Back on the Market

Say hello to Hollywood’s newest, most eligible single man: George Clooney. He and his girlfriend, Sarah Larson called it quits after dating for the past year.

“George is relieved to be single again,” says an insider. “He thinks Sarah is sweet and that is why it was so hard to break up with her. The truth is they had little in common and he just doesn’t want to be tied down. ”

Clooney and the 29-year-old former cocktail waitress girlfriend first met in Las Vegas at the Whiskey Bar about four years ago - but it wasn’t until June of 2007 that the two actually began dating seriously.

I kind of love George’s face in this picture - but not as much as I love the fact that they’re standing in front of  a Baja Fresh. Even famous people love them some Cal-Mex!

Weird and Wacky News of the Day

May 30th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Clay Aiken

clay.jpg

The bizarre announcement has been made that Clay Aiken is going to be a father. That’s correct. It seems to me that when it comes to Clay Aiken, everything becomes just a little bit backward. Maybe placing second in American Idol did something to him but the dude just seems off to me. From TMZ,

“Multiple sources tell us the mother is Jaymes Foster, a record producer and Clay’s best friend. He lives at her home when he’s in L.A.

We’re told 50-year-old Foster, who produced several Aiken CDs, is due in August. She’s the sister of record mogul David Foster. She divorced a few years back and has no kids. Aiken is 29.

We’re told Foster was artificially inseminated. But Clay is a lot more than sperm — we’re told he will have an active role in raising the child.”

All of this just seems very weird to me. I mean, she’s twenty years older than him and it doesn’t sound like there’s a blossoming romance behind this, it’s simply an older woman wanting to become pregnant and asking her “best friend” to help her out with it. Maybe it’s the fact that she’s so much older and maybe it’s the fact that in the story, it seems that Clay is almost an afterthought, although they may say otherwise. Yep, just like all other news surrounding this father-to-be, it’s just plain weird.

Ashlee and Pete’s Baby Confirmed!

May 29th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz

ashlee3.jpgI think I may be starting to understand Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz a little better and that’s a scary thought. By way of their blog (how else would a modern couple do it?) they have announced that Ashlee is in fact pregnant. From Daily Blabber, this is what appeared on the blog,

“While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child. This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family.”

So now I understand why they waited to tell people and - DUH - on me for not even thinking that they may want to wait the standard amount of time before blabbing their big news. So okay, I don’t think that they are total neurotics who would use anything as a publicity stunt. Well, not in this case of theirs anyway.

This Week’s Break-Up News

While many babies are being born in Hollywood this week and many couple’s are announcing pregnancies, Tinseltown still has its fair share of heartache. Here are this week’s most surprising, most predictable, and most talked about break-ups of our favorite stars this week!

clooney.jpgThe most talked-about break-up news is probably that of George Clooney and Sarah Larson. Many people have wondered about these two from the get-go and now after dating for almost a year, they have officially broken up. Nobody’s saying much on the subject so far but from the sounds of things, he’s the one that ended it with her.

Last September Dylan McDermott announced that he and his wife, Shiva Rose were separating. Now plans for his divorce have been announced and the most surprising element of this story is that McDermott is preparing to represent himself. It seems that his 7 years on The Practice has really gotten to him.

Bill Murray is also getting a divorce from his wife, Jennifer. This is serious business as apparently Murray scares his wife so badly that she needs to have a restraining order placed against him. She claims that the order is needed because of his horrible abuse and addiction to drugs and alcohol. If it’s true, it really is surprising and I would have never expected that from him. Hopefully the accusations will prove to be false on this one and I will still be able to laugh at his jokes.

In the latest Shania Twain divorce news, the rumors that Shania’s husband Robert Lange was allegedly having an affair with one of her best friends are just not true. Well, this according to the cheating dirtball and the homewrecker themselves. You can decide for yourself whether or not you believe it.

And still recovering from her recent divorce from Royston Langdon, Liv Tyler is planning on packing up their son Milo and moving him to the country. Obviously Liv is heartbroken and searching for a simpler life.

Bill Murray Served With Divorce Papers

May 29th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Bill Murray, Uncategorized

Life’s not all fun and games, even for a comedian. Bill Murray’s wife of 11 years - a seeming record by Hollywood standards - recently handed him divorce papers that claim - among other things - abusive behavior, drug and alcohol addition, and frequent abandonment.

With allegations like this, it’s only a matter of time before things start to get messy. It’s hard to believe that someone as passionate about his work would let his home life go without a fight.

Not that formal releases mean much, but Bill Murray’s lawyer did say the actor is deeply saddened by the breakup and is committed to the best interests of the couple’s four children. Maybe he’ll give his wife what she wants?

Madonna’s Son Officially Adopted

May 28th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Guy Ritchie, Madonna, Oprah Winfrey

madonna.jpgIt became official today that Madonna has now legally adopted her son, David Banda. The singer took Banda into her home in 2006 with the intention of adopting him but it is only now that the process has finished. From US,

“Banda’s biological father Yohane told Usmagazine.com exclusively: “I am glad this is over now. I am happy for David.”

“I gave Madonna 100% rights for my son,” Yohane said. “He is her son. It’s because of her benovent nature that he assured me she will not cut ties with me.”

“We wish David and [his] mum, new dad, sister and brother would join us,” he added. “We are now family.”

Madonna recently premiered a documentary she made about orphans in Malawi.

“I was allowed to view footage and photographs of a lot of the children,” she told Oprah Winfrey in 2006. “An 8-year-old girl who is living with HIV was holding this child. I became transfixed by him. … But I didn’t yet know I was going to adopt him. I was just drawn to him.”

Madonna said David had survived malaria and tuberculosis but “no one looking after [his] welfare.”

Madonna, 49, and Ritchie have two other children: Lourdes, 11, and Rocco, 7.”

I’d say that I hope all is well for her family but I don’t think it will be considering that she and Guy Ritchie are due to break up any day now. It’s nice that this process is over for them though and that David is now officially part of the family. I’m also wondering if freakin Madonna has to wait two years for the process to be completed, how long does someone have to wait when they don’t have money falling out of their hands at every turn and don’t carry a huge name such as hers.

Kirk Cameron speaks about Bad Luck and Scientology

May 28th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Kirk Cameron

cameron.jpgYou can expect Kirk Cameron to be in the news for the next little while as he has written an autobiography titled Still Growing, which is filled with the bad turn his life took after he was a child star and some very strong statements about religion and specifically, Scientology.

Cameron speaks about a stalker that was constantly after him who, to make a bad situation worse, was a pedophile. He went undercover with the FBI to catch the stalker and all of this was amidst a series of other unfortunate events. Contact Music reports,

Cameron, now 37, had to face a host of other hardships while appearing on the series - including firing his own mother from her role as manager after his parents’ separation caused an explosive rift.
He tells America’s OK! magazine, “I was part of an FBI sting operation to catch a pedophile stalker who was hunting me down. Difficult things were happening in my family during my parents’ separation.
“I had to fire my mother as my manager. I had my manager steal a lot of my money.”

It’s interesting how he speaks about his mother at the end and in the last sentence when speaking about why he had to fire her, calls her his manager instead of his mother. It’s almost as though he’s trying to separate the bad person that steals from him from the good woman that has raised him. Cameron goes on to speak about his views on Christianity and Scientology. His words are harsh and this one just screams public scandal. Contact Music also reports,

“The former teen idol turned to Christianity after his time on the hit U.S. TV series, complaining about various “immoral” aspects of the 1980s show’s plotline.
The 37-year-old even went on to set up his own U.S. ministry, The Way Of The Master, with his wife Chelsea Noble, the mother of his six God-fearing children.
And now Cameron, who has written his autobiography Still Growing about his life, has lashed out at the Church of Scientology and its founder L. Ron Hubbard, branding the faith “kooky” - and advising people to find God through the Bible.
He tells America’s OK! magazine, “I think Scientology is kooky. I think L. Ron Hubbard had some imaginative ideas, but the bottom line is that it’s false, not real, and my advice to people is don’t get mixed up in cults and false religions but seek out the true and living God and try to honour him with all your heart. You can do that by reading the Bible.”

Okay, whatever his personal views are is fine by me. I do think he’s looking to stir up trouble especially after Tom Cruise gets hold of it. He hasn’t been one to shy away from the camera when speaking about the religion in the past. The biggest issue I have with this statement is that Growing Pains had “immoral aspects?” Wasn’t this the show that showed Boner thinking about doing drugs and Mike telling him how bad they were for him? Wasn’t Mike Seaver the underachiever that proved himself good? I don’t understand how a feel-good sitcom can be called immoral. I’m definitely going to need an explanation on this one.

The Lives of Other Basketball Stars

May 28th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

What a mess - and we’re not talking “hot mess.” No, this just sounds like a good, old-fashioned mess. Seems like you rarely hear about the private lives of basketball stars like Kobe - unless they do something woefully awful (a la his rape scandal), they somehow manage to keep a relatively low profile off the court - or at least Kobe seems to have done so, following the scandal, of course. That is, until something like this comes ONTO the court:

Yes yes, it’s very sweet and all that his kids came onto the court for his MVP award, but his wife, Vanessa, had to have known that this picture would be seen my millions. Anyway, that’s not even the point.

According to a few reports, an ESPN.com reporter, Laura Lane made, well, similar comments about her wardrobe choice, and then got into quite a tiff with Vanessa, which she explains on her blog.

Apparently the reporter was walking out of the team’s locker room after some post-game interviews when Vanessa began to scream and cuss at Lane - with her two daughters sitting right there.

Lane also says this outburst may be due in part to reports she rote that Kobe was hot-n-heavy with one of the Lakers girls.

This is one mess that is NOT hot.

Cook’s First Celebrity Hook-Up

May 27th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in David Archuleta, David Cook, Kimberly Caldwell

cook1.jpgIt wasn’t even a week ago that David Cook won American Idol Season 7 and he’s already in the news for his “latest” hook-up. She is Kimberly Caldwell, the rocker chic from American Idol Season 2 that finished in seventh place. From The Pop Crunch Show,

David Cook is dating American Idol Season 2 alum Kimberly Caldwell.

The former bartender, who defeated seventeen year old fan favorite David Archuleta at the American Idol 7 Season Finale last Wednesday, has confirmed reports that he and Kimberly enjoyed a dinner date over the weekend.

“We’ll probably hang out again. So we’ll see,” David said on Live with Regis & Kelly on Tuesday morning.”

David Cook made an impression on the show that will not soon be forgotten, being one of the most sincere and geniunely nice contestants the show has ever seen combined with that powerhouse voice. Kimberly Caldwell you might sort of, maybe, kind of remember but I don’t see her sticking around in the news for too long. Mycaldwell.jpg prediction is this. David will just be adjusting to life in Hollywood and it will be too much of a strain on their relationship until he has gotten used to it. Once he has, he’ll have plenty of other women at his feet and David himself won’t even remember who she is.

Agent Britney

May 27th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Britney Spears, Uncategorized

More proof that Hollywood is one, big, incestuous family: Britney Spears is reported to be dating her agent. First there was the backup singer, then her body guard - or was it the body guard that ratted on her? - then rumors of other publicists, agents, paparazzi, etc. Now news that her newest beau is Jason Trawick - an agent with William Morris.

He’s apparently made it his mission to get her back on track … maybe in more ways than one? (wink, wink) He was concerned for her when she had her (much publicized) break-down, and now he’s been instrumental in getting her back in the gym, and also played an integral part in getting her the role on “How I Met Your Mother.”

I’ve seen too much Entourage and Dirt, and it’s hard for me to imagine how dating someone who’s supposed to be professionally promoting you can be good for either person’s image. It seems like it makes Brit look like she’s clamoring for publicity (which she has a problem with anyway), and it makes him seem less legit when he goes out seeking exposure for her: who wants to listen to a guy who’s dating the client he’s promoting?

Whatever the outcome, hopefully Jason DOES have good intentions and is simply looking out for her well being.
