Michael Buble Gets Engaged
For all of those who swoon over crooner Michael Buble, there’s bad news. He too is another one of many Hollywood men that have recently gotten engaged. Buble joined the ranks of recently engaged with other stars such as Mike Fisher, AJ MacLean, and maybe even Jamie Kennedy, when he also chose this past holiday season to get down on one knee and ask his girlfriend, who he’s been dating for a little more than a year, to marry him. And who’s going to say ‘no’ when Michael Buble pops the big question? Star has further details,

The 34-year-old singer popped the question to his Argentinian girlfriend Luisana Lopilato, 22, over the holidays. And with tears of joy she said “yes” as Michael slipped a Tiffany diamond ring on to her finger.“He proposed in Argentina, in front of Lu’s whole family,” a close pal tells Star. “They both cried — they’re ecstatic.”
After she accepted his proposal, Michael whisked his new bride-to-be — whom he met at a concert in Buenos Aries in November 2008 — off to Hawaii, where they stayed in a Maui beachfront mansion owned by friends.
And at a dinner Jan. 1 at Maui’s Spago restaurant, Michael couldn’t contain his excitement over his engagement. “He was introducing Lu to everyone in the restaurant, proudly proclaiming, ‘We’re engaged,’” says the source. “He was so happy to show her off.
“The next day Michael was sad because he had to put Lu on a private plane to Buenos Aires — she stars in an Argentine TV soap opera and she had to be on set. But she’ll be back in Vancouver or Los Angeles with him in a few weeks.”
Vancouver-based Michael, who had a three-year relationship with British actress Emily Blunt (who is now engaged to The Office’s John Krasinski), and Luisana haven’t set a date yet for their nuptials. But, adds the friend: “They’re looking at some time next year.”
Michael’s rep declined to comment on his engagement.”
I’m always kind of torn when it comes to how I feel about Michael Buble. He is a cutie, no doubt. How about in Haven’t Met You Yet when he’s in the grocery store? So cute. And not only did he sing his big breakout hit, Home, beautifully, but he also cowrote it. And I just think that song is so beautiful that I give him props just for that. But there’s just something so blah about him. There’s just not a lot there to hold my interest. Maybe I’d like to see a little more scandal with Michael Buble but I don’t think we’re gonna get it. He seems like one of the genuinely ‘good ones.’

Okay, I have to admit that when I first found out that a former Backstreet Boy had gotten engaged, I couldn’t help but wonder why we are still talking about the Backstreet Boys. Really, didn’t we all listen to them ten years ago? And weren’t we all ashamed then that we listened to them? But whether the world has or has not forgotten about the Backstreet Boys, and they have certainly faded from the top of the music industry, wild child of the group AJ MacLean has not lost touch with his musical roots. And he even incorporated them into his marriage proposal.
