Christina’s Doing Well with Help from Boyfriend

It was just this past summer that Christina Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer and just over 6 months later, she’s back and better than ever! Christina has recently given an interview with People where she talks about the cancer, about having reconstructive breast surgery and of course, the new love of her life that has helped her get through it all. From People,

“She has an “angel” of a boyfriend, Dutch bass player Martyn Lenoble, “who loves me from head to toe.” She has a cozy Malibu beach house that she calls “the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.” And, after a very public battle with breast cancer that has given her a gratifying “feeling of purpose,” Christina Applegate has a new lease on life.

“I used to be really shy but I started to come into my own in my late 20s and early 30s,” Applegate, 37, tells PEOPLE in the cover interview for the annual Most Beautiful issue – her first interview since her reconstructive breast surgery last November. “Now I’m not afraid to speak up in a room full of people and be a part of the conversation.”

The Samantha Who? star says she’s finding balance and embracing her body after undergoing a double mastectomy in July.

“You have to get through the physical transformations then buck up, go to work and try to be the normal, happy Christina for everyone around you,” she says.

One source of strength has been Lenoble. “He’s been a friend for about 13 years,” Applegate says. “Our relationship gets stronger and stronger. I’m really lucky.”

And, more importantly, he makes the actress feel “beautiful” about her new body.

“I’m very grateful to Martyn for coming along at a time that he did because he’s been my rock through all of this,” Applegate says. “He gave me something to really want to live for and something to smile about.”

I have always been a big fan of Christina’s ever since I grew up with her on Married…with Children although she was really the only one on the show that I could tolerate. When she started Samantha Who? I was so excited that she was once again going to become a regular part of my programming and I am now so happy to hear that she is doing so well! She really is an inspiration to women everywhere!

Brangelina’s Tell-All Book

If you are a celebrity, are related to a celebrity, or happen to breathe air around any given celebrity at any particular time, the chances are that you will one day, write a tell-all book about the experience. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are no different except for the fact that they are not the ones writing the book and they are not at all in agreement with the book being written.

The book is actually being written by one of their former bodyguards and goes in-depth about the couple and their personal lives with it seems, a particular focus on the traveling that he’s done with them. Now when I first read this story, I thought, ‘Why don’t celebrities get these people to sign papers before being hired?’ Turns out, they’re actually not that stupid and they did just that. Now it seems, the only defense they have is calling this guy out and making sure everyone knows he’s a ‘pathological liar.’ From New Chatter,

“Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are facing a tough fight with their own bodyguard.

Notorious tough guy Mickey Brett was planning a sensational book and even TV show about his years travelling with the couple, despite reportedly signing confidentiality papers.

But Brad and Angie are already fighting back, with their attorney calling the tough a “pathological liar”.

Brett was already controversial after it emerged the man entrusted to protect Brangelina and their children had once been questioned in a murder, although never tried.

Then, after working for Brad and Angie, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a restaurant owner in Namibia. He was also accused of choking a photographer and arrested for roughing up and making racial insults against some parents who were trying to pick up their kids in India.

But he appeared ready to thrust himself fully in the spotlight with the planned book and TV deal.

But the main focus of the pitches was Brangelina.

Marty Singer, the couple’s American litigator, insisted Brett was not only not a reliable source, he is also a “pathological liar”.

Singer said Brett’s lies to US Immigration officials here had led to his being barred from entering the country. And Singer also insists that only recently did Pitt and Jolie discover that Brett, who had claimed he was a former SAS troop, never even served in the military.

Singer also said that Brett had been convicted 11 times of various crimes.

Brett’s attorneys told us: “Our client disputes what has apparently been said by Mr Singer, but is not in a position to comment further at this stage.”

So now that I know that they had all the proper papers signed so that their personal lives didn’t become public knowledge, my next question is, why was this person ever even hired? Was no background check done at all that would reveal all these crimes or allegations he’s had against him before and would it not be enough to not let him anywhere near you or your children? I don’t know, they’re really playing the victims here and while I think that Brad and Angelina are in the right on this one, I still think they’re playing like victims when really, it seems that it all could have been prevented if they weren’t so stupid. 

Worse case scenario though - The guy writes the book, Brad and Angelina sue him for breech of contract and they win because they rule the world, and the book will never see the light of day. This is going to work out fine for them and they’ll come out once again looking like the innocents that the entire world is trying to plot against.

Seriously?! Chris Brown and Rihanna are Living Together?!

I never know what’s going on Chris Brown and Rihanna. They’re together, they’re not together, he is beating her, he’s not beating her, it’s so hard to keep track. I didn’t even know that they had broken up last time until it was being reported that Chris was dating two different women - Natalie Mejia as well as his old girlfriend from college. Chris’ reps adamantly denied the rumors in each case and now it seems, they may have actually been telling the truth. Chris may have been too busy trying to worm his way back into Rih’s life and of course, it’s been working. Because it’s Rihanna and when it comes to matters of the heart, she clearly has no brain. “According to the Chicago Sun-Times, not only are Chris Brown and Rihanna back together, but the explosive couple are said to be living together. A family friend of Ri’s said that though Chris isn’t officially on the lease, he and his girl, who he had been arrested for beating in February, have had “quite a few nights together.”

Pretty sure she’s out of her mind for taking Chris back? Yeah, well she doesn’t care what we think. The source says that “Rihanna still wants him and has told all of us to ‘get over yourselves. … I’m with him, so deal with it.’” The insider did say, though, that Ri and Chris are going to lay low as a couple for a while.

A rep for Chris had no comment.”

I do think this probably means that the couple is back together however I doubt that Chris has moved in with Rihanna. It sounds like they are a couple who spend time, including sleepovers, at each other’s apartments. Thank God they haven’t officially moved in together yet but I stress yet. This is a relationship that is going to get seemingly better…like paradise, actually…before it comes crashing to a bitter end. I do think it’s best they stay low for awhile. They’re taking a lot of heat for this, both for obvious reasons, and while I don’t think the public will ever get used to the idea of them staying together, I think it’s still way too soon to go very public. And the fact that Rihanna is being so harsh to her fans that are only concerned about her makes it harder and harder to feel sorry for her.

Jamie Spears Gets his Restraining Order

Earlier this month it was reported that Jamie Spears, conservator of his daughter and her estate, applied for a permanent restraining order against Sam Lutfi, the man who sent Britney’s life all to hell. Jamie didn’t get the permanent order that he was after but what he got is pretty good. Sam Lufti has been ordered to stay away from Britney and pretty much the air around her and the air around everything near her or that she owns, for a total of 3 years. I’m sure that after that time another order will be applied for but this works for the time being. Oh, and Lufti’s lawyer seems to think that they have some chance of getting out of it. “BRITNEY SPEARS’ former manager SAM LUTFI has been ordered to stay away from the pop superstar for three years.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva Bobb issued a harsh restraining order against Lutfi and his legal associate Jon Eardley on Tuesday (28Apr09).
Both men must stay at least 100 yards away from Britney, her two sons, and her family members’ homes.
Under the terms of the new order, they cannot contact the singer via phone, mail or email.
Spears’ father Jamie filed the restraining order request in January (09) after learning Lutfi had attempted to contact his daughter over Christmas (08), going so far as to smuggle a cell phone to the singer in a hotel.
Lutfi’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, tells People.com he plans to appeal the order on his client’s behalf, stating, “Never before in history has a restraining order been issued against someone who answered another person’s cries for help.”
Lutfi has filed a lawsuit against the Spears family for defamation and battery.”

I think even if Britney did try and make contact with them asking for help, which I’m pretty sure she didn’t do, it wouldn’t matter. Does Sam’s lawyer not understand that Britney does not have control over her own actions? It was Jamie that applied for the restraining order because it’s Jamie that decides what’s best for Britney. And on another note, does it not ring any alarm bells that someone who has a restraining order against them is absolutely adamant about appealing it? Obviously he’s not through with her and obviously the judge sees that.

Robert and Kristen on Acting and Love

As the filming for the movie New Moon continues, the world is still all abuzz with finding out the latest news and rumors about the cast, mainly Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. And of course they are doing all the promoting that they can (not that they need to) so they have plenty to say as well! Robert has recently given an interview with the UK Independent in which he was quoted as saying,

“[My dad] saw a bunch of pretty girls who were going to it,” Robert explains. “[He] said: ‘Hey Rob, you’ve got to go to that.’ That’s the reason I still do it!”

Well thankfully that’s seemed to have worked out well for him, both with the girls and with his career. I’m not so sure he was thinking about attracting 12 and 13-year-olds though. Well, he’s got me anyway.

Kristen Stewart, Pattinson’s co-star is busy doing other things, such as taking playful walks with her boyfriend. For reasons I’m assuming that are both to blow off some steam and to kill the rumors that she and Robert are dating. Looks like these two are happy, happy, happy and that she’s not looking to leave him for any boy-plays-vampire anytime soon.

Is Mel Brave or Just Stupid?

Mel Gibson really is  one of those people who just doesn’t really care what anyone thinks about anything. If his past actions have proven nothing else, they have proven this. He will say and do as he pleases and who are you to try and stop him? His latest stunt proves this point once again as he swooshes down the red carpet at the premiere of X-Men: Wolverine with his mistress-turned-gold digger, Oksana Grigorieva. This is odd behavior. Generally when one is at fault for destroying their marriage, they lay low for awhile and let the buzz die down before showing up arm-in-arm as the happy couple. I guess Mel must really be pissed about the half billion dollars his ex-wife Robyn is about to make out with. This is quite the slap in the face.

And can I just say that this is one of the creepiest-looking pictures I have ever seen. What she can possibly see in dried-up, grey-haired, sick to the core Mel, other than dollar signs, I have no idea. But I don’t know that there’s any amount of money that could get me to hold that man’s hand as we stroll among the paps who are just waiting to get pictures of me, his mistress. Casey Aldridge Doing Well After Car Crash

On Sunday Casey Aldridge, the father of Jamie Lynn Spears’ baby daughter, Maddie,was rushed to the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a fractured skull after he crashed his car with 3 other passengers in it. It sounds like everyone’s going to be okay and while Casey is still in the hospital under observation, it doesn’t sound as though there will be any permanent damage. Casey was coming home from a bachelor party and so I suspect that he had alcohol in his system, not that I’m quoting that as fact at this point, it’s just purely suspicion on my part. So far there has been talk of possible charges but nothing official has been announced. From Pop Crunch,

“Jamie Lynn Spears’ boyfriend has been removed from the intensive care unit of a Mississippi hospital, where he has been treated since a serious car crash on Sunday.

Casey Aldridge - the father of the former child star’s 10-month-old daughter Maddie –was charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle after he crashed his 2008 Ford F-250 after his cousin’s bachelor party.

Casey, 19, and three of the passengers were thrown from the vehicle after Casey lost control. A fourth passenger — who was not ejected — was the only person in the truck who was wearing a seatbelt.

Casey was rushed to the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a fractured skull.

Despite early worries that Casey may have suffered brain damage, his uncle Odus Jackson has revealed that he is alert and doing well.

“There was just a little swelling, but he’s alert. They’re keeping him under precaution for a couple of days to make sure that no bleeding starts, but at the moment he’s resting well and doing well…”

“He’s been talking, and they were keeping him awake as much as possible. It looks like he’s probably over the danger. I think they are about to keep him under observation for about three days. Doctors are telling him that he should recover to full normalcy. It’ll just take time for it all to heal up - the brain.”

So when I first saw the original headline telling how Jamie Lynn Spears’ boyfriend, Casey Aldridge was in a car crash, I thought, “Wait. Boyfriend? Are they back together? When did this happen?” So, who has answers for me. Who knows and I don’t think it really matters. These are going two people who are quickly going to become two of Hollywood’s almost-unknowns. Jamie Lynn is going to go back to being Britney Spears’ little sister and Casey’s going to go back to just being her baby daddy. So what they’re doing in their personal lives will be of no concern to us.

Doug and Paris Get Into Another Club Brawl

When Paris first started dating Dough Reinhardt I wondered what kind of girl Paris would turn into. She’s been anything from a porn star to a proper princess, depending on the guy she was with and since she clearly doesn’t have her own true identity, I was waiting to see Doug’s emerge. Once it turned out that he also wasn’t too bright, things didn’t bode well for Paris in my eyes. And not only is he stupid, but the dude also likes to fight. So not cool. Apparently though Paris is fine with it because her new style is, ‘I like to dress up like a hooker from the 80s and watch my boyfriend beat the crap out of people.’ Wonderful. Add it to all of Paris’ other not-so-good looks. From US,

“Paris Hilton’s boyfriend Doug Reinhardt got into a fight with a man who tried to grope the heiress at a Los Angeles club Monday.

The two were dancing at H-Wood when an intoxicated male clubgoer approached Hilton and tried to touch her cleavage, a witness tells Usmagazine.com.

“Doug protected his lady and pushed the guy,” adds another source. “That’s when all of Doug’s boys stepped in and beat the crap out of the guy. Then Doug had security kick him out of the club.”

Fellow clubgoers Jessica Alba and Cash Warren - who were dancing alongside Hilton and Reinhardt - were shocked.

“Alba and Cash looked at one another and “were like ‘wow,’” says an onlooker.

(Despite several witnesses, Reinhardt’s rep tells Us, “Doug was not involved in a fight last night.”)

Hilton and Reinhardt didn’t seem bothered by the brawl. They mingled with Brody Jenner around 1:20 a.m. before calling it a night shortly after 2 a.m.”

These two really bother me. Paris really bothers me. This is actually a pretty tame version of the story, and most likely the true one. I’ve read that the fight got so out of hand that Doug was beating and punching people while Paris danced on the tables to her own song. Can you imagine?!? Paris shakin her groove thang while Dear Dougy defends her honor! I think that part of the story was most likely an embellishment but man, is it every fun to picture! Please. I’m so over these two.

Sarah Jessica and Matthew Broderick to Have Twins!

I never really thought that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were getting divorce. I did think that their marriage was on shaky grounds and that SJP was going through a pretty miserable time. I also thought all of this galavanting about the town arm in arm like the happy couple was a load of bull but if it was all a facade, they have taken it to a new level. The two, who are already parents to James Wilkie who is 6, are about to have twin girls, born via a surrogate. From Gossip Girls,

“Ready to add to their family, Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick are set to become parents again - to surrogate baby twins!

The couple are expecting twin daughters - being their second and third children, as they have a six-year-old son named James Wilkie.

Making the announcement earlier today (April 28), SJP and Matthew said that they weree “happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed.

Let me tell you I’m so happy that they chose to go through a surrogate. Not only because I have both considered using one myself and being one but also because had it not been for this additional piece of information, I may only to just be able to stand gape-mouthed and wondering what kind of virtual reality I had just entered. This news come less than a year after Matthew’s reported affair last summer, which seems really soon to me to be having children. Could the reports of the affair really been false? Maybe Matthew was just seen speaking to this woman who was to incubate his children for 9 months? Who knows really but this does tempt me to believe it was all really just rumor in the first place. 

Whatever the case, they are obviously in a very good place now as they prepare for the arrival of their twin girls. Congratulations Sarah Jessica and Matthew, and James Wilkie too!

Are you a Jamie Fan or a Gerard Fan?

Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler are filming a movie together that’s called Law Abiding Citizen and apparently, all does not go well between the two actors on the set. The two seem to be in some sort of juvenile pissing competition over the ladies and Jamie likes to go to Vegas, which is also complicating things. It all sounds really stupid and the fact that these two grown men have even taken to creating childish nicknames for each other just makes it all that much worse. Then again, I should have prefaced this all by saying that it was Star Magazine that originally reported the story. While Star has certainly turned accuracy into print before, they have also had their share of things that were slightly *ahem* off the mark. So you might still be able to like them both. Phew. From Star,

“Hollywood catfights aren’t just between the ladies! Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler have been going at it on the set of Law Abiding Citizen. An insider tells Star, “Jamie is jealous of the female attention Gerard gets. And Gerard is annoyed that Jamie’s always jetting off to Vegas to party.”

The Dueling duo even have pet names for each other: Gerard calls Jamie “The Fool”, and he’s known as “Ger-tard!”

“It’s like high school on this set!” says the source. Boys will be boys!”

Personally, I like them both the same so I can step out of line for the cat-fight I guess. I think they’re both okay actors and I think they’re both okay-looking. As for when or why Jamie goes to Vegas, I think if it’s a problem that’s interfering with the movie, it’s for the director to handle.
