeneres (because I don’t live under a rock.) But I guess it was at about the same time that she was with Ellen that she started this trampy habit of hers. From New Chatter,

“Anne Heche and partner James Tupper are excited about their first child. This is the second child for Heche, who has a 6-year old son with ex-husband Coley Laffoon while this would be the first for Tupper. Heche and Tupper first met and fell in love in the set of the television show Men In Trees in 2006 while Heche was still with Laffoon, a cameraman she met while working on her former partner Ellen Degeneres’ documentary. Tupper however said no lines were crossed and while they relied on each other’s shoulders when their marriages were breaking up they came together only after the marriages broke up.”

It’s unfortunate that such happy news is going to be marred with this couple’s scandal of coming together in most minds but I guess that’s what happens when you really do make a habit of jumping from one person’s pants to another. I do hope that the pregnancy goes well and that everyone in the end, is healthy and happy.

Anne Heche Singin the Money Woes

annehech.jpgAnne Heche is flat broke and she’s made a plea to the court that she receive a temporary reprieve from making child support payments. From The Pop Crunch Show,

“The actress was requested and was granted a temporary reprieve in paying her child and spousal support obligations to her ex, Coley Laffoon, and her son, Homer. Anne claims she is on her last leg financially after ABC pulled the plug on her series Men In Trees last week. In a legal declaration to the court, Heche states that since January she has “been unemployed and had no income from employment except for one very short term contract for a movie role for which [she] received a total of $65,000.

And it gets worse. The actress also wrote in her court statement that she has $34,840.93 in “all of her accounts” and that if she continued her support payments of $14,798 per month, she would “have a deficit of more than $6,000 by May 31, 2008.

She also wrote that she has $364,000 of legal, accounting and other personal debt.”

Now, why Anne Heche would be having such trouble paying child supports payments is beyond me. I’m glad we’ve all had a peek into her finances but I think it’s missing the point. If she doesn’t have it, she doesn’t have it but why doesn’t she have it? Lord knows, she has made some money in the past and I don’t see how you can blow through that in six months and then expect not to have to help pay for child expenses.

And I admit, I don’t know many children that need one parent paying almost fifteen grand for monthly expenses but does that mean that Heche shouldn’t pay at all? Why not just take it down to a couple thousand? The final ruling of the court was that Heche would not be held responsible for payments up to July 1 and that on July 2, another hearing would be held to reassess the situation.
