No Complex Here!

You know how they say first born children can sometimes get a complex when a new baby arrives - they’re used to getting special, focused attention and then BAM! a new little person is on the scene. Well, Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani are apparently determined to make sure this DOESN’T happen with their oldest, Kingston.

While Zuma is still sitting out on the family play dates, Kingston kept the adorable factor high, playing hide-and-seek with his parents. They kicked the weekend off with a trip to the Feast of San Gennaro on Friday. On Saturday the family was with Gavin leaving the Beverly Center. Kingston may still be getting used to his little brother, but it looks that his parents are still doing a great job of giving him some extra special attention.

Jen Bump Watch

Jen Garner is getting bigger and bigger as her due date surely looms closer and closer and she was seen spotted out and about this past weekend grabbing some of that wholesome goodness that she’s become known for. It’s nice to see her laid-back in a cute, baggy prego tshirt and jeans with casual white sneakers on! It’s always reassuring to see that sometimes, the stars just want to be comfy too! I wonder if she and  hubby Ben Affleck have found out if they are getting another pink bundle or a blue one this time. Won’t be long now anyway before we all find out and in the meantime, we’ll have fun keeping an eye on that bump of hers! Thanks to Gossip Girls for the pic!

It’s Clear Who Wears the Pants Here

I absolutely love Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi as a couple and I am so happy for these newlyweds!! But I can’t help but poke a little bit of fun at the fact that it’s so CLEARLY Ellen that wears the pants in this relationship - as literally as well as figuratively! She wore a beautiful white pant suit on their wedding day and now, Portia is going to be taking her name, as the wife traditionally does with the groom’s name. From Pop Crunch,

“Portia de Rossi is about to become Portia DeGeneres. The former Arrested Development star, who wed Emmy-winning talk show hostess Ellen DeGeneres in ceremony in Los Angeles on August 16, will legally take her wife’s name later this year.

The newlyweds have already purchased stationary engraved with “Mr. and Mrs. DeGeneres from Tiffany & Co. in Beverly Hills,” a Star Magazine source has revealed.”

It’s handy that the “de” appears in both names. It flows a little more and makes it sound less awkward. All joking aside though, it’s clear that these two are truly in love as Ellen was recently quoted in the Associated Press as saying,

“My heart just feels a little bit different, softer and somehow more in love. I don’t know how. But it just feels really romantic and lovely. I just feel really blessed.”

Oh heck, I’ll say it again - I’m so happy for these two!!! And as much as I love the oh-so-funny Ellen, it is nice to see a side to her that is a bit softer and to see her with her head all caught in the clouds.

It’s Not a Party ’til Janet Gets Puked On

Janet Jackson was recently in the news saying that it would be awhile before she and boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri had kids and that it was she that was holding things up. Well it seems that Jermaine may need to wait even longer before hearing the pitter-patter of little feet as he recently had a bit too much fun celebrating his 36th birthday. Meeting with a few close friends, including Ice-T and Busta Rhymes, in a funky New York nightclub, the group helped Jermaine ring in another year by downing champagne and tequila all night. And then…things took a turn for the worst. From Celebrity Dirty Laundry,

“However, the large quantities of alcohol are said to have proved too much for Jermaine. A source told the New York Post newspaper:”Jermaine was doing really well, but then he looked a bit funny. He leaned over and vomited in Janet’s lap. Janet squealed before bolting out of the scene and speeding off in her chauffeured Maybach car.”

Yeah, I have no doubt that Janet was out of there as soon as possible!! That’s one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever heard!

Dennis Quaid Has a Few Words for Meg Ryan

And they’re not nice words. Meg  Has apparently been speaking out to InStyle magazine about their marriage, what went wrong, and how they ended up divorced.  Meg mentioned how she wasn’t the “only one” who cheated - hashing up the dealings of their bitter split even though it’s been years since it happened.

This time, Dennis Quaid isn’t letting Meg’s latest rant go without commenting on it. Dennis tells Rush & Molly: “It was eight years ago, and I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship. Also, I find it regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce. I, myself, moved on years ago and am fortunate to have a happy, beautiful family.”

Apparently Meg isn’t having the same luck moving on.

Meg and Dennis’ Very Public Battle

Dennis Quaid is furious over comments his ex-wife, Meg Ryan made in a recent interview with In Style. Meg talked about how Dennis had cheated on her for a very long time and there was a lot she didn’t know until her marriage was over. Dennis thinks that it’s time to put the dirty laundry in the wash and forget about it - what’s done is done and reliving it is only hurting their son. Apparently. From Pop Crunch,

“Dennis Quaid is firing back at comments ex-wife Meg Ryan made regarding their 2000 divorce in the October issue of In Style. Dennis is livid over Meg’s allegations that he was not faithful to her “for a very long time.”

“It was eight years ago,” he tells the New York Daily News. “I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship.”

Dennis says it is “regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce.”

One, let’s keep the children out of it, shall we? Whatever pain that child is feeling, he will feel it for the rest of his life and whether or not it’s talked about, it’s damaging. So let’s not even mention his name because that’s not helping matters. Two, Meg Ryan herself had an affair. It was with Russell Crowe while they were filming the movie Burden of Proof and it’s actually THAT affair that ended their marriage. Why it ended their marriage I’m not quite certain - was it because Quaid couldn’t forgive her or because Meg was so in love with Crowe that she couldn’t not be with him? If it’s the first reason, that makes Quaid not only a cheater but a hypocrite as well. And my third point is, if Meg cheated too then why is she rehashing everything in public? I really like her but I don’t understand her thinking on this one. Not to mention the fact that what happens to people, happens to people and if they want to talk about it, that’s their perogative. Just because you were the one to do the hurting in the story, doesn’t mean that they don’t have a right to say what they want about it.

Ryan and Scarlett Got Married!!!

Yes ladies, I’m so sorry to say that Ryan Reynolds, the hottie who has played in Van Wilder, among many other funny and fabulous movies, has officially been taken off the market. He and his new bride, Scarlett Johansson tied the knot in Ryan’s native land of Canada this past weekend. From Bump Shack,

“Actors Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds secretly wed this weekend in tropical Canada according to Meredith O’Sullivan (Reynold’s Rep).
Attended by only a handful of close friends and family, the ceremony was held at a remote wilderness retreat outside of Vancouver, B.C.”

This is the first marriage for both. The couple had announced their engagement in May.

This is coming as a shock to everyone not only because it happened in such a spontaneous manner but because the two have only been dating since February 2007 which in itself may not seem like a huge deal but this was Ryan’s rebound relationship from Alanis Morissette, who he was engaged to at one point, with that ending in broken hearts all around. For anyone who’s an Alanis fan as I am, it’s rumored that she pours her heart out about the breakup on her new album, Flavors of Entanglement. I do hope that this marriage works out for Ryan and Scarlett. They are a very cute couple and although Scarlett has never been involved in a relationship as heavy as Ryan’s, I’m sure she’s had her share of broken hearts as well. It would just be nice to see something in Hollywood work out for once. Congratulations, Ryan and Scarlett! We wish you all the best!

Ronnie Wood May Pay through the Nose

Guitarist Ronnie Wood, for the massive band Rolling Stones may be paying through the nose after thinking with his pants. Apparently Ronnie just couldn’t stay away from his mistress friend, 20 year old Ekaterina Ivanova and when Jo Wood, his wife found out that he was seeing the woman continually, she decided that it was time to end the marriage. But there are no bitter feelings here. Jo realizes that she’s spent most of her life with this man and she really wants to remain friends with him once they’re divorce has been settled. Oh yeah, and she’s asking for 50 million pounds. Yes, that’s just over 100 million dollars American!! HA!! From Telegraph UK,

“The rock star faces a possible £50 million divorce settlement after Jo allegedly contacted her lawyers because of his continuing relationship with a 20-year-old Russian.

Wood, 61, was recently photographed enjoying a romantic meal with Ekaterina Ivanova at a fashionable London restaurant.

His wife now reportedly just wants to be friends with him rather than married.

Speaking at the Berkeley Square Ball, she told The Daily Mail: “We’ve been through too much together not to stay as friends whatever happens next.

“I’m still in touch with him and I’ve seen him And despite everything I still really care for Ronnie.”

She added: “Everything is fine, and everything is going to be fine.

“The thing is, I spent so many years concentrating on Ronnie, dressing Ronnie, and looking after Ronnie, that suddenly I can now concentrate on me. So for example I have been dressing differently recently.”

Okay, I’m highly doubting that the courts will grant her 50 million pounds. That’s just crazy kind of money. And if Heather Mills only got 50 mill, what’re the chances that Jo Wood will do any better? Mills was married to a knight for cryin out loud, not to mention one of the most famous musicians to ever walk our planet. I realize the Stones were big too but I don’t think the guitarist is bigger than McCartney and I don’t think that band was bigger than the Beatles. Good luck, Jo. I think you’ll be disappointed on this one, though.

10 Million Dollar Baby may be Denied

Apparently, the insurance policy that Heath Ledger used to cover his life insurance stated that his daughter, Matilda, was to receive ten million dollars upon turning of proper age and until that time, it was to be given to someone else to be held in trust. Well it doesn’t really matter how much it is or who was supposed to get it because no one may ever be seeing that money. It turns out that nine - yes nine - months after his death, the fabulous folks over at ReliaStar Life Insurance are now claiming that they suspect that Ledger’s death may have been suicide, which would clear them of all responsibility to pay out the policy. “The New York City Medical Examiner ruled he died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, but executives at ReliaStar Life Insurance Company are investigating the possibility Ledger took his own life.
The firm, which is owned by ING Americas, wrote the policy in June 2007, and the insurance money was due to be paid out to an unnamed trustee who would hold the money until two-year-old Matilda comes of age.
But they have so far failed to honour the document and have launched their own probe into Ledger’s death to establish if he committed suicide, therefore voiding the policy.”

So now there is a heated battle going on between the trustees of Ledger’s estate and the insurance company so you have to know that this is something that is going to take years and years. May not be a bad thing if all works out in the end because little Matilda is only two and doesn’t get the money until she’s 18 so there’s a whole 16 years to work this out. However, it’s disgusting that this is clearly not a case of suicide and that insurance companies are going to put the entire family through that again. First the rumors about Michelle Williams having problems with the family over Heath’s will and now this. His death wasn’t tragic enough that people need to try and find something in nothing to save themselves from paying the hefty sum - that of which is going to his daughter! It’s disgusting!!

Were Scarlett and Ryan Even Dating?!

I must have my head in the sand. I just realized that Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were dating, now it seems like they’ve already up and gotten married! Apparently they got engaged in May, but didn’t have any plans to “rush” into things.

We’re just enjoying our time,” the actress said last month. “We’re just recently — very recently — engaged. So, you know, we’re just taking it easy. And no big plan yet. But it’s a good time and we’re just … enjoying our time to be young and engaged.

“I mean, I’m 23. There’s no reason to rush into it. Everything feels very natural and relaxed.”

The couple married this weekend in Canada, according to publicist Meredith O’Sullivan.

Guests included Scarlett’s mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson, the magazine said.

Johansson most recently starred in the Woody Allen film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” Reynolds starred on the TV show “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place” and the romantic comedy “Definitely, Maybe.”
