Is it true? Are Ben and Jen in Trouble?

So I saw this story last week that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were breaking up. After a brief moment of panic and skimming the article, it turns out that it was by a reporter that was discredited and the entire story was ripped to shreds. Breathing a small sigh of relief while at the same time being enraged anyone could make such things up, I moved on. Then I see it again today, pretty much the same story but now word is spreading and I can’t help but wonder if the rumors are true. This is what ran in Daily Blabber,

“The usually very reliable Ted Casablanca broke my heart a little last week, when he speculated that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were heading for a split. And, because Bennifer are hardly ever photographed together, it’s difficult for us to monitor the state of their union. But Jen’s rep quickly squashed the breakup talk, telling UsMagazine.com that they story was completely fabricated.

“There is not one ounce of truth to it,” the rep said.

Concurring with the denials, Ben told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that all is well at home.

“We’re very happy,” the Ben of Ben & Jen said. “Things couldn’t be better. We’re kind of taking it easy and just kind of enjoying a little downtime at home.”

I truly hope that what Ben says is the truth. They truly are a power couple and while I like Ben, I’m not a huge fan. But I love, love, love Jennifer Garner! It does have me a tad worried but this may just be a case of someone wanting to do a story on them and not having anything to write because they are such a truly normal, awesome couple!

Minnie Driver Makes an Appearance

So just because Minnie Driver has been so secretive and elusive since announcing her pregnancy several months ago, I thought I’d show some pics of a very-pregnant Minnie. And she’s just so fabulous bump or no bump that it’s nice to catch a glimpse! Although she still refuses to give up who the father is, she does want him to play the important role of Dad. “Minnie Driver says the father of her unborn baby will play a big part in their child’s upbringing.

The ‘Good Will Hunting’ actress - who has so far refused to reveal the identity of the child’s dad - insists the mystery man will be involved in all the important parental decisions.

She said: “I’m just unorthodox. I’m taking full responsibility for being a mother but he will still play some part. I’m not married and I’m not getting married to this person. So I don’t know what’s going to happen. I sort of just take it moment by moment. Everyone’s grown up, everyone is cool. You just want to create as happy and loving an environment as you can.”

Minnie - who is due to give birth in August - recently joked she was having a baby with the Easter Bunny.

She quipped: “The Easter Bunny’s the father. I’ve never had sex!”

I can’t wait until she has that baby but I don’t count on seeing pictures any time within the first year at least. As much as I would love to see more pictures, it’s nice to see a star that’s not making a point of visiting all the high-traffic paparazzi places just to get her photo taken.

Phillippe is Moving On - Officially

Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish made their first public appearance together this weekend at the Australians in Film 2008 “Breakthrough Awards” in LA. The couple had been laying low since last fall, when it was first suspected they were an item.

Ryan escorted his honored lady to the event, and according to some attendees, there was plenty of handholding and PDA for all to see. Since Reese has very clearly moved on with Jake, guess it’s about time that Ryan makes it official he has found someone too — and it was probably wise for them to lay low for a while, considering Abbie can be “credited” with breaking up one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal Make a Big Move

Yep, Reese and Jake are shackin up! Reese, who has won an Oscar for her role in Walk the Line started dating the Brokeback Mountain star last spring and although the two tried very hard for a long to keep their romance quiet, they can no longer keep their love under wraps as Jake has already moved in to Reese’s humble abode. From the Daily Blabber,

“According to the new issue of Us Weekly, cutie lovebirds Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are have shacked up! The mag says that Jakey boy has moved his stuff into Reese’s place in L.A. and is already playing step-daddy to her and ex, Ryan Phillippe’s kids, Ava and Deacon.

“Marriage is definitely what they are working toward,” a source close to the actress said of the Rendition co-stars, who have been dating for over a year.

“They literally don’t want to spend any time away from each other,” another one of Reese’s pal said.”

These two have seemed to have a perfect relationship so far and appear to be completely ga-ga over each other. I’m so happy that Reese’s ship may have finally come in after being screwed over by her cheating ex-husband, Ryan Phillipe. The two were friends for quite some time before filming Rendition together, where they fell in love.

It’s Nice When Multimillionaires Find Each Other

On Saturday, reps for Uma Thurman confirmed that she was engaged to her boyfriend of one year, Arpad Busson. Uma is mostly known for her role as Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction and she has also starred in Kill Bill and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Arki, as he’s known to friends, is a financial expert. From People,

“I can confirm she is engaged,” Stephen Huvane said on Friday. New York’s Daily News was first to report the engagement.

On Saturday, the couple themselves made the announcement, on page 75 of London’s The Times.

Under the heading “Mr A. Busson and Miss U. Thurman,” it reads, “The engagement is announced between Arpad, son of Mr Pascal Busson, of Paris, and Mrs Florence Harcourt-Smith, of South of France, and Uma, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert A. F. Thurman of New York.”

In return for saying yes, the actress received some serious sparkle: an 8-plus carat center stone surrounded by 20 smaller stones. “It’s the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen,” says a close source of the diamond ring. “Arki did a wonderful job.”

Well and with all that money you would hope so. I guess the next order of business is a prenup. Not only do these two both have scads of money but they have also both proven that they may not be experts in the relationship department. Uma is hoping that the third time’s the charm as she has been married to Gary Oldman, which ended in 1992 and she then married Ethan Hawke. Four years and two children later, that marriage also ended in heartache. Oldman has never been married but did have two children with his longtime girlfriend Elle Macpherson.

Denise Richards Ships Her Kids Off to Therapy

You really have to hand it to Denise Richards. Instead of trying to have a somewhat civil divorce from ex-hubby Charlie Sheen, she slanders him in public, throws horrible accusations at him, lies, and is just plain mean. Then, thinking that maybe it’s having some ill repercussions on their two daughters, Sam who’s four and Lola who’s three, she sends them to therapy. Yep! Therapy! From Celebedge,

“It’s very sad that they need to be there, but they do for now,” Denise tells In Touch. “On the other hand, it’s good they have an outlet to deal with their feelings and someone who is just their advocate.” Denise’s outlet for her feelings, apparently, is In Touch magazine.”

Hey, here’s a thought. Why don’t you talk to your kids? Even better, why don’t you stop dragging out your horrible divorce for all the world to see and trying to think of the worst possible things to say about each other? Honestly, how much benefit are young kids going to get out of talking to a shrink? I know that with all their money they probably hired a pediatrics shrink but the case still stands. Denise Richards is proving to the world once again that she doesn’t have a clue about anything - especially parenting!

Are Eva Longoria and Tony Parker in the Same Court?

Ever since Eva Longoria has gushed about how much she wants to have all of those babies her and hubby Tony Parker have been dodging pregnancy rumors and trying to make sure that her svelt figure is shown in pictures so that a big purse is not mistaken for a pregnancy bump. This is what happened the last time fuel was added to the fire. Tony Parker has recently denied all claims that the two are about to be parents and while this seems like halfway interesting news at best, Tony makes a statement that has me raising my eyebrows. “Despite the constant array of pregnancy rumors, basketball player Tony Parker insists that his actress wife Eva Longoria is not in the family way.

“She’s not pregnant now if that’s your question. I’m not thinking like that right now.”

He’s not thinking like that right now? Does he know she is? I thought that was something that two people discussed before taking the big plunge. I love, love, love these two together and they don’t seem like the drama-seeking types. Hopefully, this was just an off-the-cuff remark that wasn’t meant the way it seems to sound. But it definitely does sound as though on the baby issue Tony is “No, no, no!” while Eva is “Yes, yes, yes!”

Uma Engaged to Elle’s Baby Daddy

Uma may have made quite a name for herself playing a bride in Kill Bill, but now she’s taking that role personally - minus all the sword wielding and bloodshed, of course! Her fiance - financier Arpad (Arki) Busson has two children with supermodel Elle Macpherson.

Issues of step-children aside, Thurman showed off the ring last  night at Elton John’s British manor house, where he’s throwing his 10th White Tie and Tiara benefit.

The couple hit it off last year at a dinner in Milan - but c’mon, if your first date is in Italy, how could you NOT hit it off?! Although at that point Uma was coming off a three-year relationship with hotelier Andre Balazs, not to mention still feeling the repercussions of her divorce from cheating husband Ethan Hawke.

Needless to say, we hope this will be a happy marriage for someone who’s had her share of bad relationships.

Could Madge Soon be Single?!

I know celebrity relationships are just like any other relationship in terms of what it takes to make them work - the basic pillars of any relationship like trust, honesty, loyalty, etc. So why do we care so much when we hear the news that one of your favorite star couples might be breaking up? The most recent case in point - Madonna and Guy Ritchie. British paper “The Mirror” is reporting to have a world exclusive that the pop star has asked her director husband for a divorce. Madonna’s spokeswoman had no official comment, so there’s no confirmation from the couple yet, so there still could be hope

But if you add this latest world exclusive to the reports that Madonna hired Paul McCartney’s divorce lawyer, it looks like the couple might make an official announcement soon.

In the 21st century we have an obsession with our celebs, we know about their lives and feel like we know THEM - so maybe that’s why the surprise hits home when we get news that all is NOT well on the home front.

Will Smith Now Searching for Aliens Through Scientology

It seems that Tom Cruise may be making the rounds in Tinseltown trying to get his friends to convert to his fave religion, Scientology. Although Will Smith, Tom’s buddy-boy has always denied that he has anything to do with the religion, it seems that he is becoming quite a proponent of the bizarre and secretive beliefs. From The Pop Crunch Show,

“Life & Style spies claim Will was chatting up the unorthodox religion to anyone who would listen on the set of his new film, Hancock, opening July 4th.

“He gave out Scientology-like pamphlets at the end of the shoot,” says biographer Andrew Morton, who published an unauthorized biography on Kooky Cruise last Winter.

“It’s also been said that he and Jada are homeschooling their children in Scientology methods,” Morton insists.

Will and Jada are also rumored to be financing the New Village Academy, a Scientology-associated school to open in Calabasas, California this Fall.”

While I don’t care what the Cruise’s want to do with their life, the news about Will Smith is quite upsetting. He just seems so normal and Scientology just…doesn’t. I know that Tom is big on the idea of people reading about it first before they make judgements but I don’t like the idea of a religion that makes you pay to learn about them. And the Smith’s are bringing their children into it too! Oh no, no. This is not good news at all.
